A charming little hotel (guest house) just outside the famous village of Nuwakot in the foothills north of Kathmandu. Built of brick and thick timber, which is beautifully carved, we had two lovely en-suite rooms on the first floor overlooking the garden. Meals, which were very good, were eaten outside on the terraces or in the open courtyard. We enjoyed...

The pictures can't do this place justice! The food and staff are excellent, the atmosphere mind blowing. Well worth a visit. It's well worth the European prices and within reach of Kathmandu itself. Do yourself a favour and visit these lovely people in this beautiful place.

We spent two nights in October at the magical Famous Farm, which was an oasis of tranquility after the frenetic activity of Kathmandu. We loved the peaceful garden with a variety of places to sit and read, chat, enjoy a drink or just enjoy the beautiful green surroundings. The food, mostly in the local cuisine, was delicious, varied and plentiful....

The Famous Farm is exactly as advertised: stunning views and a very peaceful atmosphere. However the following points should be noted: - expect to pay central London Hotel prices for a hostel - not to meet any Nepali guests (this was explained to be the chosen hotel policy) - gain experience in aggressive guard dogs The Famous Farm needs some...

They describe this place as delightful and unusually interesting....what an understatement! It certainly may be surprisingly undiscovered, but the biggest surprise is that it actually exists at all. From the quaint rooms with timber all around, to the excellent meals prepared on the spot by the chef/cook, to the breath-taking views over the valleys.....this is a must stay if you...

A beautiful setting with views of mountains and tremendous grounds with jungle sized marigolds and other wonderful plants and flowers. The staff were really welcoming and friendly in the warm-hearted way of true Nepalis. I really enjoyed talking to some of them. The room had a mosquito net around the bed which was appreciated, and there was a good view...

A beautiful accommodation with its very special, comfortable and peaceful atmosphere. I would highly recommend staying here a few nights, especially if you want to get away from the busy city or after doing a trekking. The rooms are authentic (and with the best hot showers I had in my stayings!), the lovely staff look after you with great care...

The Famous Farm is tucked away up a big hill and hidden further by sitting below a track. A wonderfully restored traditional farmhouse the Famous Farm is pioneer of heritage buildings in Nepalese tourism. The views are incredible we looked out over the clouds from our balcony and it really was breathtaking. The food is delicious and the staff are...

We loved our two night stay at this beautifully restored collection of buildings. Each room is different, some have quaint balconies with fabulous views, they are clean and comfortable with rustic furniture. There are various nooks and crannies to sit inside the buildings and under covered verandas, also seats dotted around the pretty and well-kept garden. The food was delicious...
