We stopped during our backwater tour
at this so beautiful location directly waterside.
The manager Jakob showed us the farm. Some local people showed how harvesting coconut, how using the palms. Very interesting and authentic.
Afterwards we got a very delicious homemade lunch served on Bananaleaves
Absolutely worth to stay here
The rooms are also nice

Return visit here and much as I remembered. The location of the property is superb, the rooms are traditional and full of character and the food is home cooked and delicious. The fact that you can only really reach the property by boat makes it even more special. A relaxing start to our holiday in Kerala.

A, far too brief, one night stay here was the highlight of our Kerala trip. We were picked up by small boat and taken to the farm stay...what a lovely sight as we drew up to alight. Greeted by a family member who showed us to a lovely large room with comfortable bed, bathroom and outside shower. An experience to listen to the sounds of nature while washing! After a cup of tea, followed by lunch, we walked around the gardens with our hostess who explained about the area, the crops, the animals. The charming kitchen staff showed us how to prepare and cook the evening meal, the ingredients and spices all freshly chopped and cooked...I learnt a great deal, thank you all so much. All meals were extremely tasty and home cooked. The staff were so helpful and informative. My only complaint is that we were not able to stay longer! I recommend Kurialacherry House wholeheartedly.

We stopped at this place for lunch on our kayaking tour around Alleppey. The food was amazing. The shady garden and the cooling fan were really appreciated after a warm warming in the kayak. The food was really delicious especially the whole fish. Our family of 5 were really hungry as we had been working hard all morning and they kept on bringing food to us. They were a lovely welcoming family and Jacob the Manager made our stay a special one

We were a group of 30 people who spent two nights with Jacob and his family, and we had a fantastic stay! The food was delicious and homely, and our hosts were friendly and welcoming. Jacob arranged a houseboat for us, which conveniently picked us up from the property entrance, making it easy for our large group .
The property is well-maintained, with a beautiful backwater view ,garden and swans that add to its peaceful and picturesque charm.
Our only minor issue was that, given our large group size, the hosts had some difficulty serving food on time. However, this did not detract from our overall wonderful experience, and we would highly recommend this property to others.

We stayed in the Kurialacherry guesthouse in Feb 2020 for two nights.
Our room was very spaceous and well equipped with an nice open air bathroom. the service and the food was very good.
We enjoyed a number of activities during our stay like early morning kajaking, village walk, school visit (that was fun for everyone), and night fishing. Also we were invited by Jacobs team to attend the cooking of our dinner in the house kitchen.
The Kurialacherry house is a beautiful property, quite remote on the riverside.
We definitely recommend!

We had a delightful stay in a historic building on the family villa. A yard full of colour and life. A birdwatcher's paradise!
The room was very comfortable with AC and fan, private balcony, semi outdoor private shower adjoining the room. Everything nice and clean!
The hosts Jacob and Elizabeth were warm and welcoming and a wealth of knowledge about the history and life on this land surrounded by rice paddies and fisher people. Sreekumar attended well to our every need and took us on an informative walk around the village and his home.
The food is prepared by local women and was all simply delicious, highlighting local cuisine ! The hosts are very involved in community work and local sustainability projects.
If you are looking for a beautiful, authentic homestay, I highly recommend Kurialacherry House

We 100% recommend this property. We stayed for 3 nights and had a really relaxing stay. The food is outstandingly good - breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked by very talented local women. The hosts Jacob and Elizabeth are very welcoming and kind, and Jacob showed us around town for an excellent boat tour including local church, museum, and other sights. Sreekumar, another staff member, took excellent care of us for the whole stay, also showing us around the village, and going so far as to climb up and chop down some coconuts when I mentioned it might be nice for a drink. The property has a beautiful garden with hammocks and many flowers, fronting the river. Our cottage, the traditional room, was very comfortable and clean, with AC, Balcony, and a private patio with lounge chairs and a table fronting the river. The property is about 45Min from Alleppey, and Jacob organised a houseboat for us for the following destination.
Thank you everyone at Kurialacherry house for a beautiful stay on our holiday!

Experiencing a backwaters home-stay at Kurialacherry House was a highlight of our tour in Southern India. The rooms are unique, charming, and comfortable. Going in kayaks and canoes allowed deeper exploration of the smaller canals. The breakfasts and dinners were home cooked and probably the best of our three week tour. Jacob and his family provide for experiences that are indigenous to the area. There are also several worthy sights nearby.

This well maintained ancestral house is located in a serene and calm environment blessed with the beauty of the backwater lakes at the entrance, beautiful lawns, chirping birds, lovely food and warm people. I had an amazing stay for 3 days recently and I can never forget the soulful connections made on the hammocks in the lawns of this lovely place . The shikara rides and canoeing provided help you explore some breath taking views and if you are a nature lover you will find it hard to come out of the blissful state of inner peace. This place is truly addictive and you won’t feel like ending your trip!Highly recommended for solo trips or to stay with family or friends!
