This hotel sits on the beach and you can walk straight from the sea to your room, stopping only to wash your feet and stretch out on a desk chair with a drink from the small bar. The whole place has been personalized by the artist owner and has a vivid charm of its own. The rooms are clean and spacious with modern wet floor bathrooms. Note that such are the environmental conditions on Galapagos that your toilet tissues must be put in the small bin and not in the toilet basin. You soon get used to this. There are no TVs in the rooms but with everything else Isabella town has to offer it will not be missed. Quiet and comfortable rooms.
We had a garden view, (rooms are named, ours was called Jardin of course), but there are several with sea views. There are two levels for rooms and a top floor restaurant overlooking the sea. Breakfasts are served there too, and are delicious with a good selection made from local ingredients, some from the hosts farm.
This hotel is highly recommended and is very good value.

This is a funky little hotel, well located on a very quiet section of long, quiet white sand beach. All of the hotel rooms face the ocean, more or less. Although our room was large, it was oddly shaped with a spare bed stuck in a sort of wide hallway with a small door at the other end. We were provided with a very modest breakfast in a beautiful enclosed porch overlooking the ocean. The food was OK, but with limited variety, and not great. We were told that "things take longer" in these islands, and thus were prepared for minor delays, but we were not too happy about having to wait for more than an hour for a dinner that was promised to be delayed by only 10 or 15 minutes. There was only one other party at the restaurant at this time. I now believe they were short staffed, but they did not tell us this, so the waiting became awkward. Dinner arrived about 8:15pm instead of 7pm.

Casa de Marita is near perfect for anyone in love with the beach, island culture, and sea creatures at your doorstep. The staff is personal and efficient, our rooms (Mango and Lila) were connected by a small door and had mind blowing views of the gorgeous upper decks with views of perfect lava rock laced beach. Easy walk to town but not in the middle of noisy throng of New Years celebrations. I'm with iguanas and sea lions right in front of the hotel. Food is lovely, simple, delicious, local. This place is a dream.

What an excellent place to stay! The rooms were eclectic, the stairs down into the bathroom may not have been ideal for people with mobility issues, however the view, friendliness, service and care taken for guests was second to none. The breakfast was average, but of good quality and location to both the town centre and port was perfect. A very pleasing short stay!

This hotel is ideal. The location is perfect: at the end of the beach in front of tidal pools with sea lions playing in the waves in the morning. Watch the amazing sun set, eat their delicious home grown food, spend the day on the beach or exploring the island. The staff are all happy and friendly. The owner is on site and could not be more helpful. One of our party was sick and she actually drove him to the clinic, arranged his care, and went to the farmacia; it was like staying with family. We went with friends but there were many families with children having a great time. We will go back to Isabela and to Casa de Marita.

My friend and I stayed four nights at La Casa de Marita in December 2019 during the land based part of our Galapagos trip and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel with its wooden structure, palm trees and beautiful beach and sea views is situated in a quieter spot of Puerto Vuillamil, just a few minutes walk from the center and has a very relaxing atmosphere. We received a warm welcome and the personnel was extremely helpful throughout, be it with advice regarding excursions or rebooking our ferry tickets. We booked tours with Isabela Dive Center on their recommendation and they were a great success. Good breakfast buffet and delicious meals on offer in the restaurant (e.g.encocado de camaron). And what is nicer than walking out to the beach and just be able to observe a sea lion who happens to be playing in the little cove close to the hotel... Would definitely choose to stay there again!

Stayed at the La Casa de Marita in Feb 2020. The location of this hotel is very convenient - it is right on the Puerto Villamil beach. Their patio literally opens onto the beach, has hammocks and rocking chairs to use while you enjoy the sound of the waves. The staff is very attentive and courteous. The layout of the hotel is like a beach-house, the decor and landscaping is very interesting and inviting. They have a restaurant on site as well. The rooms were clean and air conditioning was available.

We were welcomed personally by Marita to her house/casa and it just got better from there. The oceanfront room with its stupendous view was unbelievable. We spent tranquil stretches of time relaxing in the hammocks on the huge balcony watching marine iguanas coming ashore and viewing frigate birds. We had dinner there every night and it was delicious. Same goes for the freshly made breakfast. No request went unfulfilled. They even prepared the fruit we picked on our farm tour on Isabella including a pineapple as part of our breakfast. Marita came to see us off when we leaving Isabella and wish us well. This is truly a hotel where one can step back from the hubbub of life and take a true, albeit, short break. Thank you Marita from Gary and Bina.

Casa de Marita is a quaint property located right on the beach. We had a ocean front room which was huge and had a balcony. The view was beautiful and you can hear waves crashing non stop. They need more comfy furniture though, the hammock was falling apart & wooden chairs were uncomfortable.
Wi-Fi only works in reception, it’s understandable as a small island. We ended up spending more time down there then we’d prefer in order to check mail, etc. Breakfast was mostly buffet, we learned to get there early in order to have enough fruit and egg dishes. The staff were nice and overall a good stay on the beach. Easy few blocks into town.

We knew the moment we walked into the garden courtyard entrance we had made the right decision. Casa Marita sits right on the ocean and you can feel and hear the ocean breeze. The staff was there to greet us with their friendly smiles. We felt at home the instance we walked in the main lobby. This boutique hotel provides the correct balance of amenities but still true to its local presence. Recently, updated we loved the white tile floors and fresh paint. The Jr. Suite (amarillo) was large and comfortable overlooking the bay. It was private, quite and at the same time there was always staff to assist. We wanted for nothing!!! Marita was gracious, kind and so helpful. We also appreciated all Arianne assistance with everything that needed to be coordinated. It was worth every penny. The breakfast and the view are fantastic.

Dear Dapger, the main island to take boats to the other populated islands is Santa Cruz (because is located in the middle between San Cristobal, Isabela and Floreana).
