It's rare that you feel so completely disconnected and at peace as quickly and easily as at Las Animas. After a beautiful flight in a 6 seater you arrive at sleepy Bahia de Los Angeles and get whisked away in a little boat for an hour until you arrive at your private yurt on the beach - heaven! Greeted by... More

What an amazing, magical, even spiritual experience! We went to swim with the whale sharks in Las Animas Bay. We rolled out of our comfy beds eat morning to fresh fruits and coffee, walked across the beach to our boat and drove out into our bay to swim with the biggest fish in the sea! It was so humbling to... More

Outstanding trip! We first read a travel article about Las Animas in the San Diego UT around 2 years ago. The write ups and reviews talked about a great travel adventure, gorgeous scenery, comfortable accommodations, great food, swimming with whale sharks and excellent fishing. After about 36 hours there we realized that everything promised had been delivered! We met Gray,... More

As I walked out of my yurt every morning at 5:45, I saw the sign just rising above the rocks that "bled" into the sea. Beautiful just doesn't describe it. As I walked to the common area to get my coffee (which I did every morning of my stay before heading out to do some fishing), barefoot and still in... More

Dear MCaddy; Your great description of the sun rising over the islands to the East and the dance of color and light on the white sand beach of Las Animas brought back fond memories for me. So many others have shared that same magical sunrise barefoot on the white sand bay. Having the coffee ready to so early is always... More

We have now made two trips to this very special place - one in March 2015 to see gray whales and their calves, and the second in September 2016 to watch whale sharks. Both trips were absolutely amazing. The beach yurts are comfy, the food is wonderful, and the wildlife fabulous. This year's trip suffered slightly in that our pilot/guide,... More

We came home today, after 6 days, and if I could go back tomorrow I would! I cannot express all the reasons I loved this trip so I'll stick with just a few. 1. Safety - traveling to a remote part of Mexico is not for everyone. However, from the moment we had our safety briefing in the airport, I... More

WOW! Thanks so much for your detailed and enthusiastic comments. Although I personally don't get to go down to Las Animas Ecolodge a lot, reading your great review made me ready too, to get down there again soon. :-) Got any photos, videos or story to share? We would love to see them as would future travelers considering our special... More

I just returned, as in yesterday, from a week with Baja AirVentures and I don't know where to start...guess I'll begin at the beginning: Excellent from the word go! Our first day out did not disappoint, even with the impending arrival of Hurricane Newton! We tracked the storm (the team was VERY in tune, Kevin was on the phone with... More

We started out on the Pacific side of Baja in the El Vizcaino Reserve. Our group was just five, and we had the most wonderful experience getting literally nose-to-nose with grey whales. Moms and babies came right up to our boat and let us pet them. They seemed to particularly enjoy getting their chins rubbed. Everything was by boat and... More

Just completed my 7th trip to Las Animas Wilderness Lodge with Baja AirVentures, August 29- Sept. 3, 2016. We got to snorkel with a bunch of whale sharks. YouTube: OAHUSQUID to see the video. Gray, our pilot/guide is terrific, as is Liz the cook, and Fidel, our boat captain. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it. I've made... More
