Swallows Roost would have to be the best B&B I have stayed in, in one of the best destinations I have been in. Susan, and her offsiders, Ralph and Mary, are great people willing to help us at every turn. They gave us some great tips and ideas. Susan's breakfasts with Ralph's bacon and cheese filled croissants were fantastic. We...

I'm glad I picked Swallows Roost during my stay on Islay. Beautiful view overlooking Port Ellen and nice house. The host Susan, is very caring and was nice enough to pick me up in Port Ellen since I didn't have a car. I stayed here for 2 days as I visited Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig. I'd highly recommended to anyone...

Swallow's Roost is just a beautifully presented B&B in a fantastic elevated position 3miles outside Port Ellen overlooking the bay and surrounding coastline. Susan and family made us so welcome and helped us with everything we needed to do to get around, find the right places to go to and where to eat etc. Had a great weekend and would...

We had the honour to be Susan's guests on our trip to Islay and already on arrival we were stunned by the view. We had two lovely rooms with overlook on the Port Ellen and the sea. The whole house is very clean and compared to other B&Bs we visited in Scotland high above the standard. I haven't slept that...

Very close to the Port Ellen ferry is the lovely home at Swallow’s Roost where we were cheerfully greeted as we drove up to the driveway. Although our host Susan was away, her in-laws, Ralph and Mary took wonderful care of us. They were sweet and welcoming from the start. Ralph gave us helpful suggestions as to which distilleries were...

We stayed for two nights at Swallow's Roost in July, the place is very nice with a stunning view of the lighthouse and Port Ellen. The room was large and comfortable and all the house looks quite new and clean. The only downside is that you cannot have a cooked breakfast, and choices of food for the continental breakfast was...

Jean and I stayed at Swallow's Roost, for 4 nights in June. On arrival we were met by Susan and Ralph who made us feel very welcome. Our room was excellent, and included an en.suite shower room. After a very good night's sleep, time for breakfast . " Wow", what a breakfast, what a variety of goodies. After breakfast Susan...

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Swallow's Roost earlier this month and we had a wonderful experience. In Susan's absence, Ralph and Mary were our marvellous hosts and they quickly made us feel at home. Though the location is a bit outside of Port Ellen, the views from the B&B easily made up for the distance....

We stayed for two nights in May 2015, and our stay was perfect in every way. Susan was a wonderful host, and Swallows Roost provided such a magical location (the island itself is so special of course, but the location of SW is simply breathtaking). Great breakfast, comfortable room, lovely relaxing room ... and a special view each day of...
