Roaring fire, good music and friendly staff, busier than expected for a quiet little town in the South Island. Pub grub but really nice. Had the steak and chips. Really yum and plenty of it. The apple pie was more like a shortcake but pleasant.

Does need some up dating but the restraunt is great for food. Room clean and nice for a quick stay. Went Winter and only have space heaters but great bed and quiet. Get the lamb shank! Great location. Must go to the tearoom down the...More
