I can't say enough good things about this hotel! The minute we arrived I told my husband I wish we could extend our stay! Unfortunately, we had only four days at this absolutely beautiful place before we had to return to reality. I couldn't be more pleased with the Hotel La Casa De Marita. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival by Marita and members of her staff with smiles and delicious fruit juice. We stayed in the Mediterraneo Suite. The room was very spacious, super clean and comfortable with a porch overlooking the ocean. Robes, hair dryer, refrig, and fresh drinking water were provided. Beach towels are available at the front desk. The breakfast buffet is superb, and they even gave us boxed breakfasts on the morning we left as we had an early departure. We took advantage of the tapas and drinks special on the patio in the evening; and enjoyed a few afternoon pina coladas, which are to die for! We had dinner there one night, and honestly, I could have eaten there every night it was that good. The service overall was excellent, everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! Marita even snagged us some last-minute tours that were terrific and complete with lunch and taxi service! And the tours! Oh my gosh - but that's for another post. Loved this hotel. Loved our stay and can't wait to return!…
We stayed 3 nights here as part of a group and really enjoyed our time. The room was very spacious and the views were incredible. The breakfast each morning was nice and we really liked spending time on our patio off the room. Would recommend again for sure.
We arrived to Isabella after a rough boat trip and exhausting day. What are your basic expectations? To have a good shower and descent bed. So.... No and no. Today was our second day. The water can be warm, but never got. Today we had cold shower, giving up waiting for the water to heat as they promised us. Decent bed? There are beds in our rooms covers with sheets but no clean blankets to help warm up in the chilly nights. The blankets in the rooms are old and smelly and must kept away. Breakfast was ok. The location is very good and the view is fantastic. It is our third hotel in Galapagos. In terms of value for money this is the lowest class.
We were welcomed personally by Marita to her house/casa and it just got better from there. The oceanfront room with its stupendous view was unbelievable. We spent tranquil stretches of time relaxing in the hammocks on the huge balcony watching marine iguanas coming ashore and viewing frigate birds. We had dinner there every night and it was delicious. Same goes for the freshly made breakfast. No request went unfulfilled. They even prepared the fruit we picked on our farm tour on Isabella including a pineapple as part of our breakfast. Marita came to see us off when we leaving Isabella and wish us well. This is truly a hotel where one can step back from the hubbub of life and take a true, albeit, short break. Thank you Marita from Gary and Bina.
We knew the moment we walked into the garden courtyard entrance we had made the right decision. Casa Marita sits right on the ocean and you can feel and hear the ocean breeze. The staff was there to greet us with their friendly smiles. We felt at home the instance we walked in the main lobby. This boutique hotel provides the correct balance of amenities but still true to its local presence. Recently, updated we loved the white tile floors and fresh paint. The Jr. Suite (amarillo) was large and comfortable overlooking the bay. It was private, quite and at the same time there was always staff to assist. We wanted for nothing!!! Marita was gracious, kind and so helpful. We also appreciated all Arianne assistance with everything that needed to be coordinated. It was worth every penny. The breakfast and the view are fantastic.…
We are SO happy to have stayed at Casa de Marita!!!! Marita met us upon arrival and was so warm and welcoming. This hotel is GORGEOUS and very clean and is located right on the beach in one of the prettiest areas we saw during our trip. The whole staff is wonderful and helpful, offering plenty of advice on excursions and bike rentals and anything else you need. They offer laundry service, which was quick and affordable. There are plenty of comfortable lounging areas and the breakfast they put out is UNBELIEVABLE. I would highly recommend this place!!!!! Also there's a FANTASTIC bar/restaurant way up on stilts that we walked to every night to enjoy drinks and the sunset... and fresh seafood. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!!
We where planning on staying at this hotel on our trip to the Galapagos. When canceling our trip due to illness and covid travel restrictions, this place was one of the hotels that would not honor a refund.
Clean, comfortable, no frills. Breakfast was nice, and farm-fresh with many of the items from Marita's farm in the highlands. You can request eggs to order (although I don't think they advertise this). Marita was a lovely hostess and she helped confirm our next transit plans. Power went out on our first night on the island, had to use a cell phone flashlight to find the way home. Once at the hotel, they provided flashlights for all guests. Also, worth mentioning that everyone we interacted with in the reception area had excellent English. (General tips for the island: you will sunburn in 30 minutes of even overcast skies--bring SPF70 and maybe a 2nd bottle. Local pricing is $30+. Bring Sawyer mosquito repellent. And maybe avoid March, their hottest month. The midday heat was stifling. Also, we aware that your bedroom may be the only place with AC. Every single restaurant was open-air. Everyone on the island was friendly though, and it even took several days for our dive tour company to let us settle the bill....island time.)…
We would stay here again. Beach chairs, towels, outside shower. On the beach. Next to a nice little mangrove where marine iguanas hang out. Easy walk to concha and town. Staff is very friendly. Room was very spacious.
Stayed at the La Casa de Marita in Feb 2020. The location of this hotel is very convenient - it is right on the Puerto Villamil beach. Their patio literally opens onto the beach, has hammocks and rocking chairs to use while you enjoy the sound of the waves. The staff is very attentive and courteous. The layout of the hotel is like a beach-house, the decor and landscaping is very interesting and inviting. They have a restaurant on site as well. The rooms were clean and air conditioning was available.
