Battle Harbour is a well-maintained former fishing village. Accommodations are in local houses, owned by the Battle Harbour Trust and updated to 5* level. Scenery is wonderful! Iceburgs and whales appeared while I was there! Food is excellent! Ferry to and from Mary's Harbour is...More
This was by far one of the best events of our trip to Newfoundland/Labrador. We were in the Slade Room of the Merchants Building which was so perfect. The staff really goes beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Myrtle and her crew in the kitchen...More
Our stay at Battle Harbor was the highlight of our recent trip to Newfoundland and Labrador. You take a 90 minute boat ride from Mary's Harbor out to the island and on the ride we saw a black bear and circled iceburgs. This historical island...More

Thanks so much for the answer. I'm still not certain if we'll make the journey as I guess there no longer is an option for the day trip to Battle Harbor and I don't know if I can get a room for the night we have planned. The reviews are terrific though, as are so many for so many places in Labrador and New Foundland. If you have the time and would like to tell me more of your trip I would love to hear. We're including mainly the western part of the province, driving in a camper from Maine, visiting the Northern Peninusla, Gros Morne, the Baie Verte peninsula and Twillingate area, I dont' think we'd have time to go to Farro Island if we did Battle Harbour, and not going any further east. Our trip is the end of June and first couple weeks of July, hoping to see icebergs and maybe the early whales. Thanks again for your info.
