Overall, I had a great experience with The Birchwood Retreat, staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect for a family get together. The only advice from my side is to increase the speed of F&B service. Would recommend to others👍😊

location-pet friendly-clean-neat-the breakfast buffet-Spacious rooms-Swimming Pool. Not much to order from the menu sent for Lunch and Dinner. I think the menu needs variety but this is subjective. Breakfast: First day we didn't get a Breakfast Buffet. I guess there was low occupancy. Second day we got Breakfast buffet. It was very good excellent. Was really happy with it. Disliked · The quantity of the food to cost it very disappointing so much that it made me angry. I had ordered Vermicelli Payasam and I got a tiny bowl with 4 tea spoons of the vermicelli payasam.SERIOUSLY!!! ARE YOU GUYS KIDDING ME????? It was ridiculous made me extremely angry. When I am charged Rs 200-300+ for a dish like that..I should get a decent amount. When I mentioned that to the restaurant chap he said... sorry sir I did mention it to chef. So next again I ordered the same dish. And this time I got a decent amount. So put simply the price of the food Vs the quantity balance is extremely bad. This needs to be corrected. Guest who order food and see the quantity less should return the dish with a mention to staff about the quantity. Breakfast: First day we didn't get a Breakfast Buffet. I guess there was low occupancy. THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT WHICH I FOUND EXTREMELY NEGATIVE: When I was checking out I brought all my luggage doing 2 rounds to my room and to reception. and left it all at the reception while I was paying up and checking out. Not one not once did any staff ask if they can help with the luggage? All my luggage was in the reception piled up till I paid the bills and check out. Even after that not one staff offered to help with my luggage to load into the car. This I thought was extremely wrong. You don't just take care of the luggage when your guest check in..you also help them when they check out. THAT"S VERY IMPORTANT. Hope this will be corrected. WILL I GO BACK AND STAY THERE? Yes, of course I will and will also recommend this place to my friends and relatives especially with PETS... I really like the place. Just that the above mentioned points needs to be addressed by the management. They have such a lovely place and things like these will set them back.

We stayed here for 2nights, and I cannot express how this place exceeded all our expectations. These guys are magical, especially to name a few staff here starting with Abhishek- Reservations, Prashant- Service team and lastly Varun-the tour guy, these guys made our trip absolutely amazing. The spa was incredibly super. The villa is beautiful and so much of space , good amenities and super service from the housekeeping team to make this villa look spectacular. The view from each room took our breath away. A must visit for everyone who visits Coorg. The food is so local n so yummm. (Thanks Prashant to make sure we are fed well)We are one absolutely happy family to visit this resort. Thanks guys for making our holiday magical. All the best to the team Swapnil Dubey

Me and my wife stayed at Birchwood retreat on 1st Nov 2021. We can certainly say this resort is not how it was showed in the pics. Its rather small and not much to see or walk around. From the start till the end it wasn't a stay to remember. The guests were not received properly and left to find our own way to parking and to reception. No one was there to guide the guests or help with the luggage until you go to reception and ask for help. I did complain about this though I was told the staffs were new to the work. Our room was average, rather like a boutique hotel with no scenic view whatsoever. Television had only hand full of channels to see, which ever channel we change it says needs to be subscribed. Substandard level of running a so called luxury resort. We ordered lunch and dinner  to our room. Food quality, taste and portions are good as long as you are paying for what you eat.We paid around 12k for a night stay in which only breakfast and a high tea and snacks was included as complimentary. Though the high tea provided was not at all orderly, we were waiting and the way the boys catered was pathetic. Either they forget to give the coffee/ tea or they give a luke warm tea. When we asked for the snacks, the person who was catering us nodded his head and moved away but no snacks were served even after waiting for a long time. We got pissed off and left the place. The breakfast buffet was average and very less items. Taste too was not so good. The worst part is their hospitality. None of the staffs working in that resort know what is customer service, no one is trained in hotel or hospitality management. No one greets you or give you a smile if you pass any of the staff in the corridors or while serving food but down right ignores you and doesnt even meet your eye even if you are standing somewhere looking for help or guidance and wont ask you if you need anything. While checking out no one asked if we enjoyed our stay, if the food is good etc.. No one even tries to get your feedback or recommendations but slaps you with the invoice and silently stands until you make the payment and get out. Doesnt even help you with your luggage until the car parking. The resort environment is so gloomy. They just want to run this business for the sake of running. Completely dissatisfied with the stay we had. Not at all worth the money spent. We dont recommend this resort to anyone looking for a great vacation experience. There are better resorts charging much less but with more trained and courteous staff who make you feel welcome and makes sure you had a pleasant stay.

I went with a few friends and was initially quite anxious because I would have to work as well. The wifi and all facilities were top notch. The staff took even the smallest complaints very seriously and tended to it immediately. Special thanks to Sumanth for going that extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect. The entire retreat is extremely beautiful and very calming, have nothing to complain about.
