A hotel that is trying to finesse all the little details with some great staff. A mention should be made both to Priscilla who served breakfast on our first morning (it was her first morning with the hotel) who was a joy and the coconut bread which is a special order on the menu - if you even remotely like...

They describe the Gallivant as a 'restaurant with rooms', in fact that undersells it. The rooms are beach chic and the restaurant is all scrubbed wood and locally sourced produce. The wine list offers more English wines than anywhere I have seen and the food was perfectly prepared. My only negative was that on two of the three days we...

My wife's little sister booked us in as a surprise for our birthdays, we had a fabulous trip, the room was lovely, the food and drink was amazing, the proximity to the beach was perfect, everything was perfect. The only thing bad was the rain, but when in the UK this is the problem we face. Loved this place, would...

Great service and a wonderful venue. We took our dog and stayed two nights. It was a perfect break.the breakfast was fantastic and it is just a few minutes walk over the road to the sandy beach. Highly recommend a visit.

The hotel is clean and comfortable in a respectable, average way. The price, however, feels to ambitious for the accommodation offered. We also had dinner there: out of the 3 mains we had, two were good and one (the steak) was of really poor quality.

Great location and a very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Food is very good quality. The continental breakfast in the morning was very good. Bathrooms are slightly dated but spotlessly clean.

Food amazing, room a bit tired-no seal between shower screen and bath so it leaked. Door to garden squeaked so much you couldn't leave it open and the pillows were very flat but we love camber sands and this hotel is good. The food is amazing-local,fresh and looks stunning. Wine is pricey.

No getting away from the fact that this is a lovely place to stay but for a high price. We had a luxury garden room and sleep and food were amazing. However when we booked there was total refusal of a deal and no dinner and cooked breakfast included even though we were staying for 4 nights and paying for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our coastal restaurant with rooms, across the road from the dunes of Camber Sands and beautiful sandy beach beyond. Inspired by the coastal motels you might find in California, we're a calm and relaxing hideaway from the stresses and strains of modern life. We have 20 amazing bedrooms all decorated with an eye to the Hamptons and serve great food using almost exclusively locally sourced fresh ingredients. In 2016 we were included in The Times 'Coolest Beach Hotels - No. 4', The Mirror's 'Top 10 Seaside Hotels in the UK' and Squaremeal's 'UK's Best 100 Restaurants'. The private coastal garden incorporates mini secluded decks behind all the Garden and Luxury Garden rooms and is also home to The Beach Hut, where guests can enjoy relaxing massages and lovely facials after a day on the beach using ethical and natural health and beauty products that are exclusively blended in the UK. ... more   less
