We were very fortunate to be put in touch with Jupiter and his wife of the Casa Alvarada recently. Jupiter runs a tour company (Admiremexico.com) that has many tours. He is a man with a solid knowledge of his region and a warm personality to add to the tours. He and his wife run the B & B and the...

Mr. Jupiter Rivera was a wonderful host for my quick trip to Manzanillo and Colima. He met me at the Manzanillo airport and drove me to his B&B. Along the way he provided a lot of educational and colorful commentary of the local life. His B&B was comfortable, clean, and only 2 blocks from the town square of Comala, with...

The whole experience was seamless. Casa Alvarada is run by a charming couple who´s family has deep roots in the town of Comala. The instalations are very homey, but with all the amenities of a hotel. The owners are right at hand, but not around unless you need them. The breakfast included in the package was a grand surprise -...

We visited in March 2010 and arrived on a Sunday afternoon to very comfortable rooms. It is a nice quiet place with off street parking behind a locked gate. It is not the HIlton, but the attention and friendliness of the hosts Jupiter and Mara made it feel like one. It is about 3 blocks from the town square and...

We had a great time in Casa Alvarada. Communication to confirm our stay was not great but that was just a minor detail. The service was great and the only thing I did not like is that I did not have the rooms I was told at the time of reservation. I actually slept in the room with the kitchenette...

Comala is a charming little colonial town and definitely worth a brief stop. There are not a lot of lodgings to choose from, and Casa Alvarada looked appealing. They have a good website, and the price was reasonable. We only stayed one night, but as others have mentioned, there's really not a lot to do there once you've experienced the...

Dad says.... We wanted to stay around Colima for a few days to break up the drive from the beach to Guadalajara. We found Casa Alvarada's website and the photos of the place made it look really nice. We then checked the reviews here and we decided we'd give it a try. We found the hotel really easily. Actually the...

We were driving and arrived at Casa Alvarada by going around and around and missing it because it is not sporting a big sign. When we finally asked directions we were across the street! The hosts were about 15 minutes late meeting us there even though they gave us explicit directions to meet them at 3. But this is Mexico...
