Had a lovely lunch here today, great service and great food. We commented on the great flavour of the balsamic oil and the olives..and were told they add their own flavours...a little thing, but it obviously makes a difference. My friend, who is vegetarian, had a reasonable choice and thought the Leek and Portobella pastry was excellent. My lasagne was...

Best Sunday lunch we have had since moving to this area 2 years ago. We have sampled many and this was really good and excellent value for money. Excellent service, friendly staff, we will definitely be back.

Only stayed one night so unable to enjoy more than a whistle-stop visit. However, there was a very warm welcome from all staff who were genuinely giving their best attention to us and other customers. Our room was pleasant with patio doors straight onto a grassy area immediately in front of a lovely field of Cows. A great way to...

The Peacock Country Inn is a charming country pub on the outskirts of the village of Henton, and on the fringes of the Chilten Hills. Our ground-floor room had French doors opening onto a grassy strip with a view across fields to the hills, about a mile away. Lovely to wake up to. The room was on the small side,...

Stayed here for 1 night 17th August with our 2 dogs. We were upgraded to a large room to give us more room for the dogs. We had a four poster super king bed which was with the most fantastic mattress. So comfortable & the best nights sleep for a very long time. Lovely luxury very deep corner bath which...

Many a wedding reception happens at The Peacock so there is usually a romantic atmosphere going around. Although Martin was not around to welcome us and make us feel special, the staff were attentive but not intrusive on our special night. A lovely place to go and feel relaxed in a more than comfortable atmosphere.

We went to the peacock on a hot day after a long walk, and it was just what the doctor ordered! Starting with a nice welcome, we had a drink at the bar then went to a table to eat. I had fish and chips, and it was divine! Not only did it come very quickly, but the batter was...

Lovely little place in a beautiful setting. Warm welcome on arrival. We had a large room with four poster bed, seating area and large corner bath on the ground floor. Some of the décor was abit tired looking but the room was very spacious and accommodating. The bed was comfy with an extremely soft mattress which may not be everyone's...

I've given this hotel five stars although in all honesty it's not a luxury hotel. What it is is a very friendly comfortable country hotel in lovely surroundings with excellent food. I stayed here in June with a group from the Midsomer Murders Society for its annual weekend convention. We've been staying here for several years which speaks for itself....
