This was my first time at a homestay, and I have come back with a very good experience, and a much higher urge to stay at a homestay again! I stayed at Victory Home for 3 days, and it was a wonderful experience - the absolute silence in the midst of Brigadier and Mrs. Ponnappa's coffee estate, a wonderful home with all facilities, and a very friendly, helpful and homely feeling provided by the owners, staff and even the lovable dogs! Pro's: - This is a real home, with all its amenities - It's in the midst of the Ponnappas' own coffee estate, so you can tour around in the peaceful and green surroundings - Absolute silence and peace all around, since the nearest public road is 1km away from the home! Con's - none worthy of a mention!
Myself and my wife stayed at Victory home for 2 nights, and the first thing that comes into mind is, "we never left home". It was like going and staying with your uncle and aunt for a few days. The way you are welcome and taken care off are unbelievable. This is one homestay where the guests and hosts stay together in the true spirit of a homestay. The bungalow feels antique and especially the way aunty has put in years of effort in collecting artifacts and decorating the home is amazing. There is a kitchen garden from where veggies are picked, you are welcome to go there anytime and learn a few things from aunty about herbs. There are enough plants to keep you busy for a day, if you like gardening. I guess what we remember the most is sitting in the veranda and garden in the…
My family enjoyed a great vacation at Brig. Joe Ponappa's Victory Homestay in Pollibetta, Coorg. We checked in on 25/12/2012 and checked out on 29/12/2012. Brig.Ponappa's wife Jancy is a perfect host and one can enjoy the warmth of her hospitality in her mouth watering authentic coorgi dishes. And if one enjoys non veg food, then her coorgi Pork curry is a must. Also her vegeatrian fare is superb. The location of the Homestay is amidst their 100 acre coffee Plantations. One can enjoy the tranquil and serene surroundings of their estate. Their House is truly a Dream house with all the artefacts from all over the country. Jancy's passion, energy and enthusiasm for doing things is truly marvellous. In fact her eye for small details can be seen in every things she does. We really had…
Victory Homestay is what it is... a home away from home! The location was picturesque and perfect, the weather was good, but above all, the people are awesome. Aunty Jancy is a thorough people-person, a great cook and a wonderful conversationalist. Her attention to detail can be seen in every nook and corner of the house, which looks like it is right out of a fairy tale... We just returned from our holiday in Victory HomeStay where we had a perfect holiday. We perfected 'the art of doing nothing' and good food was served to us at the right time. There was plenty of space and time to do what we wanted to do - read and laze around. We had such a great time there that we didn't even get out on to the road to visit the nearby tourist places, thought it was our first time in Coorg.…
We had just moved to Bangalore from Gurgaon & were itching to explore Coorg, since we had heard so much about the place. The long Diwali weekend offered us this opportunity & after a little research on the net, we booked Victory Homestay, home of Brigadier & Mrs. Cauvery Ponappa & their 3 dacshunds for 3 nights. I must admit that I was initially apprehensive of my choice since it was my first experience of a homestay. However, within 5 minutes of arrival, all doubts were laid to rest - and we were on our way to enjoying one of our best holidays ever. But first, the location... Travelling down from Bangalore, it takes approximately 6-7 hrs of driving to get there. Definitely get in touch with the Brigadier before you set out for the place, since he will give you the best…
