This was my first time at a homestay, and I have come back with a very good experience, and a much higher urge to stay at a homestay again! I stayed at Victory Home for 3 days, and it was a wonderful experience - the absolute silence in the midst of Brigadier and Mrs. Ponnappa's coffee estate, a wonderful home with all facilities, and a very friendly, helpful and homely feeling provided by the owners, staff and even the lovable dogs! Pro's: - This is a real home, with all its amenities - It's in the midst of the Ponnappas' own coffee estate, so you can tour around in the peaceful and green surroundings - Absolute silence and peace all around, since the nearest public road is 1km away from the home! Con's - none worthy of a mention!

Myself and my wife stayed at Victory home for 2 nights, and the first thing that comes into mind is, "we never left home". It was like going and staying with your uncle and aunt for a few days. The way you are welcome and taken care off are unbelievable. This is one homestay where the guests and hosts stay together in the true spirit of a homestay. The bungalow feels antique and especially the way aunty has put in years of effort in collecting artifacts and decorating the home is amazing. There is a kitchen garden from where veggies are picked, you are welcome to go there anytime and learn a few things from aunty about herbs. There are enough plants to keep you busy for a day, if you like gardening. I guess what we remember the most is sitting in the veranda and garden in the

My family enjoyed a great vacation at Brig. Joe Ponappa's Victory Homestay in Pollibetta, Coorg. We checked in on 25/12/2012 and checked out on 29/12/2012. Brig.Ponappa's wife Jancy is a perfect host and one can enjoy the warmth of her hospitality in her mouth watering authentic coorgi dishes. And if one enjoys non veg food, then her coorgi Pork curry is a must. Also her vegeatrian fare is superb. The location of the Homestay is amidst their 100 acre coffee Plantations. One can enjoy the tranquil and serene surroundings of their estate. Their House is truly a Dream house with all the artefacts from all over the country. Jancy's passion, energy and enthusiasm for doing things is truly marvellous. In fact her eye for small details can be seen in every things she does. We really had

Victory Homestay is what it is... a home away from home! The location was picturesque and perfect, the weather was good, but above all, the people are awesome. Aunty Jancy is a thorough people-person, a great cook and a wonderful conversationalist. Her attention to detail can be seen in every nook and corner of the house, which looks like it is right out of a fairy tale... We just returned from our holiday in Victory HomeStay where we had a perfect holiday. We perfected 'the art of doing nothing' and good food was served to us at the right time. There was plenty of space and time to do what we wanted to do - read and laze around. We had such a great time there that we didn't even get out on to the road to visit the nearby tourist places, thought it was our first time in Coorg.

We had just moved to Bangalore from Gurgaon & were itching to explore Coorg, since we had heard so much about the place. The long Diwali weekend offered us this opportunity & after a little research on the net, we booked Victory Homestay, home of Brigadier & Mrs. Cauvery Ponappa & their 3 dacshunds for 3 nights. I must admit that I was initially apprehensive of my choice since it was my first experience of a homestay. However, within 5 minutes of arrival, all doubts were laid to rest - and we were on our way to enjoying one of our best holidays ever. But first, the location... Travelling down from Bangalore, it takes approximately 6-7 hrs of driving to get there. Definitely get in touch with the Brigadier before you set out for the place, since he will give you the best

We stayed there for 2 nights and loved every minute of it. We were made to feel so comfortable by our hosts that we slipped into calling our hostess Aunty in a short time. My children who are aged 6 & 4 yrs were running around the place and loved every moment of it. They are already planning when they will be going back there again. It was great to get homemade and delicious food. Overall it was a great experience....

We had spent 4N there and it was an really a memorable experience. Especially the hospitality by Mrs.Cavery ponnappa is wordless to say...you feel like you are visiting your relative. The amenties provided were good enough to enjoy and the food she prepared was something too different and was good. The nature lovers would can definetly consider tis to a good place to stay with. The stay is surrounded by a beautiful garden with variety of fruits and vegetables in their garden apart from cofee planations...Worth going again.

This home stay is far away from city traffic. If you want to spend some peaceful time in the vicinity of fresh natural air of 100 acre of Tea state, this is the right stop for you. If you are planning to visit in and around MadiKeri city this may not be the right choice, because it’s around 40 Km from madikeri city. Home stay has 3 guest rooms, a dining area, and Kitchen. Cocking facility is available. Owner is quite supporting and she showed us the coffee plantation and a little info about how they grow the coffee there. Best time to visit this home stay is Feb, when coffee beans are ripe and ready to be plucked out.

Victory Home, a picturepostcard homestead on a coffee plantation, belongs to Brig. (retd) Joe Ponappa and his spirited wife Jancy. Staying with them is not only a delightful exposition to the nittygritties of coffee production but a gastronomical adventure into Coorgi cuisine and culture as well. The brigadier even fished in the pond on his estate for our consumption, while Jancy busied herself at the traditional cooking range. She whipped up the local Kodava favourite, pork prepared in a Pandi curry with a breakfast of Kadambuttu, a ball shaped rice puttu and the mosy scrumptuous dosa anyone ever prepared for us at home. Taking in the aroma of Arabica coffee while sipping some on the porch of the Ponappa home, one can hear the trumpeting of a herd of elephants in the vicinity.

We spent 3 days and 2 nights here and they have been one of the best times we had on any tour. Typical homestays we had seen till then were the minimilistic ones, but this is was indeed very different. It is truly like staying at home, very well decorated and complete with all the amenities you would need to feel comfortable. The differentiator, of course, is the hospitality by Mrs.Kaveri Ponappa....you feel like you are visiting your relative. You get coaxed to eat, try out new stuff and yes....there is loads of chatting as if you are catching up on old times. The home is tucked away from the main road and surrounded by lush greenery. Absolute peaceful environs help you unwind. We also would go for morning walks into their estate. If you love plants and flowers, which we do,
