We paid about A$800 for 4 nights for this private two storey bungalow on the south eastern corner of Moorea with nothing but sand between our toes, and nothing but the reef and the ocean between us and the big island of Tahiti Nui on the distant horizon. These bungalows are traditional islander dwellings with solid thatched shutters for windows...

This is a beautiful place on the edge of the lagoon. Perfect for a restful day, but there are no cafes or restaurants within walking or even a short drive. So you have to self cater, There's a local supermarket in Afereaitu with all the basics, also a Champion Supermarket by the Ferry port. The Fares are quaint and quirky...

I felt unsafe the whole time here and rightly so. Something is not right here. The owner insists you lock all doors and windows even when relaxing here. No surprise we were robbed and I was woken by the thief shining a torch in my face when I called out they fled not before taking all my money and my...

Lovely place, very well located. And we had a life time experience : seeing whales just in front of our bungalow ! Lucky that we've been there at this season , when whales are migrating from Antartica to give birth. The owner (she's an artist) seems to know a lot about humpback whales (I think she published a photo album...

...and very relaxing. Our bungalow was just on the beach and the sound of the waves is so relaxing. People there gave us very good advice on what to do on the island. It does change from our usual stays in hotels and we did really appreciate: charming and astonishng view of the ocean.

It was a pleasant surprise. We didn't expect such a peaceful place, just by the sea, just in front of the Lagonarium. It's beautiful and very natural place (a sea protected area). We loved this experience. It was relaxing and interesting.
