Sometimes it is not the food in a pub which make you come out happy, but the friendly and helpful staff. We went in for Sunday lunch without a booking and they fitted us despite being fully booked. We hadn't realised that the full menu isn't available on a Sunday and had gone there especially as they have a vegan...

Food was ok. Bar staff very rude and bad attitude towards us. Carvery was good. beef and turkey cooked to perfection a Shame about the bar staff. Go too the bears lake inn about 3 miles down the road.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you had a problem with the bar staff. If you could contact us and discuss how they were rude and had a bad attitude towards you I could then implement some further training.

We were staying just up the road so popped here for dinner on a very rainy evening! Prices were fairly reasonable and the choice of food was good. I'm always disappointed to see really standard meals on a menu however there was a real mix of things here. We had squid and brie for starters, both were delicious followed by...

My stay was a panic one with a mate of mine - we'd done 30km and were dead on our feet and didn't fancy drive back to Bristol. Booked In over phone and had a delightful room. Clean, warm and comfortable. Amazing power shower which is just what you need after a long day on moors. Really friendly folks and...

We were staying in the area for a few days and we wanted to eat out and try vegetarian. The Mary Tavy Inn has vegetarian options on its menu so we gave it a try. I had the veggie chilli and my wife had the veggie curry. We liked it. The food was good and the service was friendly. It's...

We were staying in Brentor and we decided to come here for dinner. We had four mains and four puddings and drinks and it came out at just over £100... I had lemon sole and tarragon sauce. It wasn't very flavourful but I did send them a message after to explain and they were very helpful. It's a real local...

We were a group of 6 for a birthday lunch. What struck me was the fact that each table was called up for their carvery separately. This method of service reduced that awful cueing syndrome that you get in other carvery venues. We were treated in a personal way and the food was varied and hot, on hot plates. The...

Oh where to start.......the rooms aren't actually in the inn but in the garden, just laid to grass but a fantastic place to sit at night & stargaze or just soak up the tranquility of the day.The rooms themselves aren't huge but have everything needed & roomy showers. There is a lively atmosphere in the bar & the meals are...
