This was our second stay at Gilpin Mill. This time we were in the Lakes for my birthday and Jo and Steve had very kindly left me a card. They are tremendously welcoming, the house is beautifully decorated and furnished, but very comfortable. We booked room 1, a large room with double aspect, generous en-suite with separate bath and walk...

My wife and I visited the area from Hampshire to join in the celebrations for a 25th wedding anniversary and several significant birthdays too. We arrived late on the Friday evening (thanks to the M6 motorway) but Jo and Steve were very understanding and made us feel really welcome. We had no problem getting to Gilpin Mill using the directions...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and we have nothing bad to say! Steve and Jo are the most welcoming hosts with local knowledge and advice on where to visit. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of hot and cold food to choose from. Massive comfy bed and modern bathroom. Highly recommended!

From arrival to departure the hosts Jo & Steve made my wife and I feel very welcome. The standard of the bedrooms is exceptional and the location is idealistic. A little "off the beaten track" ... but once found, you will not want to leave. If you want a location that has it all - This is it!

This charming house has been completed in the last few years but looks substantially older. A white cottage beside a mill pond, what more can you ask for? Finding the house is a bit of a challenge, so stick with it.....the roads are narrow and convoluted, so take care you don't meet one of the six cars a day which...

Gilpin Mill is a gem of a B&B run by a friendly and personable couple, Jo and Steve. Situated in a beautiful valley accessed by very narrow country lanes, Gilpin Mill is the epitome of a peaceful retreat with nothing more to disturb the silence than birdsong and the tumbling waters of a stream passing by the house. The gardens...

We had a very warm welcome from the owners Steve & Jo after finding Gilpin Mill in the beautiful countryside, tucked away between villages. The bedrooms are luxurious and comfortable with wonderful views of the hills. There are little extras that make this stay special, a mini fridge in the bedroom, power showers, a welcome drink and warms scones plus...

Hard to find but well worth the effort. The hosts could not have been more attentive with advice, suggestions and recommendations. It's all spotless, breakfast is delicious and, best of all, there are a pair of dippers in the river. Now if only they could sort out the weather in the Lakes.......

My partner and I stayed here for four nights. Lovely picturesque quiet setting for this family run BnB. The room was well above the expected standard and the homemade breakfast was beautiful. The port and homemade cakes on arrival is a warm welcome gesture setting Gilpin Mill above the rest. Definitely recommend.

Myself and my wife have just spent another two nights at Gilpin Mill having been there a couple of years ago. We rarely visit anywhere twice but this was a wonderful exception and every bit as good as the first time. The house, grounds and the rooms are fantastic; a beautiful home, clean, warm and welcoming especially when the weather...
