KTDC, "Suvasam" Thanneermukkom is located at Thanneermukkom, Near Kumarakom. Suvasam means a pleasant stay in Sanskrit. Thanneermukkom is the name of the barrier constructed here to prevent tidal action and intrusion of salt water into the Kuttanad lowlands across Vembanad Lake, between Thanneermukkom and Vechur. The water in this part of the lake is the cleanest. KTDC Suvasam is easily accessible from Kochi and Alappuzha (1 hour) and is located very close to Kumarakom. KTDC Suvasam overlooking the Vembanad Lake has 37 rooms, each with a garden in front and a view of the lake. A perfect getaway from the stress and hustle of urban life and window to take glimpse of the calm rural life, KTDC Suvasam brings with freshness and greenery
Nice location, but thats where the positive part ends. A government property, has the best location in Kumarkom, but maintenance is really shabby, and its a shame as to how this property is being wasted. We had two rooms, in one of the rooms the AC did not work, plaster of the walls are falling off, overall a very sad state. If the maintenance / upkeep of the property was good, this could have been one of the finest resort in this part of the country, but similar to lot of other government properties, its a sad story.

A nice place to stay in Alleppy (Kumarakom). The place has nice open space, garden with flowering trees and few rows of suites and rooms.
The rooms are good, clean and having good furniture and TV. The Washroom has running hot (morning time) and cold water.
The staff are very good and co-operative.
Wanted but could not play Badminton as the Rackets and Shuttlecocks of the Resort were kept in an official's Room and he could not be traced for more than 2 hours (till evening) on 15th Feb.

The resort is located at a Serene location overlooking the lake. The rooms are good with almost all rooms provide a Balcony overlooking the lake. Its a very picturesque location and proximity to lake gives a very relaxing feel. One can meditate with open eyes with calmness of the lake. The staff are very polite and soft spoken

The resort is very nice and beautiful overlooking the Vembanand Lake, The atmosphere is calm and surreal . It a a huge swimming pool and the restaurant serves good food. The service is prompt and always with a smile. Would love to visit again this resort in Kumarkom.

Stayed here for a night in Feb 22. Located right on the banks of the backwaters, this place gives a pleasant vibe. The positives are Excellent property budget friendly decent food and courteous staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Recommended.

We had been to KTDC Waterscapes for our Team outing. We had booked 6 Canal View Cottages. To be frank we went there with very less expectation but to our surprise it was exceptional. The property is very well maintained.We were taken care very well by the staff. Food was good. The team ensured our stay was a memorable one. Thanks KTDC for your hospitality!

They have a lot of chain cottages. The premium rooms are at the bank of the lake and has balcony. Nice view but no houseboats were seen in the lake probably due to Covid. Breakfast has only 2 options, Puttu and Poori. Rooms were neat and clean. Hot water available. No intercom, need to call on mobile for everything.

This was our first ever visit to Kerala and a first ever to a Government run property. This property is very nice and stratefically located. However it is ruined by the management (i should say mismanagement). Rooms were full of variety of insects and wall lizards of different shapes. Bedsheets were soiled and dirty. Pillow covers looked as if it werent changed from ages. Floor was not even mopped. There was a huge crack in the main door which made it a "see through" door. All this was a first shocker. The second shocker came in the morning during breakfast. We went around 9:00 am and were sochekd to find that almost all the items in breakfast were finished. There was no Bread, no butter. Only 4 pieces of hard Idly were balance and 5 pieces of small size Dosas. No Sambar, No chutney. When I enquired with the restaurant maanger, the response was very rude. He said "Sir Thats it for the day we are not going to prepare any more". If you want I can serve you jucie" !!! When I said I need to speak to their maanger, he says I am the manager here!! Now thats the attitude and mismanagement I was talking about earlier. During Checkout i naratted this incident to the front office and the lady just smiled and shrugged off. I asked for a feedback form or register, she said they dont maintain any such registers.... So all in all if you want to spend your holiday night with insects & lizards, if you want your holidays to be spoiled by such restaurant managers then definetely visit this place!!!

rain at kerala is beautiful and , you can enjoy the rain at back water at suvasm . wi fi is consistent. we do not have ayurveda treatment in house as of now.
There are more places to choose from in the Thanneermukkom area.
