We stayed here for a 4 night break to celebrate an anniversary and were delighted by the way we were looked after, the lovely room, the wonderful breakfasts and the beautiful house. There are so many lovely touches. This is the place to stay if you want to be in this area.

As I walked in after a 6 hour drive I was bowled over - beautiful rooms equipped to the last detail, fabulous location and not to mention the welcoming hosts! Why am I writing this .... Do I really want anyone else to find this place?!

We have just returned from Highfield house after staying their for the second year running. It is exceptional and I was in two minds about writing a review simply because I don't want to spoil the hidden gem that is like a second home to us. We were in the North of England visiting family and our stay with Caroline...

You will not want to leave this bedroom - the bed is possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in! You can tell that all the linen is of a very high quality. Add to that a bathroom that is fit for a Queen and a host for whom nothing is too much trouble and this is a pretty...

We had a truly wonderful stay at Highfield House. The owner, Caroline, as the perfect host, and her attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the house, our room and the welcome we received. The house is stunning, beautifully appointed and managed to be both exquisitely grand whilst cosy and homely. The grounds were ideal for a short...

My husband and I stayed at Highfield House for one night towards the end of our 4 week honeymoon. It was by far the nicest place we stayed, and our only regret is that we only had one night there. Caroline is a wonderful host, the house and bedrooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. The bed was large and very...

We had a delightful stay. As the previous review said, the attention to detail was superb - fresh cakes, a refilled fruit bowl (that our 3 year old daughter loved) and fresh milk for the coffee in the room. A delicious breakfast in the morning and very friendly hosts. Very family friendly, our daughter enjoyed playing with the many toys...

We enjoyed a fabulous four days in this guest house. The attention to detail was fantastic, and nothing was too much trouble if we asked for information etc. The breakfast was superb with a very good selection to choose from. The rooms were absolutely beautiful. A gem of a place and a super host.

Thank Caroline C
