We stayed only one night at this hotel and we loved it since the very moment we arrived. If you are a lover of bigh hotel chains and their standarized amenities and service, tjis is not your place. Located just across the street from the beach and mantra huts, it is ideal for both summer and low season. La bluetter...

Scott M, Ellen K. The colonial-style premises, with a tree-lined courtyard and swimming pool, are charming and spacious. The owners Hugo and Alicia were extremely helpful and invariably cheerful. They helped us with restaurant recommendations/reservations, car rental and directions. Hugo even drove us to La Alberca, a fabulous local restaurant. The breakfasts were wonderfully prepared. The hotel is located in...

Have just returned from a trip to South America including Uruguay where we stayed at this delightful boutique hotel. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Hugo and Alicia, the owners, who showed us round the property and gave us helpful tips on restaurants and places to visit in the area. The owners' interest in art is carried over into...

We booked through Bookings.com. 2 rooms! When we arrived the 2 rooms were actually one with a curtain divided. Not acceptable for 2 men who both snore. The rooms were charged in advance, and the manager refused to refund the overcharge and stated that I would need to deal with my credit card company to resolve the issue. Classic bait...

Punta del Este, Uruguay, a Must See for a Trip to South America. The Challenge comes on where to stay. Accommodations are not easy to find and they can be expensive. Our Recommendation: Hotel „La Bluette,” La Barra, just north of Punta del Este. The Hotel is small and privately owned by an Argentine Diplomat and his Wife, Alicia and...

I wAs in punta del este for a conference and my plane came in 2 days early so I thought I would stay somewhere for a couple of nights. This is a guest house rather than a hotel, it is like staying in someone's house. I arrived looked at my room and realised it would not work, I wanted room...

After a long search for affordable accommodation that still had character, we lucked into an Tuscan like villa. Our corner room was huge with a canopy king size bed, a sitting area inside and our own private terrace. We were able to park our car right beside the room. The beach was a short walk away and we were provided...

Had a great stay there during a work trip. A very charming bed and breakfast, with interesting and tasteful decor, and non-traditional rooms -- bed with a canopy(!) and private terrace outside the room. It can serve as a very nice romantic getaway, so I was wishing that I didn't have to work and I were there with my husband...

[Please read my Trip Report in the Punta travel forum for a caution about renting cars there during high season and for tips on Punta in general] Regarding the Hotel la Bluette: Hugo is very attentive and keeps this intimate hotel looking great. I contacted him via email prior to arrival and he made us lunch reservations at La Huella...

Rooms are all different decorated. The location is optimal for La Barra and Manantiales´fans. And the possibility of going to the beach by walking it's ideal. A high remark to the friendly service (attend by the owners) and and the high quality of their breakfast (with fresh fruits, sandwiches, eggs, etc). Even in Punta everything is quite expensive and it's...
