We stopped here for lunch on a walk from Balcombe to East Grinstead & would highly recommend it. Very good menu, delicious food, lovely staff, dog friendly & overall great pub! What more could you want?!

We went twice in three days it was so good. Having found The Cat for a quick snack on a journey we found it so friendly and the food so good that we booked a table for lunch on our return trip. Excellent food and service both times. We will certainly return when we are next in the area.

Went for my wife's birthday. Lovely comfortable, cosy pub, not pretentious, friendly relaxed service, fantastic meals. My wife had a vegetarian starter (Artichokes) and I had black pudding scotch egg, we both had Stone Bass for mains. Drinks with both and no more than £35 a head. Will be back as soon as we can. Thank you!

Had a Saturday lunch here. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I have mobility issues which certainly weren't a problem here. Food was delicious and service was good even though they were very busy . A very enjoyable experience.

We stayed at the Cat for our anniversary treat away from our two toddlers and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The breakfast was pretty standard but nice and the staff for the most part were friendly and inviting. (Some appeared a little preoccupied and weren't so attentive - getting attention for coffee/tea/toast refills on both days was just a bit too...

I went to the Cat Inn with my husband for a weekend break to celebrate our anniversary. We had a lovely time - lovely cosy bar, and very nicely furnished rooms with good, comfortable beds. Some thought had gone into making sure there was everything we would need. We ate at the Inn twice and enjoyed our meals hugely. The...

Long country walk followed by lunch at the Cat. Decent selection on the main menu and a good specials board. Good wine list and selection of ales at the bar. I ordered a burger which was nicely produced and very tasty. Prices are as you'd expect for a pub/inn in that kind of location. Not cheap, but not extortionate. Meal...

I had a fantastic meal here over Christmas. The steak, ale and mushroom pie was heavenly and the strong green veg and mash finished it perfectly. My party also had fish and chips and mushroom tart and I could have eaten any of theirs. The service was excellent.

We had a great meal here tonight after seeing good reviews online. A vegetarian starter of beetroot and quinoa salad was excellent, really fresh and lots of flavourful ingredients. For mains, the lamb rump with pearl barley and salt baked celeriac was again full of flavour and well cooked and my partner enjoyed her rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce....

Sadly The Cat Inn did not live up to its reputation for any of us when we visited. It was surprisingly quiet in The Cat not busy at all which was surprising so close to Christmas. The starter was beautifully presented & absolutely delicious. Our mains however were disappointing so we quietly and politely advised the Asst Manager and our...
