One of the worst experiences for a room tariff of 3000 INR per night. We had taken 3 rooms and non of the rooms were upto mark. We had to ask for change of room as the mattress was not good. Another room had smoke all over due to last client having smoked all day. Don’t know how they got such high reviews.
The hotel is very luxurious and they are maintaining very much in this covid situation. Their staff behavior is also very beautiful. Their food quality was good. So it is a good experience 😊😉 . So those who are interested can come here.
The worst part is no COVID safety norms are followed over here. The linens are unwashed and rooms are sanitized prior to occupying , only after repeated requests . I was astonished as to how a reputed hotel could be so indifferent to the pandemic. Never did i find the common areas like pool, lobby , restaurant to be fumigated or sanitized . Infact till this date i am afraid of contracting covid . The food is over priced neither tasty enough. It is only because its standard is higher than average or below average hotels near by , i had to stay here . But believe me , i would avoid it next time.
I have been visiting Tarapith since December 2014. For the first time, I had stayed in Hotel Binapani Lodge just opposite to Hotel Sonar Bangla. That was the worst evet trip for me. From the next time onwards, I started staying in Hotel Sonar Bangla. This trip was my 10th trip to Tarapith and my 9th stay in Sonar Bangla. I have literally nothing to say about the Hotel. Even during this Covid period, they have maintained all sorts of safety and precautions. I had taken my car and there is plenty of space for car parking. Even there are people who would wash your car. They took Rs 200 from me for washing my car and I was pretty ok with that. Right from the politeness and courteous behavior of the staff members to the comfortable cozy rooms, it is like Home away from Home. I would say it is probably the best hotel, you can stay there. They have plenty of rooms along with different prices to suit your budget. But, if you can book the pool side premium rooms, you will have a nice experience, they are large rooms but a bit costly. That's entirely upto your budget.…
the hotel is a god property but with a higher price.you have better choices available in goibibo with less price.location is good so also the room service and other amenities.one of the best property in tarapith available
This was our second visit to hotel sonar bangla situated in Tarapith. First time was fine. Second Time wasn't. Drove a car to the hotel. I wanted my driver to clean the car in the morning as we had a long journey ahead. The driver told me he needed a bucket for cleaning. I told the room staff to provide him with one, who instead instructed me to contact the receptionist. I went there, told him I needed a bucket for cleaning my car. He tells me hotel guests aren't allowed to be given a bucket to. I told him what about the person who have car and need cleaning. He told me there are car cleaning people assigned to do the task. I went outside to enquire about the same. The cleaning person demands Rs.150/- for normal cleaning of the car without any shampoo or anything. He would just pour a bucket of water and be done with it. A 150 Rs for a task which my is as simple as cleaning. These people who run this hotel are purposefully extorting cash from there guests who aren't exactly living free at the hotel. Who do these people think of themselves. I told the receptionist I would report the issue on tripadvisor. He was least bothered. He told me to go ahead. The management at the hotel needs to be looked into. Hotel in fine, the people running it is not. I will never again stay here. These people don't know how to treat guests. I've never seen a situation as bad as this one where no one is least bothered about you. All they care about is money.…
we had visited tarapit last week and stayed at hotel sonar bangla for a night. The hotel is well located with comfortable rooms, helpful & courteous staff and good food. While the hotel check out time is 11am, they allowed us to stay in our room till 2pm as our train was at 4,35pm
An average hotel. Though it has a car parking space and free WiFi, I guess I have stayed at better properties at Tarapith at cheaper rates. Could be made better. The room charges are needlessly on the higher side.
We had been to Tarapith by road (car). It was an awesome trip where to halt3d for few hours at shantineketan haat 🎪. We all bought some products and had lunch in that haat only. Place is awesome. Then we moved to Tarapith another 2 hrs journey. Awesome moments. Hotel sonar bangla we stayed at had awesome features.. We stayed there for 2 days... Will recommend this to every tourist landing upon there.
When one is spiritually inclined, the priorities change. Sonar Bangla is a decent property with nice rooms, although quite much highly priced for what it offers. However, what gives it the edge is its scale (it is big, compared to other notable hotels in Tarapith) and most important, it is disabled-friendly, because it doesnt have any stairs to climb at the entrance. The staff, I felt is a bit arrogant and nonchallant. Maybe the rudeness is a result of being the leader among properties. Some humility would help!
