Visited for the second time with family and were again impressed by its lovely location. Fantastic outlook from big windows in restaurant over the canal and some very interesting boats. A big plus to this location is surrounding points of interest whether that is the Roman Camp at Croy nearby or the very interesting John Muir walk-staff were very keen...

An £8 sandwich which has virtually no filling. I wouldn't recommend it for lunch certainly. Nice setting with a good view and the service was fine. They probably need to pay a little more attention to the food they are dishing out though!

We have been coming to the Boathouse regularly for dinners/lunches over the past few years and have always enjoyed the food & service! The setting is lovely too! I usually stick to a few favourites that I have had over the years like tempura prawns, steak, balmoral chicken to name a few. All delicious however I have noticed recently (my...

I have visited the boathouse on numerous occasions over the years (even had my 60th there) and had mainly positive experiences. But my visit on 2nd April was marred by the poor attitude of our waitress. We had been shown to our table without menus by the lady at door. Our waitress then approached us and in a very unfriendly...

The sercice is first class and the food is five star, the drinks are a bit pricy but the food and excellent sevice make up for that. Tha staff always make you welcome, well done to everyone working there. The restaurant is always spotless, well done team. I will be there next week with my family.

Very good food and a range which catered for adults and teenagers alike. Service was prompt and friendly. It is slightly more expensive than other restaurants in the immediate area but the surroundings are slightly higher standard.

My friends and I often pop over to the boathouse for a soft drink then a round of coffees/ hot chocolate etc. We generally go mid week and the service is normally good however this time we went on a Sunday evening. As usual we had our soft drinks and then at 9.00 pm we ordered the coffees, only to...

Waited 45 mins for 4 starters and 2 of them were soups to arrive. The Stornaway black pudding is what it is, a bit of black pudding with an egg on top. Main course was disappointing, I had the salmon and prawn salad ( a salad with NO tomatoes and no dressing. ) a dollop of prawn cocktail a dollop...

En route to an evening appointment we remembered this restaurant we had noticed on a previous canal trip. We were delighted with our choice, the staff were welcoming and efficient and soon had us seated in a comfortable spot looking out over the marina. Our time was limited and were anxious that we had enough time relax without worrying if...

I have visited the Boathouse many times. The service is always excellent and the location is very nice, especially on a nice Spring/Summer day. The menu has changed a few times as you would expect. I find it a bit limited now but that might just be me. We had a family meal with different main courses and everyone enjoyed...
