We stayed at Sheep mountain lodge for 2 nights during our stay in the Matanuska glacier area. We had our reservation done over the phone and got a classic cabin (#5). The reservation process was very smooth and got an email confirmation with-in minutes. We had no challenge in finding the hotel using GPS. The location of the lodge is...

I stayed with my dog in this lodge for two nights in the end of August. This was one of the nicest accommodations I had in my four wk long road trip; it was cost effective, clean, cozy but spacious - Alaskan ranges and Matanuska glaciers by the side. It was all snow covered 1st morning - surreal landscape. I...

Sheep Mountain Lodge has lovely cabins for a road stop or just if you want to get out of town and enjoy the spectacular scenery. We stayed here in August and picked blueberries on the trails near the lodge. Very clean, nice restaurant, great service.

We only stayed one night on our way back to anchorage from Kennecott. Restaurant was much appreciated as we pulled in at 8 pm. Great halibut dinner. Well appointed cabin with plenty of space; uber clean; good heater. Staff very friendly. If we go back we would definitely stay there and do some hiking.

As we were driving down the Glen Highway at mile marker 113.5 we spotted the Sheep Mountain Lodge. Mark gave us a tour of the various lodgings and I especially liked the private cottage. The restaurant on site includes freshly baked breads and pastries not to mention the soups, chili and entrees. Breath taking views of the Mantanuska River and...

We loved our night at Sheep Mountain. We stayed in the bunk house with our two kids. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean and we had no issues with sharing a bathroom. We enjoyed hiking the trails and spotting the sheep on the mountains around us. (Bring your own binoculars!) We ate dinner and breakfast at...

My husband and I stayed in one of the cabins on Aug 29th. The cabin was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very flavorful and the portions were large. We would recommend this lodge highly.

New cabins. Everthing new and clean. The lodge has s short trail system around itself. The room only had two chairs for the table so we had to bring in a plastic desk chair from the porch for all of us to eat/sit at the table. We did not eat here but after we did a glacier hike later in...

This is a beautiful stretch of highway with few great options for motels or diners. These folks are great. Far superior than the much overpriced Majestic Valley Lodge just a mile up the road. There is nothing fancy at Sheep Mountain. Just honest food, good cabins, and friendly service. What more could you want?

We stayed at Sheep Mountain lodge on our way from Fairbanks to the Kenai peninsula as we were going ice trekking at Matanuska. This is the perfect place to stay when ice trekking as the glacier is ten minutes away. We stayed in cabin 2 which had a full kitchen, sofa and two beds. The place was clean and appropriately...
