The personal is really kind. The location is pretty good, it's possible to watch the best sunset in the lake just 300m walking. There are really nice restaurants and also small store very close, as well. The tours were well organized and they can provide other services as motorbike rental, and it was also good.

Had fun in the clouds. Don’t take it too seriously. Ometepe bud is trash. Get the ha$h. The bike was terrible but it works and they probs won’t charge you if they brake... more likely they’ll reimburse you. Cheers doe had a dank time. Shoutout to restaurant opposite, best food for the best price.

Stayed here several nights in February and enjoyed my stay a lot. It's definitely not the cleanest hostel but it has a very nice atmosphere and nice chill areas. The staff is lovely as well and they do serve free coffee in the morning! There are no lake views and the "beach" closeby is not made for hanging out but it's perfectly located to hike Maderas (what I highly recommend). Met a lot of nice people in the hostel and if you're wondering where you will meet nice people in empty Nicaragua, this is the place to be!

If you stay in the Lazy Crab you'll know the Ometepe vibe. Amazing, clean hostel with all facilities you'd need as a traveler in the best part of the island, Ballgüe. The owner, Ryder, couldn't be a better host. The volunteers and coworkers were very helpful and lovely too. You can rent motorbikes in perfect condition and at a reasonable price. See you again soon Ometepe & Lazy Crab!

We stayed here in Ometepe after our original accommodation fell through, and we are so pleased we found it! It’s a great little spot, very chilled with lovely friendly staff. The room was nice and clean - we had a private bathroom.. no hot water but that was fine as it was pretty refreshing! Nice communal areas and large kitchen to cook in. You can rent bikes here too which is really handy. Overall a great stay and would definitely recommend.

The room is nice and a few staff members are really friendly. Unfortunatly - there is no wifi in the room - i travel now for 5 months and this is the most terrible shower ever. I mean is this a shower? Almost no water and it goes straight to the wall. Where do you have to stand? I think it is better to shower with your own bottle of water - on booking.com they offer a massage (but you need to pay) if you ask for it they dont offer a massage - the kayaktours are everywhere 20 dollar included transport and a guide.( i book it in hostel telcali (2 km from this hostel) hostel lazy crab offer the tour for 30 dollar included transport- 10 dollar extra for only a 5 minut ride. Also the check in was not good at all They ask just to pay for your reservation. But they dont give any information like things to do in town - wifi code for example They look not really interested. I ask also for a ride (and ask for the price) 4 km further. The younger guy say it was 200 cordoba because for me it was nothing (the money) !!! I dont stay here again

Really nice hostel with spacious rooms and friendly staff, but they’re not always up to speed. They rent scooters and get you shuttles to the ferry. Bathrooms are not the cleanest, but not too bad. Unfortunately no breakfast, but there are many cheap restaurants and shops around. The nice and spacious common areas are definitely worth a stay there !

Lazy Crab is perfect for relaxing and having fun. Good music, positive atmosphere, hammocks & benches, chess-table (!), colorful walls, filtered water for free, kitchen, trees around with a lot of singing birds, the lake for swimming or watching fire flies.....love love love this little paradise. The whole staff is awesome, super funny and very helpful. If you're not able to speak Spanish to commicate with all of them, it just needs a smile or a "hola" to get back so much nice. In general here it is easy to make new friends, whether with the staff, guests or locals. It feels like a little home, this was the reason to come a second time.... and at the end for almost 3 weeks. You can rent bikes or motos, so it's really easy to explore the island from this part of ometepe. For buying food, cigarettes a few of purpurias are around. Will definitely come back for a third time!
