We came here for Sunday lunch at the weekend, it was one of the very best. Meat cooked to perfection, crispy roast potatoes, ample well cooked veg. The staff are always very nice, can't do enough for you. We then came on the following Thursday, and had a starter of fresh potted crab, with toasted Artisan bread, followed by the...

Dear Linda. Thank you for your kind words and we hope you can take the time to come and stay with us soon to complete your experience. We have been working day and night to make The Helyar Arms the fabulous country pub it deserves to be and will continue to do so. Patrick and Claire.

Dropped in for evening meal en route home, menu was exactly as the website (no daily specials). Good value for money, starter of chicken livers with apple and walnuts very well prepared and a main course of sirloin in tarragon sauce (warm) on a salad of mixed leaves with pea shoots and baby broad beans ideal for the warm summer...

If you are ever in the Yeovil area and need a place to stay this is it. We found it by chance on google and so glad we did. We were greeted by Patrick who made us feel at home straight away. We needed a cab to the Yeovil show ground which was quite a wait. "I'll take you he...

We stayed one night on our way home in this charming old pub, tastefully decorated, in a very pretty village. Our room was comfy, quiet and spotless with an ensuit shower. Dinner was good, served by friendly staff and the breakfast was great too. The owners are lovely people and we wish them every success, they deserve it. We hope...

Thank you Roz. We are very lucky with our location here in East Coker and we would not be doing such a charming village location justice if we did not make The Helyar Arms a proper country pub that people want to visit over and over again. Patrick & Claire.

We had been recommended this place by a friend, so went without great expectations. First impressions very clean and beautifully decorated, it was a Thursday lunchtime so expected it a bit quiet, which it was. Jake welcomed us, a delightful young man with very good manners, and poured me a pint of very good Otter , and handed me the...

It seems that we are getting more and more visitors to the pub based on recommendations from previous diners, even though we only re-opened at the start of the year. Our team have worked hard to help get us to a point where people are telling others to come to The Helyar Arms. Thank you. Patrick & Claire.

Excellent service, owners and staff very friendly always willing to help. Both food and beer was very good, ate there most evenings. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable -- free wifi included. Location meant that most journeys involved driving on single track roads. There were no shops, other restaurants, etc in walking distance so car essential. However its rural location...

Hello Brian and thank you for taking the time to review the pub. We are very lucky to be just a short drive from the market town of Yeovil and still have that quintessentially country pub location here in East Coker. Do come and visit us again soon. Patrick & Claire.

Hosts and staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout my visit. This was particularly appreciated as a single traveller. Evening meal and breakfast were exceptional with locally produced food. A lovely country inn in a delightfully rural setting. I wish it was closer to home to enable more frequent visits but I'm definitely intending to return.

I wish we could stay longer. It is old pub with rooms. Food was excellent!, very fresh locally sourced,we had the best sausages ever, not like typical English sausages. Owners very friendly and helpful. The village and the surrounding countryside beautiful. We will be back soon

We visited in Autumn 2015 and were not impressed, however I believe they have new management, so will give them another chance. The service, food quantity and quality at the time was was below our expectations and with better places locally we eat elsewhere on Sundays. They have a reasonable sized car park and they have a varied menu, so...

Do please come and visit soon as your review in no way represents The Helyar Arms, the team and us as the new owners since we took over earlier and re-opened earlier this year. Do book early for Sunday dinner though or you will struggle to get a table. Patrick & Claire.
