Traded our Marriott Aruba timeshare because we hadn't been in Sint Maarten in over twenty years and I wanted to see it. Although the resort is a notch below a Marriott in general, the unit was fine, we had a great time, easy parking right outside our unit after our many excursions around both the French and Dutch sides. Suggest asking for a unit on the southern end of the complex because that it close to the beach access. The pool was always very crowded, but the beach always had chairs available and a small tip to the attendant got you a private umbrella. Don't take a room overlooking the veranda bar: noisy. Sacrifice an ocean view (for an Oyster Pond view) if you must to get a south end unit. Lastly, resort should value highly Justin at the Veranda Bar. Incredibly friendly and welcoming. (One time I was waiting nearby the bar to pick up a takeout because after a long day of touring, we decided to eat in. Justin came out from behind the bar just to ask if my wife was okay because she wasn't with me as usual. Now what's that kind of friendliness from a resort staff worth?)…
One glorious week in paradise is just not enough! The weather was perfect, the food delicious, the rooms beautiful and enough can’t be said about the friendly and helpful staff. The Infinity pool is beautiful and spacious, the ocean views fabulous! Thirsty? David is sure to create a tasty beverage just for you. Hungry? Meals/drinks can be served poolside, in the courtyard or in the Infinity Restaurant for a more upscale atmosphere. Or dine at the Veranda Market & Bistro for a cozy, casual experience. Unfortunately, the seaweed keeps increasing. Oyster Bay is not responsible for Mother Nature. The beach itself is still lovely. Seaweed is removed daily from the beach. along the water’s edge. That said, it is still possible to enjoy a day at Dawn Beach under the palm trees with lounge chairs and beach umbrellas provided free of charge. We did swim in the ocean a few days. Other days we read on the beach and swam in the pool. No problem. We did not rent a car this time and enjoyed a low key, relaxing vacation. Dionelle & Phillip at registration are great. Special shout out to Cristal, Yanet & Jamie at the Veranda Bistro. David & Elizabeth at the Infinity Bar, Anias at the beach, Juan for driving us to the airport and Danny 007 for driving us from the airport. Thank you for making our stay so much more!…
We spent 3 weeks of time share at this resort and we were disappointed with the 2 bedroom unit that we were given. However, we did face the ocean and that was probably the best part of the condo. But room 2522 was at best a 2.5 resort. The reception area needs upgrades and the walkway to the beach was dated and needs renovations. The beach was not what it was 20 years ago. The last hurricane brought temperature changes that brought weeds on the beach. In the morning, there was at least 6 inches of weeds on the beach so walking the beach was not very pleasant until they were picked up by a special tractor. The market place prices were very high and the taxi service, although fairly good, was very expensive on the way back to the resort. I have to say though that our cleaning lady Precieuse took good care of our rooms and was very pleasant. But overall, my expectations were not met.…
First time in Saint Martin for my wife and I. We were very happy with the oyster Bay Beach resort, and all staff. The resort is located right on the border of the French and Dutch side and there’s a great hopping off point for day trips with a spectacular view and pool and bars if you just want to spend the day at the resort Special kudos to Felix, who greeted us upon arrival. He provided us with a tour of the entire facility. Give us many recommendations for dining out, and day trips, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and to make the stay special for us. The entire staff was very professional and welcoming, from the bartenders to the front desk to the restaurant team. Cynthia, the manager also took time out to ensure that we were happy with our room and the accommodations.…
Loved this resort. Very clean. Bar staff and restaurant staff top notch and ensured quality service. Need to commend the resort for creating a position for pool area, where Lucie sets up chairs and umbrellas. Lucie is fantastic and I cannot say enough good things about her. She does her job extremely well; she is fair, professional and vigilant when it comes to people "reserving chairs" when the policy states that this is not tolerated (there is a clear sign in the pool area outlining rules for guests).
We stayed here for a week on a timeshare exchange. We had never been to the island. The resort has its pros and cons, like every resort does. We had a one-bedroom with a small kitchenette which was excellent for the two of us. We bought groceries and had breakfast and some easy dinners in the room. The air conditioning unit didn't seem to be working at full force and then flashed an error code. We called the front desk and within minutes someone came over. After he assessed the problem, I received a call from the front desk within about a half hour asking if anyone had arrived. To me, that spoke volumes as they cared a lot to follow up and they cared to send someone over immediately. The same thing occurred when we called for a few extra shower towels. Our room was in a fantastic location in that we had views to the marina and the buildings by Dawn beach. It was extremely quiet. We didn't hear anyone next to us while we were inside our rooms. The treadmills and other gym equipment could definitely be updated. I only used the treadmill once and we walked a 4.5 mile loop from our resort around the island and back. If you do that, get ready for some steep hills if you leave the resort and go left. It was well worth it with spectacular views. Just be careful of the dogs at some of the properties you'll pass. At one home, it was gated, but the dogs jumped up on the retaining wall and barked like crazy when we were on the opposite side of the street. Very scary in that I wasn't sure if they were going to come after us. The bar staff was great, but short handed. One evening we sat at the bar by Dawn beach which is off the grocery store/market. It took us an hour and a half to get three side dishes we ordered because they were out of the impossible burger and the impossible sticks. We had drinks and waited, but that was a little too long to get French fries, mac and cheese, and rice in my opinion. The resort was very clean. When I went to Dawn beach there weren't any chairs and one of the workers offered to bring me one. I didn't ask and I wasn't going to because I figured there weren't any left, but he was kind to offer and kind to bring me not one, but two; not knowing I was with anyone else.…
We stayed in a courtyard ocean front room and I cannot stress enough that if you stay in this type of room, you will hear karaoke or a band almost every night. And every morning you will be woke. Up by music coming from the pool between 7-7:30am. We got terrible sleep because of this! Justin and Jammy at the Veranda bar were the best!
This was our first time on St Martin. We didn’t know what to expect. Kathleen and Shannelle in reservations did an excellent job helping us book a beautiful room right above the water so we could hear the ocean waves crashing on the shore. Our first night there, the resort had a Christmas parade with food and drinks and after we met Amy and Sasha at the restaurant. They were wonderful and their friendly personalities made us stay on property and eat more than we normally would. David at the bar was fun and Priscilla and Tanzanica at the front desk were really helpful and friendly. Yubi at the store was amazing and Heinrich on the beach was on the ball. We enjoyed all the staff including Salt and Pepper who are a riot! One of the managers, Adil actually went out of his way to check and see how we were doing a few times while we were there. We highly recommend this resort and can’t wait to get back to see the crew!…
I gained 10 pounds there, what does that tell you! As owners for 18 years we have been here more times than I can count. Always a great room great view and great activities and of course great food. This coming year we will stay for 2 weeks. I will have to pace myself. We always go out with captain Al on the dock right there. Glad to hear that the airport will be back to normal soon.
This is a great find and I highly recommend staying here as either a couple or with a family. We were able to see the whole island from here. everything is convenient. Lots of stuff to do or just relax by the There were so many resort activities we couldn't believe it.
