I chose this hotel as tired of the chains. Staff could not have been more friendly. Room was great and the pillows and mattress were fantastic. The choice of food for breakfast is very good. I can highly recommend this hotel and will be back when in the area.

This was my second visit since the refurb and both times the meal has been let down by poor service. This time I felt compelled to leave a review of the slow and rude service received. On this occasion we dined with friends and our 2 children. On arrival I was told we were one highchair short for the table....

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hind's Head for a friend's wedding. Upon checking in, the general manager Mathieu gave us lovely room. The room was very cosy and always clean. We were also very hungry when we arrived, so after dropping our things in the room, we came right back down to eat. The food was perfect....

Great cotton crisp sheets, bouncy comfortable pillows & on a cold and frosty evening was very warm & Cosy. The food was very nice & the breakfast was...

The Hind's Head was a great place to stay. We loved the décor which is very well maintained. The Manager Mathieu and Charlotte were very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent with many choices on the menu. We were attending a wedding locally and requested that the room was ready by 12 noon and it was. We will be...

We stayed for two nights including special New Year's Eve dinner as we were attending a concert at Douai Abbey. The General Manager, Mathieu Triquart is excellent in every respect and is ably assisted by his staff, particularly by Charlotte, his partner. Choice of food is good and is good value, whilst the New Year's Dinner was special. A friendly,...

This is far from your standard village pub, it has been modernised and is very clean and sparkling. I stayed for 1 night due to our works Christmas party being held there. The 'comfy' room was very nice, a decent bed (standard double), ensuite shower room, light airy with the beams you would expect in an old building. Everything was...

Looks lovely on arrival, the rooms are so thoughtfully named! Our room was small but so beautifully decorated with everything you would need - it really did feel luxurious. We had drinks in the bar which was cosy and inviting, We also had a few shared plates to help the drinks go down that they too were super! Staff were...

We have now stayed in the Hind's Head twice and each time had a very comfortable room and a very pleasant meal, particularly on our second visit. The staff were friendly and attentive and we will very likely stay again.
