Our family have lived in nearby Knysna for about 40 years and I first visited Noetsie as a young man and have always enjoyed the unspoiled and idyllic setting. Noetzie is a pristine, secluded beach which lies in a hidden bay bordered by the lush forest of the Sinclair Nature Reserve on one side and the fynbos landscapes of Pezula... More

We were a large family party staying in Craighross Castle right on Noetzie Beach. This is a stunning location on a beautiful beach. The accommodation was generally very good but there were a few obvious things missing. On the terrace which has fantastic views there were only 4 sun beds. Not a problem for our party but might be for... More

Craighross Castle is without a doubt one of the most special places we have ever stayed. What a privilege it was to have such spacious well appointed accommodation in such a unique and stunningly beautiful location. While we were there the entire Noetzie beach was ours, and ours alone for most of the day, and totally deserted from after 5pm... More

As a group of 10 people with some of us participating in the Knysna Forest Marathon, we needed accomodation which is always tricky around that time as the marathon attracts lots of visitors. We soon realised it would work out more or less the same price as a 'normal' b&b, if we would all stay together in gorgeous Lindsay Castle,... More

We spent 10 days at Craighross Castle with our 20 something children. It was an amazing experience - waking up to the beautiful sunrise over the beach, the surf sounds all days and the dark starlit skies at night. Bedrooms with full ensite were large and comfortable. Kitchen and dining facilities were first rate and were used for about half... More

We had an amazing time at this unique location and property. The whole place is eco friendly, using rain water and solar power. The building materials are sorced locally and the atmosphere is magical. There is a large beach and gentle lagoon and tons to do close by. We appreciated management's kind service.

We absolutely loved walking along the beach to get to the castle. As we rounded the corner we saw Lindsay Castle on what is practically its own private beach. The room was fantastic as the views are sensational. It was a large room with lovely old furniture. It had been prepared beautifully. We sat and looked out our window and... More

I booked this venue as my honeymoon location and can safely say it was the best decision ever. Those looking for a classic hotel experience will be disappointed but frankly it is not marketed as such. The room had the most breathtaking view anyone could ask for. Jean and Alan were the perfect hosts and the food was superb, wholesome... More

As a regular trip advisor writer, I had the pleasure of meeting the new managers at Lindsay Castle this weekend. In fact we were walking along the beach - being quizzy and Alan the manager drove past us. Thinking we were in trouble for trespassing, we were surprised to his reaction at us staring up the driveway - 'Would you... More

After seeing in a magazine the outside view of the Knysna Castle, pictured with the beautiful surroundings, we made a reservation for 3 nights. At the price, we were expecting what one is accustomed to in that range. At no stage were we told to expect no electricity, brown bath water, old and grubby bathrooms, a window that falls out... Sadly, the Castle is not everyone's idea of spending quite lazy, romantic, dreamy days. There are just some guests who unfortunately cannot break away from the usual hotel hospitality norm. We offer wonderful, warm simple cottage style accommodation, surrounded by unique castle stone walls, which most people seem to enjoy. Our beds are extremely comfortable, linen crisp and clean and the... More
