Very cool location. Away from it all and actually quite a bit to do in the surrounding area. So highly recommend hanging out for a few days here... longer if you can! Awesome hosts, got a great view in the apartment which is a cool option with two bedrooms and kitchen facilities. Basically a batch really. Would do again for... More

First impressions were that this property was much more impressive than the advertisement indicated. The apartment was huge and airy. The slow combustion fire was very welcome on the chilly wet winter nights we stayed. Although, the downside of the apartment being so big and airy, it was hard to heat. We pretty much retired to bed as soon as... More

For the price they are charging I am unsure how the management sleep at night! Very very tired accommodation, very dirty cooking facilities and continuous issue that the management either refused to remedy or were just not capable. Never again

Kitchen facilities had a foul odour. Smelled like a dead rat mixed with rotten fish. The odour was so bad you could smell it before you went into the kitchen. To the point that the food we put inside the chilly bags in the fridge stank that bad we had to throw the bags and contents away. The lady was... More

Vicki, the Camp Manager very welcoming and obliging. Excellent facilities all kept very clean. We took the caravan accommodation option which was most comfortable. Abundant bird life around the camp. Long beachfront across the road. Plentiful large cockles available for picking at low tide. Good information on the many interesting and varied walks. A visit to Wharariki beach at low... More

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights in the apartment and a caravan. At first we were a little disappointed at how close to the (albeit very quiet) road it was, but we later enjoyed the location. The apartment has a great lounge area with lovely views over golden bay. The beach is very tidal and we could... More

Last summer we did a camping trip around the top of the South Island and Farewell Spit was the last place we stopped. When we were looking for accommodation there were limited campsites and we decided to stay at Farewell Gardens as it was closest to Farewell Spit. This area was very quiet unlike some of the other campsites and... More

We stayed in the 'cabin' for two nights. We were a bit dissappointed with the standard for what we paid. The level of cleanliness was very poor, we weren't sure if it had actually been cleaned. There was dirt on the floor, ants in the fridge, and an unidentified something spilled all over the benchtop. Sadly when we went to... More

We stayed here in Feb 2014 and had intended to stay 2 nights and move on, but the place is so nice and close to all the day trips and beach walks etc we stayed 4. It`s small, but the sites are quite adequate. They have everything that you`ll need here and the managers were really friendly with loads of... More

Stayed 1 night in one of their caravans. Comfy beds, & fridge to keep food & beverages chilled. Amenities were clean but water use needs to be curtailed in late summer as it is rain supply. Kitchens had fridges, cookers, pots/pans etc with outdoor tables. Laundry facilities and ablutions v clean.
