This small hotel comprises an old characterful building and is simply furnished in a modern style. Nothing fancy but it met all our requirements. It is within easy reach of Montreux, Vevey and other towns along Lake Leman at a more affordable price than hotels there. Hotel du Soleil was clean, everything worked. There is no lift but the very... More

This is a family-run hotel where the owners are doing everything to make their guests' stay enjoyable. We really felt at home here! Sven quickly answered our ring at the door and took us to the breakfast room to check us in. (There is no Reception desk.) While this was being completed, our suitcase was whisked away to our room,... More

We were coming by train from London - Eurostar to Paris, TGV Lyria to Lausanne, and local rail to Villeneuve. The through booking in Paris only allowed one hour from Eurostar arrival at the Gare du Nord until the departure of the next train from Gare de Lyon. Needless to say, after battling lines for RER tickets to make the... More

I stayed here for a couple of nights on business. I chose it based on its Tripadvisor rating, but was rather underwhelmed. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the hotel, and the guy who runs it is perfectly friendly, but there's really nothing that stands out in my mind requiring a recommendation. The Main Street it is on is very quiet... More

We chose this hotel from reading many reviews on here, and trying to find something within our budget. Overall we were very happy with our choice and there were no bad surprises. The location is a 5 min walk from the train station, down the main 'old' street. The entrance is down a side road, but there is a sign... More

Fantastic French style stay. We visited via golden pass visiting Zurich, Luzern, Interlaken. Stayed here for couple of nights and visited nearby areas, Montreux and wineries. Very well located hotel, just 5mins walk from railway connection and well connected by bus routes. You can get direct railway to Geneva (which we visited after our stay here) We visited in summer... The Hotel is located very close to the station in the market and the Geneva lake (at a walkable distance)....Staff was very friendly and co-operative. We had Bicycles which we wanted to keep inside the Hotel but were not sure if the staff would allow that. The staff immediately agreed and allowed us to keep the bicylces inside the hotel.... More

After being stuck in Portugal involuntarily (thanks, Easyjet!) we unfortunately missed one night of our stay here. Grateful that Sven let us cancel that morning without penalty. Room was lovely and very clean. We were all amused by the cute toilet seat cover. Breakfast was fine - our only small niggle was that after a 19 hour travel day (geez,... More

Having stayed for a few nights in 2013 we decided to come to Villeneuve again and were glad that Sven and Coraline were able to take us for nine nights in May just past. Everything was as good as last year. Again we were given the Montreux Riviera card for free bus and train travel between Villeneuve and Vevey Funiculaire.... More

Our initial impression of this hotel was fairly positive. Fairly well located at the end of the regional train line, we were able to utilize a parking spot provided by the hotel. After that, things were not quite as positive. The room we had was directly above a loud restaurant. Traffic noise was prevalent as well. Beds (two twin sized)... More
