My work colleague asked me if I liked pork chops. Well yes I do. Of course I do, who wouldn't, right? As we had a new French colleague starting we thought it'd be perfect to go to a traditional English pub. Our foreign colleagues love our 'proper' pubs. Jolly Tar, or as he called it the 'Pork Chop' pub was...

Stayed at the Jolly Tar this month. Rooms very nice and food excellent. And the publican is a riot! Great place to stay if you want the authentic English pub experience. The rooms are in what used to be the stable.

My wife and I were here for one night. The regular management were away and we met the owners mother, what a lovely lady !! She couldn't have done more to make our stay pleasurable. Breakfast was wonderful. I just wished we could have spent more time to appreciate the location.

The Jolly Tar has always been the place we go to celebrate special occasions and it is wonderful, unfortunately this year on 27th august we booked a table for 8pm for our wedding anniversary, we arrived at 7.50 and stood at the bar waiting to be served, two young lads were on bar duty in both sides of the pub,...

I've just come back from having dinner with friends here & although I have read a couple of troubling reviews about the landlord in particular I have to say I found this place to be very well presented. The lad behind the bar was lovely & very welcoming & the food was beautiful. Very tasty & very reasonable. I'm definitely...

The rooms are located to the rear of the village pub which are extremely clean, quiet and well equipped. The landlord Steve is very friendly and extremely accommodating. There is plenty of parking spaces. Our stay was very good value for the money. We would highly recommend the Jolly Tar for a base to explore nearby Cotswold towns and villages.

Visited for a family birthday meal. Service was excellent, very customer centric and welcoming. Food was sublime, great selection, well prepared and presented. A gold star and definitely going to visit again - I'd heartedly recommend it

My stay was great ! Nice hotel with a delicious breakfast. Fantastic pub, perfect for dinner. (Try the "Iron flat sirloin steak". You won't regret it.) The rooms are a little bit small but very cosy and very confortable. The host is very friendly, loving socializing.

Booked and arrived quite late and was given a quaint little room which was really warm, spotlessly clean and very modern. Bathroom was again clean and exactly what I needed at the end of a long journey. Very affordable and most welcoming staff. will definitely visit again.

Had a Sunday roast - a choice of 3 meats. It tasted lovely with lots of vegetables and extra gravy and then had a lovely selection of pudding and cheeses to choose from. Friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely fire going and a good atmosphere.
