The setting was great but that is sadly where the positives end The room was dated and just acceptable The breakfast was very disappointing, there was a dog in the room that jumped up at the table, the cuttlery wasn't clean and the cooked breakfast was clearly precooked and kept warm.

We Know the setting is wonderful , and to buy the place you would have to be a wealthy person. All guests are informed that breakfast is served at 8.30 , nice and fresh , if you choose to come into the dining room at 9.00am then it will be warm , but not fresh. Little Tinker Bell (border terrier)...

The room was clean and tidy, the house is very quaint. However we had to keep asking for the heating to be turned on as the room was cold. The heating was switched off and on so the room was never at a consistent level. A tv would of been nice. House was noisy when other guests were up. Out...

It seems here that heating was the main concern....... so maybe we should put it in perspective ......... guests arrive approx . 4pm. on friday ..... ask for heating to put on ,,,,,,,, yes we would normally put it on in the evening to take the chill off the room.. not usual to have it on at 5.00pm. ......... from...

We booked a 2 night stay at Upper Ansdore to get away from the hecticness of London for weekend. We had a lovely stay and our hosts were very welcoming from the start. The pictures do not do it justice - the house is set in picturesque countryside surrounded by rolling fields, horses, and the occasional rambler - perfect for...

What a great find this country get away, snuggled up in the north downs, just what I needed to get away from the stresses and strains of life. The accommodation was immaculate but with a nice cosy feel to it. We enjoyed a full english breakfast before setting off on some lovely country walks ending up in a local pub...

My friends and i recently stayed at this quaint little guest house. The owners were very warm and welcoming. We had a heart warming full on breakfast to start the day. The rooms were great, and of good quality. Would definitely recommend! Stunning scenery as well!

Being a Professor in history Ansdore guest house was a treat - with its historical background, a beautiful open 'inglenook' fireplace and dark wooden beams throughout, yet all the facilities of the modern world - our stay was both comfortable and interesting. Although we faced traffic problems on arrival and were therefore very late (gone midnight), the husband and wife...

The owners were really friendly and accommodating and quickly made us feel at home (we were lucky enough to borrow their mountain bikes to explore the countryside and local pub!!) The room and ensuite were clean and comfortable. Location was perfect for us, being fairly close to Canterbury City Centre but on the doorstep to the most beautiful countryside. A...

A piece of old England.A charming traditional house with delightful garden.Trees heavy with delicious ripe cherries. Hosts were very helpful and accomodating at short notice.Stayed here on the way to Dover and liked it so much we stayed again on our return. Kids were welcome and our hosts went out of their way to facilitate our children. The children adored the...

I'd thoroughly recommend - with footpaths from the doorstep and scenery that's second to none Ansdore is tucked away in the midst of the Kent countryside and represents a true 'get away from it all' break - yet with the city of Canterbury only 7 miles away. If you are looking for a high end spec on the rooms then...
