We paid 1000 baht for a "superior beach front bungalow" which was in fact a very basic wooden hut. Website says "modern bathroom" and "fitted wardrobe" - see pictures. Having visited others, I believe a fair price for this accommodation would be 600 - 700 baht maximum. Electricity available only from 6 pm to 6 am and wifi during limited... More

The Hornbill Huts are a nice quiet place on the beach with accommodations somewhere between backpacker and flash packer standards. They keep the bungalows clean as well as the grounds. There is a restaurant on site. But no pool and only partial electricity. The staff are a bit moody so i did not know if i would be greeted with... More

Their website says: "Welcome To Hornbill Hut : Koh Phayam Ranong We care about personal touch and we will give you our undivided attention"... They were unfriendly, cold. We had to ask about EVERYTHING! The husband and wife acted like we were bothering them if we had questions, made like they couldn't speak good English except if they wanted our... More

At the Hornbill Hut we had a very unique and beautiful experience which I still get feel good vibes from just remembering it. We arrived after a long haul from Bangkok by bus, pickup truck, ferry, and motorcycle at sunset, being instantly handed a drink as we clambered off the motorcycles. Being completely exhausted we went straight to bed after... More

Firstly let's set your expectations. This is a low budget accommodation resort, not a top end place, so don't get disappointed if you don't get a red carpet. This said, if you are used to Thai standards and are looking for a get away from it all place you will probably find that Hornbill Hut ticks many of the boxes... More

I stayed in their 500 baht bungalow, which was a newish building, if you want the best it will cost 1,200 b. What I liked about hornbill huts was the quiet location, at night you only hear the waves, also their restaurant served good food at a reasonable price. They also have WiFi and electricity throughout the night.

We had the deluxe beach front bungalow which was very clean and well equiped. The resort area is nice and clean and is integrated into the nature. Friendly owner and very supportive stuff. We can realy recommend this resort.

My Fiance and I stayed here for 6 days in mid December after combing the beach and not being able to find anything else. Holiday season here is fully booked and accommodations of any length are hard to come by. The staff were very helpful and friendly but the the best reason to visit is the food. This kitchen produces... More

Hornbill Hut is one of the older resorts on Koh Phayam and the bungalows reflect it’s age, this is not a criticism our room was very pleasant, clean and spacious, set among many trees which gave good shade during the day and kept the room cool. There is a lovely platform by the beach where you can watch the sunset... More
