I am very satisfied with this experience at this resort. The property was very attractive and clean. Staff was friendly. They can improve on food and pay more attention to order placed . The pools were very clean and always and you can always get a private pool or swim in the side by the music. Very quiet with no kids
My husband and I stayed at the adult only TRS Cap Cana resort from December 13-17, 2021. We also did a 4 day trip here in November. We combined both our trips with a stay at their sister resort in Punta Cana, TRS Turquesa/Grand Palladium Punta Cana. First I'll give you some information about the area of Cap Cana. Cap Cana is located on the most eastern part of the Dominican Republic and is 10 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. The whole Cap Cana area is essentially a gated community because in order to gain access to Cap Cana, you must pass through security. Notable features of this destination include the Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, Punta Espada, ecotourism adventures, international fishing tournaments, luxury yachting charters, polo fields and a natural theme park called Scape Park. Upscale resorts are also in Cap Cana and this includes the adults only TRS Cap Cana. As well, once you arrive at TRS Cap Cana, they have their own security at the entrance as they do at all TRS resorts. Our first experience with TRS Cap Cana was back in October 2019 when we were staying at it's sister resort, TRS Turquesa in Punta Cana. If you are staying at TRS Turquesa you may come to visit TRS Cap Cana and vice versa as long as you pay for your own transportation. The exception to this is if you are staying at TRS Cap Cana and you book to see the Chic Cabaret dinner show at TRS Turquesa, then transportation is provided by the resort. More about Chic Cabaret will follow. Back in 2019 we booked return trip transportation between the two resorts with Dominican Plus who provides private transfers and excursions. It was cheaper to book the transfer with Dominican Plus rather than using a taxi. It's about a 25 minute drive between the two resorts. TRS Cap Cana is a boutique type resort with 115 luxury suites. Most of these suites are ocean view. It's a perfect resort if you're looking for some rest and relaxation. Because of the size of the resort, the attentive staff are able to provide amazing personalized service. A Butler is assigned to you and the Butler will touch base with you through WhatsApp. The Butler will look after your dinner reservations, if you need anything for your room or if you have any issues. We were in a junior suite swim up room in Building 4. We were able to see the sunrise right from our swim up patio and we had sun until 5 pm each day. The room was well appointed with a king sized bed, couch and table with two chairs. As soon as you walk into the room there is a large walkin closet. Inside the closet there were lots of hangers, two bathrobes with slippers, a set of drawers for clothes storage and a safe. The closet had a door as well so you could even store your empty suitcases in there making your room look nice and tidy. There is a little area in the room where there is a Nespresso machine, a coffee maker, ice bucket, coffee mugs and a fridge which had juice, Sprite, Coke, Orange Fanta, Presidente beer, peanuts, chips and a chocolate bar. This gets refilled each day. Housekeeping kept our room very clean every day. When you're out in your swim up pool, you can get drink service as well. Servers/Bartenders walk around to check on you. If you don't see someone then just take a quick walk to the Gaia Pool Bar and let them know. It's so easy to stay away from people at the resort if you wish by having a swim up room. The washroom area in our room had large walk in shower, double sinks and there was a separate toilet area. There are also swim up rooms in Building 1 and these are the most private away from the main pool area. Buildings 2 and 3 have swim up rooms and they have all day sun. If you like to do a few activities, the POP (People of Palladium) team of Charley and John can keep you busy. There is a list of daily activities posted near the main pool. Some of the activities offered were Spanish classes, aqua fit, yoga, pilates, pool volleyball, bachata and salsa lessons. But if you choose, you can even just lounge by the main pool and listen to the great music around the pool. There is a nice swim up bar at the main pool as well. There is another large pool not too far away that is a little quieter. I should mention as well that the bartenders do come around the pool areas to see if you need drinks. Even when we were at our swim up room pool, they always came around to see if we needed any beverages. There is a small beach area at the resort where there are loungers and bali beds. However if you'd like to visit a large beach and have a nice long walk, the resort provides a shuttle over to Juanillo beach which is 5 minutes away. The shuttles leave the resort at 10 am, 11 am and 1 pm and the shuttles returning to the resort are at 3 pm and 4 pm. If you decide you want to stay longer at Juanillo Beach, then you can also take a taxi back to the resort for $3 US and there are taxis always at the parking lot area here. The resort provides you with towels on the shuttle and we just brought some water and a couple of beers in a soft sided cooler bag that we had packed in our suitcase. There is a small area of orange lounge chairs at the beach for use by TRS guests. Food and drinks are not provided by the resort at Juanillo Beach but you can purchase a $15 voucher at the resort so you can have lunch at a certain cafe there. There are also public washrooms in the area which were very clean. All the food we had at the resort was delicious. Make sure you download the Palladium Hotel Group app before your vacation because you will need it to access the restaurant menus. Breakfast is served at Capricho Restaurant. There is a small buffet with some hot food, pastries, bread, cold meat and cheese. There are disposable gloves at the beginning of the buffet so you put on the glove and serve yourself at the buffet. You can also order off the menu - omelettes, pancakes and things like that. We ordered off the menu for each breakfast. On some days for lunch, the pool grill was open so you could just have your lunch around the pool. The grill had hamburgers, sausage, chicken skewers and chicken wings. If you want to go for more of a lunch, Helios is open for lunch each day. There was a lot of great food options there for lunch. We enjoyed the hamburgers and philly cheese sandwiches there. There are four dinner restaurants at the resort: El Gaucho, Izakaya, Helios and Tentazione. As well one evening, we enjoyed a Dominican menu which is served on certain nights at Helios restaurant. Some nights two restaurants were open and other nights there was one restaurant open but we never felt that we didn't have enough choices of food as the menus are quite extensive. El Gaucho is a steakhouse, Izakaya is Japanese, Helios is Mediterranean and Tentazione is Italian. Make sure you try the pizza at Tentazione as it's prepared in a clay oven. We enjoyed all our meals at these restaurants. Don't forget to visit Piacere Coffee Shop which is located off the lobby. I believe it's open during the day until 6 pm and they have a great variety of hot and cold cappuccinos, frappuccinos, lattes, etc. There is a small spa there at the resort where you can use some indoor water tubs and outside there is a private pool area. It's great for relaxing and you can also book massages and other spa services there including hair services. As well there is a small gym on site. When we were at the resort, sunset was just before 6 pm and around 5 pm we would go for a nice walk along the boardwalk. You can access it behind Helios restaurant. You could walk for about a mile or so if you wanted. At that time we would sometimes see the charter fishing boats coming in with their catches. We were also to see the sunset from this area each evening. The Christmas lights and decorations around the resort were very nice. Lots of white lights wrapped around the palm trees. It was very festive. In the evening either the Sports Bar or Aurum Lobby Bar was open. Make sure you see the mixologist bartender who sometimes had a table set up in the lobby area. He made amazing drinks! Many of us would sit out in the outdoor area just outside the lobby bar and some nights there was a DJ set up and on other nights there was karaoke happening. Above I mentioned Chic Cabaret, which is a three hour entertainment and dinner show, is put on by very talented singers, dancers and performers. The show is at TRS Turquesa in Punta Cana and if you reserve a ticket for the show, you pay a $35 reservation fee. Transportation is provided if you are going to the show. We have been to Chic Cabaret at other TRS resorts in Riviera Maya and Costa Mujeres. When we went to see Chic over at TRS Turquesa, I felt that this was the best of all the Chic shows we have seen. I highly recommend that you go to see the show as it is worth every penny. On our last breakfast there at Capricho, we were surprised with our table all decorated with flower petals and balloons hanging from our light above us. Mimosas were waiting on the table. We were greeted by all our favourite servers and then we were brought a beautiful looking fruit plate with all the fruit cut up in very nice designs. It was lovely. We then ordered our breakfast from the menu. It was a very nice treat and the couple next to us asked us if it was our anniversary. We joked and said I think they are celebrating because we leave today and then we won't be bugging them anymore LOL! Maybe it’s not part of your culture, but we are from Canada so tipping is part of our lifestyle. We allocate a certain amount of money for tipping while we are on vacation. If you are comfortable with this, please do tip for good service when you are there – housekeepers, bartenders and food servers. These people really do work very hard and very long hours. One other thing I would like to mention is where guests are supposed to wear masks/face coverings. Please remember the pandemic is not over but is picking up again with the new variant. Basically guests are to wear masks in all public areas. Put your mask on when walking into the lobby area, until you sit down and are ready to have your drink. Guests are to wear their masks when walking into the restaurants and once seated the mask can be removed. Guests are to wear a mask when going up to a bar for a drink. Obviously around the pool area and in the pool they are not required but if getting a drink at the swim up bar, please keep your distance from the bartender. Staff always wear their masks wherever they are working whether it be inside or outside in the heat. Please show them the same respect and wear your mask when approaching them in the lobby area or even just going up to the bar to order a drink. I was dismayed to see some people not following these simple rules. In conclusion, we had a fantastic stay at TRS Cap Cana and many staff members made it memorable for us: restaurant servers Manuel, Gregory, Adonis, Domingo, Adam and Jairo were fantastic along with POP team members John and Charley. Sabrina was the wonderful hostess at the restaurants. We also really liked Felix who bartended at the Aurum Lobby Bar. He remembered us from November and made us some great minibeer and chocolate cake shooters. I also need to mention our housekeeper Yanelis. She was excellent and kept our room spic and span. We walked past her in the hallway the day after we arrived, said Hola to her and went into our room. Within about 20 seconds she knocked at our door and we got lots of hugs as she realized who we were and that we had been there in November. A special thank you as well to Luis and Napoleon who were wonderful to us during our stay as well. TRS Cap Cana truly has a great team of staff members. We will be coming back to visit TRS Cap Cana again some time this year. If anyone has any questions they'd like to ask about the resort, feel free to send me a direct message through my profile here on Trip Advisor.…
Excellent service, my personal butler Irwin Walker went above and beyond his duties. He was always attentive and checked in with us all day and if he was not on property all i needed was to make a phone call to him. Best service of any resort in the Caribbean. Five stars for sure and recommend it 100%.
From arrival to departure the staff went out of there way to accommodate any requests we had. Our room was cleaned twice a day, the breakfast buffet was excellent with cold meats, fruits and juices,, cooked traditional foods, breads, cereals, wide range of teas and coffees and topped off with a choice of mimosa and bloody marys. Lunch was excellent as was the options for dinner each evening. The hotel itself is beautiful, the swim up rooms with an ocean view are a super option. Our butler, Maximo was so helpful, knowledgeable and could not have been better in anyway, thanks Max, u are a credit to the hotel and we absolutely appreciate all your help!
This was my first time to Dominican Republic. I originally was booked at another hotel and switched to this beautiful hotel last minute. I'm getting married March 2024 and wanted to experience the resort before my guest did to insure that everyone would have a great time. Upon arrival to the resort I was greeted by Willyn who was very pleasant and resourceful. Willyn showed me to my room, provided me with his whatsapp, got me situated with what the resort offered, and the told me to contact him if I ever needed anything. His mistake, because I literally sent him a request every few hours. He always made sure every request I made was delivered upon. We stayed in the jacuzzi terrace with a view of the Marina and Caribbean. Absolutely breathtaking. The food was good but often needed salt and pepper. The drinks were amazing. Thank you Robert!! The staff were very attentive. There was not one obstacle that wasn't destroyed by staff. Thank you Ashley!!! The resort was quiet and relaxing. The guess were all pleasant. The spa treatment was great. The lady at the front desk was not very helpful in helping guess save a few dollars(248 usd). They offered us a 2 for 1 special after we paid and declined to refund us for one of the treatments because we booked the day before and the special was only on the day of treatment. I'm still confused on that one too. Getting our service today, the day you have the discount, but cant get the discount becauae we booked the day before. The salon for makeup Willyn found me was close and did an amazing job. I wish there was more shade available near the pool but staff were always willing to move an umbrella if asked. Taxi service is available and friendly. I paid 6 dollars round trip to Juanillo for a 20 min drive but paid 10 dollars round trip for .5 mile trip to the salon. I'm still trying to figure that one out... They don't have an ATM machine for guest and the closet one I found was about 10 mins away outside of Cap Cana. Ultimately, my vacation was amazing and I hope to have the same staff there for my wedding next year. …
This was my first time at the TRS Cap Cana resort and definitely not my last. Willyn our butler made sure our stay was amazing!!!! We will definitely competing back for another vacation very soon. Make sure you ask for Willyn upon your arrival!!!!
It was my first stay here and trip to DR. I had a great stay. Everyone was really helpful and great. I enjoyed the pool and bar. The food selection was wonderful, and I had a fantastic spa day as well. The service at the spa was great. I received good service from the bar staff and wait staff throughout by staff. Willyn, my butler, was really helpful. I actually came by myself, and was able to have a relaxing and fun trip.
The hotel is very nice, with great rooms! The rooms are really comfortable and clean. The employees are all very kind, from the restaurants to the spa and pool. I would definitely recommend the experience! The food and drinks are also great, with a good variety and quality. The hotel is more like a small and more private all inclusive, so you will not find kids running or thousands of different restaurants and places. When you arrive, they set you with a person that will take care of all your needs and concerns. It is really amazing how the staff is caring and nice! There is a small beach area, so the pool is the place where you will going to spend most of the time. Definitely, if the beach is really relevant to you, this is not the best option.

On the app you can also see the daily activities as well as premium experiences you can purchase such as the floating breakfast if you have a swim up room. Breakfast is served at Capricho Restaurant. There is a small buffet with some hot food, pastries, bread, fresh fruit, cold meat and cheese. You can also order off the menu - omelettes, pancakes and things like that. We chose to order off the menu for breakfast. The pool grill was open daily for lunch. It's great to have lunch around the pool. The grill had hamburgers, sausage, chicken skewers and chicken wings. El Gaucho is a steakhouse, Helios is Mediterranean, Tentazione is Italian and Tex Mex is self explanatory. Make sure you try the pizza at Tentazione as it's prepared in a clay oven. You can also get Caribbean lobster at Helios. One night at Helios we had the surf and turf which was the delicious lobster and a wonderful filet mignon. We enjoyed all our meals at these restaurants. 24 hour room service is also available so if you don't feel like going for breakfast, lunch or dinner, this is a great option. The Piacere Coffee Shop is located off the lobby. It's open during the day until 6 pm and they have a great variety of hot and cold cappuccinos, frappuccinos, lattes, etc. There is also delicious pastries in here. If you get a chance try the little round chocolate ball, I believe it's a rum ball and it's so delicious. There is a small spa there at the resort where you can use some indoor water tubs and outside there is a private pool area. It's great for relaxing and you can also book massages and other spa services there including hair services. There is a small gym on the resort as well. Many of us would sit out in the outdoor area just outside the lobby bar after dinner. On the lower level they would have a different show or performer each evening. There was a Michael Jackson show one night and on another night there was a magic show. You could sit upstairs at the lobby area and be able to watch the show below. There were also chairs set up downstairs at the show. After the show there would be a DJ set up upstairs, karaoke or a singer. I wanted to mention that if you are staying at TRS Cap Cana you can go over to TRS Turquesa for the day with no charge. The same is true for those staying at TRS Turquesa. They can come to visit TRS Cap Cana. However you do need to arrange for your own transportation if you choose to do this. The exception to this is if you are staying at TRS Cap Cana and you book the Chic Cabaret dinner show at TRS Turquesa, then transportation is provided by the resort. If you choose to go over to Turquesa for the day, check pricing first with a private transfer service such as Dominican Plus. We we did this and it was cheaper than taking a taxi. It's roughly a 25 minute drive between the two resorts. Now more about Chic Cabaret which is over at TRS Turquesa. Very talented singers, dancers and performers put on a fantastic show while you're being served dinner. It's about 3 hours long but is so entertaining. There is a cost to this which is $45. Transportation is provided by the resort if you are going to the show. We have been to Chic Cabaret at other TRS resorts in Riviera Maya and Costa Mujeres but I felt that this was the best of the Chic shows we have seen and is well worth the money. Maybe it’s not part of your culture, but we are from Canada so tipping is part of our lifestyle. We allocate a certain amount of money for tipping while we are on vacation. If you are comfortable with this, please do tip for good service when you are there – housekeepers, bartenders and food servers. Staff really do work very hard and very long hours. We had a fantastic stay at TRS Cap Cana and many staff members made it a great vacation for us: restaurant servers Manuel, Gregory, Domingo and Jose Luis were fantastic. Natalie was a wonderful hostess at Capricho. Luis, the bartender at the Capricho/Tentazione bar area, made the best pina coladas and he was friendly as well. Felix, the bartender at the Aurum Lobby Bar and sometimes at the Sports Bar, made us excellent drinks. He made us some great chocolate cake shooters and minibeers. Cindy, the butler supervisor was great too. She showed us to our room when we arrived. Maximo was our butler and he provided fantastic service for our time there. I do need to speak about Charly, who is in charge of the activity and entertainment team at the resort. Even though his main job is to look after activities and entertainment, he would do anything at all needed to keep the guests happy. I watched him one day and he was serving drinks to people around the pool. He would go to the bar and come back with their drinks. One other time there was a lady around the pool area and she was going to move one of the big, awkward umbrellas. As soon as Charly saw this, he came running over and moved the umbrella for her. He is a such a hard worker and is a definite asset to this resort. More resorts could use a Charly on their team. A special thank you to Ivan, Dionisio and Leonardo who were wonderful to us during our stay as well. TRS Cap Cana truly has a great team of staff members. We will definitely come back for another relaxing trip to TRS Cap Cana. If anyone has any questions they'd like to ask about the resort, feel free to send me a direct message here on Trip Advisor.…
Upgraded ocean view room was through the tree line across pools and courtyard. Not worth the upgrade. Food was so, so most of the time. There were a couple of dinners that were very good. Arrival was a mess. Once we ironed out the bumps things were much better.. Eloy was fantastic!!
