I have been to three different hostels between Mount Maunganui and Tauranga and PCL has been the best I have been to. There is a big communal kitchen area with functional stoves and oven and a nice tv room where to chill out. Beds are quite comfortable and the hostel is well located close to all the amenities the Mount...

I had an amazing stay @ this hostel. I stayed here for a while during my work and travel trip. They help people who are looking for a job and give you good advise also for applying. They also give you an option to work for accommodation. The rooms are okay . The kitchen is big but sometimes a bit...

HI Gertonz, THANK YOU for taking the time to review us!! We all try so hard at trying to create an awesome place for our guests to stay and enjoy and often people find it easy to write negative things rather than positive. It really does boost our staff moral and gives us confidence that we really are the best...

I stayed at the Pacific Coast Lodge for 1,5 months and really enjoyed it. It's spacious, has lots of activities (table tennis, games, movie chill area, free surf boards, outdoor area) and the general vibe is really good. I feel like it's real good value for money. If you're looking for work they're especially great. They have all the connections...

HI Merel, Thank you for taking the time to review us! We are so happy you like the "vibe" of the hostel, atmosphere is everything! And that you thought it was value for money, when you make the use of the free surf boards and bikes and ask for assistance in job finding then yes, it sure is! Peace, love...

I was a long term guest at PCL over a large bulk of summer 2016/17 and hope this review is useful to prospective guests. Facilities; - Kitchen is a good size however not enough pots, pans etc and there were many times I found myself unable to cook due to lack of space/equipment. Plus not enough space to store food...

Dear Carroter - If you were a long term guest and stayed with us ALL summer why on earth have you moaned and complained - why not just move out and find a flat?!! You paid $26 a night which is not expensive, AND you say you enjoyed your time with us and met some amazing people?? THAT is why...

Stayed with my mom in a twin bedroom, the bedroom was clean and the bathroom aswell, te lady who showed us through the backpacker was very nice. Found the kitchen very dirty and mess, there was rest of food near the sink, and dishes everywhere. Might not be the owners fault but some people there seems to be long term,...

Absolutely no faults for service, they where excellent. I can see it has great areas: big kitchen and outdoor area, lounges. And free surf board and bike hire is pretty darn neat. However firstly...the bathrooms where below par: if you are the type of person whom likes their personal space, are not particularly touchy or someone who doesn't like sharing...

Thanks for acknowledging all the things we do well and offer our guests! "Absolutely no faults for service, they were excellent. I can see it has great areas: big kitchen and outdoor area, lounges. If you high likely to cook, you may not like the kitchen. I wish to have better ventilation in their dorm. Room with no vent or window causing the room fill with wet towel smell and is more worst when your sleep in a 10 people dorm.

HI Leong, We are exceptionally busy at present as it is peak season, the kitchen gets cleaned in the morning, throughout the day, in the evening and late at night! Unfortunately some backpackers ruin it for others and leave dirty dishes around expecting their mother to turn up and do it for them! You were in the cheapest dorm room...
