We stayed in a sunrise overwater vila absolutely magnificent, with incredible views, our own private pool and amazing sea life. All the staff here will make you feel at home, very kind and professional. The massages at the spa are the perfect excuse to treat yourself. We’ll definitely come back !!

What can we say? We miss this place terribly and we were so sad to leave this place. We went as a family of 4 (twins at 2 years of age) after a long flight, a short seaplane ride, a little van drive, a speed boat and a buggy ride we got to our over the lagoon pool room #813. We were amazed from the start, the whole welcome was personalised and made us feel special. Shout out to Melanie who drove us to the reception... who we got to know a little on our daily chats! Every single detail in this piece of heaven on earth has been thought out. The room was beautiful and you didn’t really need to leave for it had everything! Our daily nature walks for breakfast at the Dining Room, the Turtle Kids Club (we forget the ladies names but thank you so much for entertaining the boys!) we even cycled to the Sunset Beach Bar a few times! The laid back food and cocktails here was right up our street with views to die for! The staff were all so amazing and went over and beyond for us and made us feel at ease even though it’s sometimes stressful with 2 toddlers running around creating havoc! We enjoyed the ala carte style ordering at the Dining Room and with a mouth watering menu it was so hard to pick as the portions were generous! Shout out to Vignesh and his colleagues! You guys were so great to us- thank you! Thank you also to Fitri who kept our villa so clean- spic and span as it was forever full of crumbs frm the kids hahah thank you so much! And for my birthday flower and leaves and towel art decorations! Melanie thanks for organising the cake and wine too for my birthday, the boys enjoyed it the most :) We had dinner at LiBai and it was lovely. Again the staff went over and beyond to cater for the boys even though they kept demanding for nothing other than ice cream 🍨 We went to the Faluma French Fine Dining restaurant for my birthday dinner and the views were so amazing! As always it was rushed as we had the boys with us who have no patience haha, but the food was so delicious! We attended the cocktail party by the management on the sandy bay in the middle of the 1km bridge area that links both islands and had witnessed most beautiful sunset (delicious cocktails and finger foods) the management came across as genuine and keen to really know what you felt/ thought and how your stay was going so far. Everyone seems to know what’s going on and which villa you’re at so everything is super personalised. We loved this touch. We had to cut our stay short because of the Covid-19 situation and Melanie was constantly in touch with us to let us know what was happening: planned in terms of logistics to get us to the main airport, as the local seaplanes were also operating less frequently. We then found out we had to leave the afternoon the morning before our flight- which meant spending 18 hours in the airport with two toddlers! This is where this hotel truly impressed us. They sent two butlers with us to help throughout the journey(s) and stayed at the main airport until we made it on to our main flight back home. Not only that, they packed us a variety of lunch boxes, packed duvets and a pillow, and booked our the entire VIP Lounge just for us. (No locals hotels could be booked by tourists, they were starting to shut the islands down) we were so shocked and felt so blessed to have had that privacy and facilities as it meant the boys could rest properly before continuing the next day with 2 long flights home. It also meant that we were out of other people’s way with the boys running around and toys! So for this and this alone, we are so appreciative and thankful! It’s really difficult to put into words but having been to many all inclusive resorts all over the world, this is by far my favourite. I hope we can return soon when all is back to normal. Some photos- again does not capture this magical place in its true essence. You just have to go and experience it all.

Dear BottleGreenTravelFly, Warm greetings from The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah and thank you for taking the time to share with us your review on TripAdvisor. We are delighted that you enjoyed the personal touch and the charm of our resort, where we believe in enriching each guest's moment during their stay with us. We are pleased to know that you particularly enjoyed the foods especially the cuisines at The Falhumaa and Li Bai. The Covid-19 situation was unprecedented which caused many travel plans to be interrupted as such. It warms our heart to learn that you had felt reassured and looked after despite the inconveniences as a result of new regulations implemented. Your thanks and compliments to to Melanie, Vignesh, Fitri, our butlers and The Turtle Kids Club staff have been extended to them for their attentive service. Thank you again for your detailed review. We hope that the boys had an amazing time too. We look forward to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your family back again soon. Warm regards, M Sundaram General Manager

We stayed here for 4 nights in a sunset water pool villa & are yet to come out of this hangover. The property is so beautiful, picturesque and instagrammable, you have an option to visit and dine in their speciality restaurants at the sister resort falhumafushi, explore both the islands on bicycles or buggies through a stunning 1 kilometre wooden bridge, built in between the sea, you wont feel bored even if you stay here for a month. Amazing marine life, in house and water activities, you can even see a spool of dophins diving in the sea from the main pool. The staff are so good especially Mrs. Chaitee, and the mauratian girl at the reception, the maldivian guy Mr Jawed, the Keralite beverage manager, Mr. Deepak, the delhi guy at the beach bar you guys are simply stunning. Ms Dhiyam who welcomes you at the dining room is extremely superb in her job, she is so welcoming, yet very calm and patient. The fine dine restaurant especially the falhuma sets a benchmark in standards serving guests. The nepali guys at the buggy are amazing in their job too. The whole team, is so hardworking and deserve an applause. The food served is customized according to your taste, many restaurants, fine dine and buffet options and cuisines to indulge!! The standard all inclusive package includes premium spirits, fine dine restaurants, and also mini bar replished every day. The rooms are amazing and include hair combs to a coffee maker machine, every need is taken care with. Each of our requests were catered with absolute care and attention. Thank You guys for making our vacation amazing. Greatful to you, may god bless! Suggestions: Sunset water villas have really good views, you can swim and snorel except if it is monsoon and the sea is stormy, sunrise villas too are similar and are a better option if you are travelling during monsoon. This is one of the most under rated resort in maldives for its beauty, options, staff and premium services it offers, it should surely come among the top 10.

My wife and I finally got to spend our long awaited (rescheduled five times thanks to Covid) honeymoon at The Residence in February. Once we arrived at this majestic island, everything went smoothly. The lagoon water villa was spacious, clean and and beautifully designed.  The staff were awesome, especially catering to my wife's pregnancy, where they constantly went above and beyond without hesitation. Whether it was the waiters/ waitresses at breakfast, lunch or dinner- they were all amazing and always friendly. A special thanks has to go to; Ujjawal, Jitendra, Alajin, Thong Ashfaag and the best DJ Sanjeewat. In terms of the food and restaurants, the dining room and breakfast and dinner was great. I was expecting a standard buffet, but this was definitely good quality food and a lot of variety. We also went to The Falhumaa for dinner; the food was incredible and so was the service, the only issue was not being able to have a sunset dinner (dinner starts at 7pm). We ate every lunch at the Pool Bar (which also had the best Bar staff); the meals were always fresh and always tasty, they also were open to making amendments. The overall island facilities were also good; the gym, bike/ buggy paths and water activities.  We had a fantastic stay, the staff definitely need to be applauded for their amazing service and attitude.  The only thing we didn't enjoy was how long it took to get from Male International airport to the resourt (we waited three hours for an internal one hour flight, then waited another two hours to get to the resort).

My wife, my two kids and I stayed at The Residence at Dhigurah in March 2021. Due to covid the resort was very calm and not crowded at all. We enjoyed our sunrise water villas, the super-friendly staff, the good infrastructure and the great food. The diving school was excellent as well, very friendly and customer oriented. We would definitely recommend this resort and are looking forward to coming back in the future.
