Great resort. Excellent location on the quiet side of the island. Every room has an ocean view. Food at resort was very good. Italian restaurant across the street also very good. Supermarket and Liquor store walking distance was extremely convenient. To sum it up… The good: - location is quiet - clean rooms - great place for rest and relaxation. The not so good; - Don’t expect clear Caribbean beach water here. Huge Sargassum problem makes water appear brown in color and has an odor. Tons of Sargassum washes up on beach each day. Very unappealing to swim in the water. Unfortunately it is out of the resorts control. - Main shopping area and majority of restaurants are located on the opposite side of the Island which is about 50 min to 1 hour drive. Drove to other side of island to use the public beaches which were absolutely beautiful. If you don’t care about the beach and don’t want to swim in the ocean, then this place would be fine.…
My family and I booked this hotel through RCI for June 18th to 25th, because of flight cancellations we arrived on the 19th. The staff at this hotel were very nice and accommodating but management sucks. Upon arrival we were charged a utility fee of $212 for the week which was understandable with the current state of things. The room was below average , the first thing that greeted you as you open the door is a washer dryer combo (which we weren’t allowed to use) that created a cramped entry way, the bedroom was good size, a good size full kitchen and the living room dinning combo was ok. The bathroom was extremely cramp and I could sit on the toilet and touch both shower and sink. All furnishings were a bit outdated and the patio balcony could be accessed from the person staying in the room next door, there was no privacy. The beach was overrun with sea weed and there was no way of getting into the water because of piled up seaweed debris all along the beach. We complained to management and was told they were unable to do anything. To salvage our vacation we decided to check out and find a new hotel. Upon checking out on the 21st we were charged the whole utility fee when we were only there for 2 nights. I questioned the charge and was told that’s their policy. I further complained to the front desk who contacted management and was told a partial fee of $149 should be charged for 4 days when we were only there for 2 days. I contacted RCI about the incident and was told they would refund me for what was paid to RCI but fees charged by the resort would need to be handled by the resort itself. This left a bitter taste in my mouth since management at the hotel didn’t seem to care that they were cheating me out of my money. Stay away from this hotel.…
If you want peace and solitude, this is the place. Quiet, relaxing and far from everything. Concierge needs training in professionalism, but all other staff were excellent and responsive. Restaurant food was tasty and plentiful. Liquor store and grocery store right across the street. Andy/Fox Car Rental was across the street and that saved tons of money for transportation. Be sure to eat at Big Tree BBQ, as the food was authentic, plentiful and delicious.
Unit was comfortable and nicely decorated. On the first night we went to bar for a night cap and had two people each had one glass of wine and one quantro drink and the $150 bill kept us from returning to the bar. There is groceries and liquor store right across street. I liked the quiet area and found it to be one of the most relaxing and peaceful vacations. The view from balconies and beach area are great.
We love the Wyndham Reef Resort and just got back from our third stay this year. The staff is always friendly and the resort is a great place to relax and unwind. The food at the resort is fantastic and Doris always does a great job planning activities to enjoy on site. Tony at the bar is amazing and makes the best cocktails. I cannot recommend this resort enough!
Great quite location with excellent beach access, friendly staff, clean pool and grounds,,,clean, well equipped gym facility, fast checkin and checkout process, knowledgeable staff always willing to assist with any needs
Best beach vacation, beautiful setting, excellent service & very relaxing. We have been going to the Wyndahm Reef Resort for the past 16 years. Great family vacation spot. Lots of fun for the entire family.
This Resort is only miles away from Georgetown, Rum Point, And several Amazing beaches! Our goal while traveling was to see and do during the day and relax and Enjoy the resort in the evening. That’s exactly what we were able to do. Definitely rent a car for the independence and affordability to explore the Many beautiful Beaches in Cayman. But don’t mis the beauty and serenity at the Wyndham Beach, Pool, Bar and Patio areas. Each Room has a beautiful ocean view!
We had just a hotel unit with a mini kitchen, which was fine for us for the week. The kitchen area included a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, sink, toaster & coffee pot. There's a king-sized bed, a dresser and a closet with iron & ironing board, and a small safe. The shower had enough hot water, and there's a retractable clothes line in the tub for wet swim suits. Our patio had a table & a couple of chairs. The staff was friendly and helpful. There's a restaurant on-site, or you can sit at the bar and order. The pool was clean and had some lounge chairs - some with umbrellas & some under awnings. The area is far from the hustle & bustle of 7 mile beach, but it's nice to be in the quieter area - there's several good restaurants nearby and the grocery store is across the street. We rented a car and drove to Georgetown for snorkeling, the Bio bay and the Turtle Centre.…
The good: This resort is very quiet. Was not crowded at all (pool, beach, dining, etc). Friendly staff. Rooms are somewhat updated. great beds . You WILL need a car if you stay here. Most activities are on/near 7 mile so you will want a car to go places. If you DO want to be away from the crowds, this is a good spot. The restaurant on site is AMAZING and we highly recommend eating there. The not-so-good: The bathroom in unit is VERY small....one sink and little counter space. The bigger issue, and one they can't control, is all the seaweed. It is very difficult to use the ocean (swim or snorkel) because you walk through so much seaweed. They are out every morning shoveling and moving it from the beach, which is great. Again, I know that many areas are seeing an increase in seaweed, but you just need to be aware if you are expecting to be swimming and snorkeling.…
