Nestled near Mumbai, The Forest Club Resort is often celebrated for its serene ambiance and natural setting, with many guests praising the friendly and attentive service that enhances their stay. While the resort's services and food may be considered pricey by some travelers, the tranquility and beauty of the location are frequently highlighted as compensating factors. The resort boasts an infinity pool that garners compliments for its scenic views, although issues with privacy and mosquitoes are noted. Room cleanliness and maintenance receive mixed feedback, but the majority of guests appreciate the overall cleanliness and the calming atmosphere of the resort.

The Forest Club is a beautiful property, well maintained, with a lovely garden area and views to the valley. It is well worth paying extra to stay on the poolside. That was the clincher for me. The corner room is more secluded because kids can get noisy in the pool. Nights are generally quiet. A train runs past the property whose melody is almost soothing. Food and drinks are well priced and done well.

The negative according to me was, while this is a premium property and charges quite a bit, it misses the subtle touches of a hotel chain like Taj: toiletries for one, in-room beverage sachets for one serving, no backup toilet rolls, a strict checkout time. Nevertheless, for the adjoined pool, it is worth it.

Hello Smit, Thanks for sharing your feedback. We are glad you liked the views & food at our resort. The Executive pool rooms are our highest category rooms that has access to the huge meandering pool, additionally, these rooms are larger in size too, hence it is priced accordingly. For your points of discontent regarding the in room toileteries, we shall put this up to the management & try to improvise on this at the earliest. Do give us another chance to host you & we assure you would have the best stay at our resort. Regards, Team The Forest Club Resort, Karjat.

Because of Lockdown, we were really not looking to travel far and came across this beautiful location of the Forest Resort while trying to search for locations nearby Mumbai for our wedding anniversary celebration.
The entire property is breathtakingly beautiful and it's unbelievable to witness a property so close to Mumbai!
The property has the following things in place:
1. Deluxe rooms
2. Premium rooms
3. Executive rooms
The 1st & 2nd category has a common infinity pool that overlooks the beautiful mountains whereas the Executive rooms have private pool right outside it's balcony.
4. In house Spa
5. Restaurant and Bar
6. Full fledged Gym
7. Banquet hall

We actually wanted to book Executive Rooms but due to it's unavailability, we booked Deluxe rooms for 2 nights but thankfully during check-in there was a last minute cancellation and we got ourselves upgraded to the Executive Room. Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena who is the Executive Housekeeping Manager is the best person you will meet at the resort and he was the one who got us the upgraded room. His people handling skills and his out of the way helping people attitude is something you'll admire about him. We would want to Thank him for taking care of us for the 2 days we spent there.
Abhishek- one of the servers at the restaurant was with us through the anniversary candle light dinner and served us everything we asked for and was available at all times. Thank you to him as well
Pallavi and Sarthak at the in house Spa did wonderful at their jobs and couldn't have asked for a better ME time than their services. Thank you for the two of them as well.
Lastly, another server at the restaurant- Naveen was extremely helpful and cordial while serving us and helped us in getting the right order as per our taste and eating capacity! Thank you to him as well.

The entire team had arranged for a beautiful candle light dinner with cake and wine and made sure that our anniversary was worth remembering!

The place has a dance floor on the 1st floor and has bar and sheesha services as well. They also do take in wedding celebrations.

Overall, we had the most exclusive time celebrating our perfect day at a beautiful place like this.

Heavily recommend to friends, family, couple!

Stayed for 02 days at Forest Farm, took a premium room. Room was clean, spacious, towel/ bedsheets, comforter - all were clean. Toiletries were there in place. Refrigerator was not working and thus smelling badly.

Food was delicious and has wide variety of dishes (veg+non veg). Ala carte service was also super fast. Restaurant staff was courteous and alert to help customers for second filling if required.

Bar is very well located (on top of wood restaurant), however it lacks the energy. Music starts at 7:30pm which is too late, should be 6:45 pm. Few whiskies were not available eg. 100 piper (12yrs)
Suggestion - Need to run some offer on 1st 02 hrs to bring the audience on floor. May be one on one without increasing per peg price. Price could be an issue for many.

Best part was pool (next to the wood restaurant), well cleaned, attentive lifeguard who was super quick to provide kid lifebuoy/ towel.

House keeping service staff was superb, specially manager Manoj Meena. He understand the requirement very well and believes in proper execution. Very polite and energetic.

Kudos to the entire team. Well done.

Sunil

The resort is on a hillock so once you reach the base you will have to climb a steep slope to get to the lobby of the resort.
There are many rooms (Website says 49) at the resort. Rooms under all 3 classes are very good, with the only difference being size of rooms. I stayed in Deluxe which is the smallest but it has good space for a couple with a small child.
If you have 3 adults you need to atleast go for Premium rooms as they will have enough space.
Each room has a small lawn in front of the glass door with curtains. Apart from a bed and cupboard there is a coffee table and 2 chairs as standard in each room. The other facilities are as listed on their website.
The food is usually served as a buffet for breakfast and lunch but a la carte is also available. The variety on offer is good with consistently good taste for all the variety from south Indian to chinese to continental.
But the real highlight of the resort is the staff, who is always looking to help the guest with the best offerings.
Also for these always connected times, good mobile network is only available near infinity swimming pool

The resort is on a small hill top overlooking the valley and the Matheran hills. The best view is from near the restaurant and the infinity swimming pool.
Though they have three varieties of rooms, the best being executive type with a long pool right outside. The other types are Premier and delux rooms, the premier ones slightly larger than deluxe. However, these rooms are either in the front with garden,or backside with absolutely no views or gardens. We had booked premier room too but were upset at being allotted a backside room which was not acceptable as you don’t get a feeling of being on a green hill with views. After we declined to shift there, they offered us a ‘ downgrade’ to a deluxe room on front garden side.
Our first experience here thus was not good.
The restaurant offers buffet lunch and dinner with mostly veg dishes except for one or two non veg options. The food in buffet was fairly good variety and taste.

They have free WiFi but it’s not even 1 mbps

On the downside was the reception which was more like a fish market with people checking out as there are only two at desk.
Would recommend this place if one gets a good room either with pool at door or facing the garden, else no purpose of an outing holiday here.

Have been hearing abt this place long time on social media so decided to visit. I loved my stay, and special mention for Mr Villas at the resort, really polite and providing assistance for all things required.

Just the pool needs to be a more cleaner but anyways due to safety pool was not allowed

I recommend to book few days before because they are majorly sold out end moments.

There are so many things which were wrong about this resort.
1. Firstly i requested resort for a date change as i wasnt well to travel but they bluntly said no even at these difficult times when govt themselves suggests to stay home if we are not well.
2 I booked it through Agoda.com and i suggest not to book it thru this website at all as they didnt help me with the date change in the hotel. They themselves were not able to speak to hotel manager. Not going to use this website for any future bookings.
2. There are no phones in the resort where customers can reach them and this number 7711822777 was the only POC for me which was with a guy who didnt bothered to pick up the calls 90 % of the time and i had such a hard time contacing property
3 I had to go to the resort at my dates since they completely denied for a date change and it was the most pathetic day of my life. The resort was at a very poor locatio ,rooms were dirty,it was tiny hotel not a resort, zero cleanliness and totally not worth 7500rs for a tiniest room.
4 To my shock they weren’t following any covid protocools,no temperature checks, staff not wearing masks most of the time, people in the resort not wearing masks,no social distancing followed at all and biggest shock was they had opened swimming pool in the resort for all which is against the Maharashtra rules.
5 Due to the resort environment and covid protocols not being followed, i was worried and checked out of the hotel within a day even i had booked the stay for 2 days and i wasted money for 1 day.
6 Last thing is the resort is really not worth the money they are charging, very small place, over crowded even at covid times, location is bad. So my suggestion to people is always book a hotel with a brand name and avoid these local resort who will not take any responsibility aftet you have paid for room.
I suggest booking Radisson karjat, its a great property.

We had booked the resort for 2 nights and 3 days. As soon as we entered the room, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. When opened curtains to view the pool, a packet of peppy was floating over the pool and the pool also was not clean. We were given the last corner room which had no proper view nor the wifi could reach till there (room was changed the next day when we requested). As per the hotel rules, smoking was allowed everywhere in the premises except in the rooms and in the pool. But, there was a group of 4 people the room next our last corner room who were continuously smoking inside pool and the language they were used to talk to each other was vulgar as there were children in the pool in front of whom they were smoking.

Food quality was good, staff was also co-operative. Rooms and toilets were unclean, bedsheets and blankets were nasty, the rooms had some pathetic paintings and on the day of checkout we found some pieces of sandwiches and fries thrown on front of our room's garden facing door.

Food was also overpriced, there were flies in the room as well in the dining area and the flies were sitting on our plates. We have stayed at much better resorts at cheaper/same prices with better services. Overall it was not a good stay. Rated 2 only for the food and co-operative staff.

Suggested by a friend, we booked a stay for 3 nights and 4 days only to discover the horrible experience we’ve had. The rooms allotted didn’t seemed like they were sanitized (thank god we carried our sanitizers). The kettle in the room was broken and toilet tissue roll not replaced. Due to some wedding in the resort, our dinner was served almost 2 hours late and after multiple follow-ups. House keeping didn’t clean the rooms properly with tissues on the table and toiletries not replaced neither were towels.

We had to follow up multiple times for our daily Water bottles which came after two hours. Since two hours we were literally thirsty.

The reason to all the delays was the wedding in the hotel where the entire hotel staff was occupied.

Lastly on the day of check out, we were just asked to leave soon. Despite of all this, the managers were hardly interested in adhering to our concerns when raised during our stay.

We were told that the GM will come and meet us during our stay, which never happened.

Food, no doubt was nice, but stay was really bad.

PS: No staff in the resort seems to wear any mask.

Positives- Spectacular View of the hills, Infinity Pool, Spacious property, Good food quality with bar open and option of hookah ,Gaming room with numerous options, Spa was quite good.

Scope of improvement- Deluxe Rooms where I checked in were quite small in size.

Maintenance must be improved. I found cobwebs in the room, inadequate space of almirahs with not a single drawer in the room, No safe, no area for keeping luggage,

Cups placed in the room should be of better quality, Shower panel was not well maintained as it was broken

Quality of linen must improve

WiFi connectivity was extremely poor..Guys, please do something about this. I know its not a business property but it is a bare minimum thing that a traveller/guest looks for.
