We only spent one night here, the out of the way lodge is quite basic and a little in need of an upgrade. Our room was spacious and very clean, the towels in the bathroom were fantastic! The food was pleasant and the staff were very helpful. The scenery on the drive into the Lodge is really beautiful and the...

We spent 4 nights at Mboyti River lodge with my fiancé sister and family. Yes it is an all inclusive and could do with a little TLC, but we thoroughly enjoyed it - and it rained most of the time! The staff were very friendly the road there was fine, it was very scenic and we had a great time....

The views at Mbotyi River Lodge are serene, with a tranquil setting, and provide a good location for relaxation. To some extent this is over shadowed by the need for change / an upgrade of the accommodation and real need for improvement of the food (we recently stayed at Ocean View Coffee Bay, which offered a cheaper accommodation, great food...

The trip to Mbotyi was not helped by tge roadworks & sign removal on the N2 . after tackling the foggy conditions with care, we arrived at our destination. The first rooms were crummy not having been refurbished properly in years, We were later upgraded to Sea Facing Rooms which were a lot better. However I found a severe Flying...

15 of us recently (10 - 12 Oct 2014) went to Mbotyi Lodge for a friends 70th birthday...ages ranging from 10 to 70! It has to be the most accommodating, well balanced lodge on the Wild Coast. The staff are all friendly, happy and helpful and nothing is too much effort for them. They went out of their way to...

As a person that cares for the surroundings and the beauty and conservation thereof it was most disturbing so be subjected to the double standards of the management of the lodge. The staff were wonderful and so very accommodating however you got the sense that a big black cloud of unhappiness was hanging over them. It is very apparent that...

My hubby and I stopped in at Mbotyi River Lodge, we had not booked a room but enquired about having a meal. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Everyone made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was awesome with the fire place in the dining room. We had the set dinner menu and it was great, very tasty. We...

This would have to be one of the most beautiful spots on the Wild Coast. We were here as scuba divers to follow the Sardine Run. The accommodation was spacious and spotlessly clean with the plus of amazing views if you get one of the front locations. There is a fridge and tea and coffee making in the room.We were...

This is a great location if you are looking for a super quiet vacation - lodge is 6hrs drive from Durban airport. There is a lot of hiking, biking you can do around. Bar is reasonably well equipped and drinks are very reasonable priced. Pool tables & table-tennis is available in case of bad weather. We stayed in this lodge...

We have visited Mbotyi several times in the past, with our last visit September 2013. We stayed in a sea facing log cabin. On arrival we poured ourselves drinks on the cabin patio and sat and stared at the beautiful surroundings. The hotel served good meals - breakfast and dinner included. We enjoyed a barbeque for every lunch. Time spent...
