Had the best time staying at the City Green the staff were amazing very helpful and kept the hotel and its surroundings spotlessly clean, the food was good but a little repetitive like most all-inclusive hotels. The hotel is in the best place just off the main strip which for us is great . We love this hotel as it does not have entertainment and we just have to walk 2 minutes away if we want entertainment. The hotel is very good for a relaxing holiday. Thank you City Green. See you next year.
I am on day 8 of a two week holiday at this hotel. I would highly recommend as the staff are excellent. The staff on reception, bar, restaurant plus pool bar, are the best .Its a smaller hotel, in the town centre, easy to get to other areas on the island, making it perfect for trips and days out. The food is varied and off a good quality, you can always find something tasty, I'm sure iv put on weight. The rooms are newly refurbished, cleaning regularly and well. There are 2 pools here, with plenty of sunbeds, the sun beds and sunshine are free. Just come and enjoy.
This hotel was not for us. The all inclusive drinks are 8-11 which is fine, but the food is set meal times only and the snacks are two types of pasty which are sat by the bar in the sun all day. We booked a double room but got a twin with a mattress topper which still left a gap to fall down in the bed. Some of the staff were nice, some looked like they would rather be anywhere but.. Our air con leaked and ran down the wall onto the dressing table and it stank of chemicals. The pools were good and plenty of space around them. Our first night was horrendous as they didn’t have room for us, so we were put in temporary accommodation resulting in us loosing a morning due to having to swap and change. Entertainment is only on a Friday. Sadly it just didn’t live up to our expectations.
Excellent hotel. The staff are fantastic and very accommodating, they can’t do enough to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. Staff are very helpful. The facilities are good and the meals have something for everyone. Two good pools. A very good hotel and would recommend.
Nice hotel with friendly staff, nice clean rooms and very good location. Hotel also has two small swiming pools and a lot of sunbeds around. If you choose all inclusive, you can drink coctails at the pools all the time. Very good value for the money you pay.
Been here for 11 days only thing I can say bad is that the room was very small for a couple but we managed. The staff the most friendliest people I have met been abroad absolutely nothing a problem.Compliments to the chef food was outstanding the service in dining area especially jimmy Maria marina absolutely best people you could meet nothing a problem. can’t wait to re visit next year would recommend 110% (see youse all next year)xxx
Hi there. Me and my brother Peter spent a week in August in this cozy, tidy and quiet place with excellent service at any point. We got to know many friendly people who provided very high standard of customer service and natural, easygoing attitude to any issues occured. Beautifully placed restaurant ( on the top floor) with opened roof, delicious food and lovely, helpful staff, made up Our meals very special. They do know how to cook ;). We also recommend hotel's bar situated by the swimming pool where You can chill out taking good drink and nice conversation. Best regards guys! Hotel is not far from the sea. Water is clear and warm. If You are not all inclusive, You can find lots of shops nearby. And if You want to take any trip on your own, bus stop is really close to the starting point. It's perfect place to get rest, slow down and enjoy Your life. Thank You Perer and Paul…
1st time in Greece and it's really a pleasure to be here. Great staff members, great chef Giorgos and really kind waiters. Really nice food and rooms. Ideal hotel if you want to come with friends or a couple. Hotel is actually nearly in the center so going to a party near the beach takes about 3 minutes. The bar members are also great and really kind. I recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to go on a typical friend/couple trip, party and see some of the attractions that are within 30km range
We said we would be back......and we were....and this year was even better than last year......a more relaxed feeling to everything due to the lifting of all the Covid regulations. From the moment we arrived....very late at night...the staff were amazing. Dimitri was on check in on our arrival and he was very welcoming....and in a change from last year....the hotel now opens the rooftop restaurant for very late arrivals....the food was a cold plate offering of meats, breads, cheeses and fruits and drinks etc. The rooms haven't changed much in 1 year...not massive rooms, but enough room for 2 people.....the showers seem to get a lot of complaints from other reviewers.....I am 6 ft 2 inches tall and weigh 22 stone....if I can adapt to use the shower sufficiently, anyone can! Rooms were cleaned up, beds made, clean sheets and towels EVERY DAY....so the housekeeping team are doing a great job. We were recognised as returning guests by 4 members of staff....Manos the barman, Manos Snr who appears to do a bit of everything, Giorgiou the chef and Yeltin the table waiter......and they arranged for a bottle of chilled wine and a plate of fruit to be sent to our room...a very nice touch..thank you. Another addition this year, again, due to the lifting of restrictions, was an outdoor BBQ by the main pool with traditional Greek/Cretan music and dancing. We were treated with respect by every member of staff, and Mila, on reception was told by my wife on numerous occasions that she has a lovely smile....a smile goes a long way, especially in hospitality!🙂 No issues regarding the noise from the younger guests.....yes they could be loud at times...particularly at night....but they are young adults who are enjoying themselves....WE were young once! The food on offer in the restaurants is still of good quality.....sometimes it is not the hottest, but it is constantly being changed over during each service......the dessert selection DOES need to be more varied. If I had one critique, it would be the the tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms....for some reason, they are hidden away in the cupboard above the fridge....it would be better place on the table in the room itself....AND a supply of coffee/tea/sugar and milk for the guests on their arrival would be nice....particularly those who arrive late at night/ early hours.....just until they can get out to shop in morning to buy supplies. We loved our second visit to the City Green Hotel.....made some new friends and reconnected with the superb staff. We are already planning our return next year for our anniversary. Will there be any small alterations....who knows...but it is great and we would definitely recommend this hotel.…
We are a couple in our late 30s and stayed for 10 days in the middle of June. We arrived pretty late and were given access to the restaurant and a plate of cold food, which was much appreciated after a day of delays! We had booked a pool view and had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the larger pool. The room itself was lovely, fairly compact but big enough for us two, bathroom was quite small but normal size for Greece and balcony had enough room for two to sit out comfortably. Plus points in the room were the fantastic water pressure in the shower, the large size TV with HDMI ports for a fire stick/etc, comfy beds and the fridge, which was so cold it was almost freezing, a bonus for nearly 30 degree heat! The room was so quiet, heard a couple of doors slamming throughout the night but that's expected, never heard anything else and impressed by this considering the hotels location. Everything was really clean, the maids came in every day for a wee tidy up and bed linen and towels were replaced regularly. We spent most of our time at the larger pool, always able to get a sunbed regardless of when we ventured down, music was at a decent level and it was fairly chilled out, which was perfect for us. There were also some older kittens and cats around the pool area who were adorable, one particular kitten was extremely friendly, would have happily taken him home! We were all inclusive and found the beer cold and easy to drink, cocktails were nice enough also although they were all made from an orange based spirit, unless you wanted to pay extra. There was no entertainment at night apart from the Friday Greek BBQ night, which was really busy, we actually ended up going out to eat due to the length of the queue. There was always music at the bar but definitely a more relaxed vibe all round, music genre depended on who was working but was mostly decent enough. The restaurant was on the top floor and the views were tremendous! I'm a fussy eater and always managed to find something, the bread and salad were lovely and fresh and my partner, who eats anything, was really impressed with the different offerings day to day. Plenty of self serve juice, water and beer taps as well in the restaurant so no hanging about waiting on anything. We did have to buy big bottles of water from the shop, but shops were less than a minutes walk away and water was cheap. The location was perfect, in a little quiet side street but right next to the main street, with pubs, restaurants and shops only a couple of hundred feet away and the beach was less than a minutes walk. We managed to book a late check out as we weren't flying til later on at night, we had to move to another room on the 1st floor, which was no issue, the room and bathroom were a little bit bigger and there was a Juliet balcony that looked out onto the street. My partner said he would've preferred the bigger room and bathroom but I don't think it's worth compromising the balcony and view for, it was also much noisier as well being right next to the street. Staff were always polite and helpful, and worked extremely hard. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we planned a relaxing, easy going holiday. …
