We have done the early morning gibbon trek. Twice. On the first morning we didn't see gibbons, but it was still pretty nice listening to the jungle awake. The park lets you do the trek again for free if you don't see any gibbons. So we went the next day and saw a whole family of them! It was very...

The bungalow was very basic but OK for a one night stay before the Wild Gibbon Trek. You must stay inside the park as the ferry boat across the river is not operating at the 5am Trek start. The Yellow Bamboo Restaurant opposite was dreadful - staff were rude, uninterested and disliked their TV viewing and card playing being interrupted....

If you want to do the wild gibbon trek (start around 5 am and really worth doing for about 60 dollars) you have to stay in the park since the ferry doesn't go that early in the morning. In the park you have two option and this one is the cheapest. For a lone travel the accommodation is really expensive...

The rooms are very nice and basic accommodations, and quite charming. They have comfortable beds, air conditioning, hot water showers, tables chairs, and western flush toilets. Rooms are cleaned daily and new towels, bedding, soap, shampoo, are replaced. I stayed here in 2013, again in 2015, and if I were visiting Cat Tien again, I would stay here again. I...

Having read the reviews I was expecting the accommodation to be fairly awful and was pleasantly surprised. It definitely isn't pretty - most of the chrome in our bathroom was going rusty, but it is perfectly functional. However, it has one major advantage and that is a female gibbon with a young baby that has been released above the sun...

If you are used to down duvets and sprung mattresses, this is NOT a place for you. Accessed by a ferry, the accommodation could only be described as "quaint and basic, but adequate". Power was intermittent but there were some serious up sides. The food is all truly "local" - if it isn't farmed or caught nearby they won't have...

We stayed in the log cabin bungalows (Lagerstroemia 1) and while very basic the room had comfortable beds, working fans and adequate mosquito nets, enough space to unpack rucksacks and a bathroom that worked. Basically everything you need, the real draw here is the location and these bungalows/cabins are nicely placed at the edge of the accomodation so give a...

They have a few options of room type and after looking around a couple, settled for the most expensive one (1 Million Dong) as it was the only one which had wifi. Clean room and mosquito net over the bed which was handy, these rooms have a double and a single bed. The bathroom actually had a bath which was...

Let me preface this review by stating that the national park itself is fantastic and the wild gibbon trek a truly magical experience. I would also say that although the accommodation is a little basic for the price it was as expected and the guesthouse/national park staff were very helpful. The reason for the negative review is the "restaurants" and...

Despite the bad reviews we stayed here, because we wanted to do the Gibbon Trek. We found out that it is not necesarry to stay in the park to do this trek and that there are better options nearby. The rooms in the park are poorly maintained and terrible value for money with a rate of 580.00 Dong per night...
