This was our kids' favourite place in Tasmania! The cottages are simple and dated but comfortable. There is play equipment just at the door and lovely area to run or read a book and watch for platypuses. Lots of animals and kids can participate in daily feeding and egg collecting. What made the stay for us was the hosts -...

The animal residents make it a fun place to visit. The cottages are very spacious and well setup. A fly screen door would be great to let the cool breeze in. Lots to do outdoors in surrounding MT Field and Styx Valley. We would stay again in this haven.

What a great place. Lindy and Greg are great hosts and very helpful. The cottages are old, but very functional. Maydena is well located to fish Lake Pedder and many great trout streams. The place would benefit from the construction of a semi enclosed BBQ area, where guests could meet and relax.

We stayed in a one bedroom spa cottage whilst travelling around Tasmania. Cottage was spacious, clean, tidy and homely. The jacuzzi bath was amazing after a long hike in the nearby beautiful Mount Field National Park. Bed was extremely comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, tranquil and relaxing. We seen platypus in the ponds and many farm animals and chooks. We...

Arrived late afternoon and although the the accomodation was a little run down the friendliness and homeliness at Giants Table outweighed all this and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Restaurant was closed being out of tourist season but the lady running the place quickly and kindly offered to make us a meal and bring it over to our...

We stayed one night after visiting Gordon Dam. Host talked a lot and didn't really listen to our needs, we were not made to feel like guests. We were told we were to stay in one cabin but taken to another. It was very cold -understandable in winter but heating needs to be adequate. There was one small heater for...

Lovely place to relax and enjoy the nature. I was here with my husband in May, so it was not many visitors around, because of that we received honey-moon cottage with spa for the price of the regular, was quite pleasant:) Service was great, we even managed to have a dinner in nearest pub, as our host gave a call...

Stayed a night but found the sticklepath cottage far too cold even though it is only Autumn season (mid Apr). The portable heater is too weak, can only feel it when I am 10cm away. Luckily, the bed has warmer pad so at least I can snug in bed & try not to walk around. There is no restaurant around,...

My Mum, sister and I recently stayed one night in Chudleigh cottage and we were all glad that it was only for one night. The cottages at Giants Table used to be staff accommodation for employees of the Australian Newsprint Mill when it was still operating nearby - I am not sure when the mill closed, but the cottages look...
