This chateau, set in Bordeaux's wine country, offers an elegant, peaceful and special retreat to its guests. The grounds are quiet and spacious. We saw deer, swans and fish in this idyllic setting. The rooms are quaintly luxurious, with large, modern and indulgent baths. The beds are perfectly comfortable. The breakfasts were superb! Carla, the owner, made excellent suggestions for... More

This hidden gem is just out from Bordeaux. The house and premises is beautiful! The bathroom is something else (it's massive and modern!). The owner is very delightful to deal with and speaks very good English, highly commended. Room comes with a basic French breakkie.

We stayed at Chateau Lamothe for two nights and had such a wonderful time and didn't want to leave. The chateau is beautiful and quiet, the room was immaculate and thoughtfully put together and the little dog Bella was an added benefit for us.

A beautiful maintained and peaceful property. A rare gem that is centrally located in Bordeaux, an ideal base for your explorations of the region. We felt very welcome and very relaxed during our stay, hospitality at its finest. A wonderful and plentiful French style breakfast beginning at 9am, it doesn't get better than this. If you are a couple that... More

This hidden jewel about 20 mins from the City of Bordeaux was a treasure. The B&B only has about 5 rooms. It's a great place if you are traveling with friends as well, as we booked 3 of the rooms. The owner was friendly, and has the cutest little dog named, Bella. The property is expansive, and the home is... More

It's all very grand when you drive up the tree-lined drive and see the castle with its moat looming up. Our room was spectacular, enormous and had a very comfortable bed, and a separate bathroom that was bigger than many a hotel room I've stayed in. All charmingly decorated. lots of antiques and quirky little details in the room and... More

Dear guest, thank you very much for your kind review and feedback. We are family run and do serve breakfast from 9am, I understand that a 9am may be a late start for some guests, however we do try to accommodate slightly earlier if requested. Apologies for any misunderstanding. We hope to welcome you again. Regards Carla More

Of our many trips to France, not only was Bordeaux one of our best all round travel experiences, but our stay at Chateau Lamothe was a slice of heaven and a sanctuary at the end of every day. We spent 4 nights here in the Prince Noir suite on the second floor up a beautiful stair case. No worries with... More
