We spent a night at the Carpenters Arms in November to celebrate a 75th Birthday. There were 16 of us and we enjoyed a superb meal that was served very efficiently and really hot by very friendly and accomodating staff. We stayed here and the rooms were all very clean with an added touch of fresh milk (in a flask)on...

Have stopped here once a year for the last few years and the place is very consistent. Great friendly atmosphere awaits with very attentive and helpful staff. A nice log fire for winter and a well stocked bar! Heaven. It is a little in the wilds but peaceful and an easy drive to Bath or Bristol. The rooms are of...

The "Carps" has been a long time favourite so was the choice for a lunch with family yesterday and we were not disappointed. Good, attentive service and enjoyable food. We indulged ourselves for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed the treacle tart and sticky toffee puddings with generous scoop of clotted cream. We will return!

beautiful pub in a serene and rural setting between Bristol and Bath. The staff were all very friemdly and efficient. The ensuite room was light, airy and well furnished. We ate two dinners and two breakfasts there which were excellent. All in all a classy place which I heartily recommend. We'll be back in the spring!

Stayed as a large family group in November 2014 for a birthday. They were very accomodating to the group, we were seated in a large room to ourselves for the evening meal. The food was excellent, large portions, nicely presented and excellent quality. We then sat in the bar area with a nice log fire, very nice on a rainy...

we returned to the Carpenters Arms as it is consistently good, the starter was excellent - the Ham hock terrine, the roast Pork excellent and the Cod on crushed potatoes was perfectly cooked. Having been many times before I opted for the Pollock in Beer batter and was not disappointed therefore they are highly recommended even reserving our favourite table in...

We went here for my boyfriends brothers 18th birthday meal. We were allocated our own little section with a huge table, it felt like we were at a medieval banquet! The food was superb, I had the fish and chips and then the chocolate brownie. Will be returning! Thank you

Good standard B&B with comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Food in general was very good with some interesting options on the menu and a good choice of wine by the glass, although the treacle tart did arrive freshly superheated from the microwave and as a result the pastry was soggy, the middle glutinous and the clotted cream on top had...

Very attractive pub, near Bath & Bristol (approx. 20-30 minutes away). Good secure parking. Cosy, clean bedrooms. Can be difficult to find (post code in satellite navigation didn't help). Friendly staff.

We made a return visit after staying here for a wedding four years ago. It's a delightful inn with luxurious rooms, excellent food and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's the sort of place you don't want other people to know about, so that you can keep it to yourself!
