Go to this place if you want to: 1. Get a local experience and learn about Kodava culture. 2. Eat delicious food that will make you want to keep eating for hours! 3. Learn a lot about gardening. 4. Stay in a huge property! (100 acres of coffee estate) 5. Stay in a very nice room that is clean, perfectly color matched, has beautiful roof windows for early morning light :) 6. Get to know and soon get very attached to aunty :) In all seriousness, homestays are supposed to be places where the owner also stays with the guests. Most of the homestays unfortunately are just hotels where you don't really get to stay in the home of the owner. But Victory Home is a homestay where you get to live in the same home where the owners of the estate live. You get to learn and absorb the culture

We recently stayed here at Victory homestay in Coorg. The rooms along with the entire house are wonderfully decorated and cosy and comfy. The hosts are very charming, especially Aunty who is ever so cheerful and always eager to give you a cup of coffee anytime. The coffee is from their own coffee plantation. The garden surrounding the house is so beautiful with variety of flowers in bloom, including orchids. The homemade food is also delicious. Ideal for a family with kids.

Hi All, We stayed at this home stay in Coorg last weekend for 2 days. We had the perfect vacation we were looking for. Its an estate bungalow amidst 100 acre coffee plantation. Kaveri aunty(the proprietor)cooks by herself for the guests and she cooks lovely food. We were vegetarians and she gave us a good food spread for each meal. All meals were fresh and homely and most important it was firewood cooking( :) ) They have 3 cows in their estate and so coffee/milk made are from fresh milk. Ghee is also homemade(from the fresh cream of their cow milk), fruits from their garden as well as juice they served all yumm..yumm.. There is a small stream that flows in their estate which was lovely and my son had a good time playing. They had a lovely lawn with beautiful varieties of

I can't thank Brig. Ponnappa, Aunty and Nikki for this wonderful break that we had with our youngest daughter. The rooms are excellent. We had the red room. Lovely, spacious bathrooms. Very well maintained. The gardens give you that sense of peace and tranquility. It's a riot of colours with the flowers blooming everywhere. The lotus/ lily ponds are filled with flowers and so is the drive way and you're welcomed with by the sigh of the flowers. There's green everywhere. Even the drive into the estate is a pleasure. We took several walks in the estate just soaking in the atmosphere. Aunty's food is superb. They serve breakfast and you have to let her know if we require dinner. You can have lunch at Gonikoppa or at the a newly built hotel very close to the home stay. She's

The hosts are extremely warm and accommodating - especially the lady of the house, with whom I enjoyed a glass of wine and stimulating conversation over the stillness of the night. The place is immaculately maintained, the rooms are comfortable, and the decor is mainly traditional with cool antiques and brass artifacts all around. The food at this place deserves a special mention. Mrs. P truly enjoys spoiling her guests with delicious food all day long :) Nothing thrilled the Bengali in me more than the delicious fish curry that was served during our stay! The rice pooris were awesome and the Coorg style chicken curry out of this world :)

We had never experienced home stay, but once we reached there, this was the ultimate experience for us. Both the owners, Brig Ponnapa and his wife( we called her Aunty) made sure that we were comfortable. Food made by aunty was so tasty and she put in extra efforts to match our taste. Mobile Network rarely works here and that was the bliss that I was looking for. Long walks inside the plantation with family was something that we will remember for a long time. Only disadvantage if I were to mention, would be the location of the place.

Another home stay...& it turned out to be a bliss...again. well, about the home stay...it is located in Pollibetta, near Tata coffee estates. If you want to stay away from the city madness, then this is the place. off course, you don't come to Coorg to stay at Madikeri, you come here to feel the nature amidst a coffee estate. my accounts...... a clean house, full of antiques and woodwork....a definite delight. Before this trip, I thought coorgi food is some blend of kerala & karnataka cuisine. But its not. You must taste home made food prepared at the hands of Mrs Ponnappa...to understand what it is. I loved it. Do take a walk around the coffee estate during your stay & try to find out how coffee & spices are grown. Caution...... If holiday & shopping are synonyms for you...then

Wonderful property in Polibetta. WE stayed here for 2 nights in 2011 June. Right in the middle of the coffee estates. Perfect for those who want to get away from the routines of daily life. Might be slightly away from the main towns and so transport can be a bit of a hassle. The hosts are very friendly and know how to offer hospitality without intruding on your privacy. Wonderful and energetic couple! I m kinda surprised this place is not higher in the TA ratings. Aunty cooks very good food and has a battalion of helpers who ease it out for her..

My first ever home stay experience and a good one... Stayed there for 2 nights and the stay was very comfortable... Pros: Awesome coffee, authentic local food (coorgi style), beautiful house, nice and helpful owners Cons: poor mobile connectivity (read negligible), far (45 Km) away from main attractions (i am considering abbey falls, raja's seat, omkareshwar temple and talakauvery as main attractions) Bottom line: if u r in a mood to get on the road and cover all main attractions of coorg in 2-3 days I would advice to stay somewhere in Madikeri itself but if u are want a break from ur normal high paced city life then this is the place to go and unwind...

Victory Home is a very very nice place. Perfect for people who want to take a break from city life and wish to be with nature for some time. And add to this very nice Coorgi style food and some great home made wine.....aha!!!....life couldn't be better. I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and son and enjoyed to the fullest. They took care of us really well. They also helped to prepare food and everything that we needed for the baby. Just that I missed the opportunity to do fishing although everything was perfectly arranged...may be next time. Great stay and we are back with wonderful memories. Thanks to Brigadier Ponnappa and Maam for all the support that you extended. My family really enjoyed the stay. Indrajit, Priyanka and Aaran (Stayed for 3 nights in May 2013).
