We stayed more than 2 weeks on the Galapagos and this was our favourite place. It is simple but has everything you need (including a private equipped kitchen and free laundry service). Lauro the owner is very sweet and can help you organise the volcano tour and high quality bikes! The hostel is easy to reach by foot and it take 5 minutes to walk to the beach! We highly recommend this place:)

When we arrived on Isla Isabela, we were looking for on hotel for the next day, for three nights. The receptionist at Caminante hotel said he still has room and we agreed on the price for three nights (20USD/night), we even paid in advance the first night. 24 hours later, when we arrived to check-in, he said he received at lot of internet reservations and thus demanded 40 USD/night... We refused, asked to be reimbursed and left. So be careful to the dishonnest methods in this hotel!!

Ok hostel outside of town. Room was big and beds were fine. Lacked air con but did have a fan so was a little stuffy at times. No room cleaning for our 3 nights stay so soon became sandy and untidy. Free bananas and water were a plus! Free laundry service was handy too...although clothes were cleaned and left to dry on the floor?! The hostel kindly lent us some snorkel gear which was good! Tours were offered at the hostel but it turned out these were $10-$20 more expensive than those in town. An ok place to stay on Isabela to keep prices to a minimum.

There are two Posada del caminante hostels and they belong to the same owner. I ended up in the smaller one which would have been fine if I wouldn't have been the only one there. There was no atmosphere. The girl who works there was very nice and always talked to me but it was often hard to find some member of the staff. There were constructions in front of the hostel so we ended up without any running water for a while which was very unpleasant. On the other side, the hostel offers free fresh fruits which are very nice and the set up is good too. They have lots of hammocks, even so only one is comfy. The rooms were clean though and the beds good. Sadly the windows didn't close all the way so the mosquitoes could come in. I'm sorry to say that I would choose another hostel next time. Or make sure to end up in the bigger one of the two.

This is a nice place where you can rest after a full day of activities at the island. Location good, the kitchen has everything you might need. bedroom was confortable ( even whe the neighbor's roster decided to make some noise at 4am)

We tried to find a nice private room for a low price all around the Galápagos, and this was the only place we got it. Normally on the Galápagos you pay USD 20-40 for a private double room and get next to nothing, or even nothing. But this place gives you so much value for this amount! Where do I start.. Cozy courtyard with TV and a lot of hammocks, free fruit and water, big rooms, 2 beds, nice private kitchen with stoves and fridge, pots and pans, coffee, oil etc. in the room. Private bathroom with semi cold shower (they usually have a common warm shower room behind the reception), and the staff and owners are really kind, they even ask for your laundry and do it for free! Best value hostel you will find in the Galápagos, that is for sure :)

They washed our clothes for free. Free oranges, bananas and water. It's not far from restaurants and it's a lot cheaper than the hostels in the "center" of the town. Cute dogs hang around the hammocks aswell ❤️

We arrived on Isabela a day late because of flight and ferry confusion, and they gladly refunded us the night we missed. There were always bananas and oranges out for the guests and we were always greeted very nicely by the family that owned and worked the hostel. I would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for five star luxury, go somewhere else and pay for it! If you want simple, clean accommodation, go here. Avoid the ground floor room near the office if possible, water pump revving up at all hours is not cool! WiFi works as well as can be expected in the Galapagos, comfy hammocks in shady chill out area outside. We found the owner friendly and hospitable. No English so learn some basic Spanish and make your life easier!
