Stayed at this property for a night with family and its a great experience. The owner is very homely and the property is surrounded by private coffee plantation. Also the dinner served at night was authentic coorgy cusine and was so so nicely cooked. Will love to go back to this place again and again.

Berry lane is located in the middle of a coffee plantation. The food is awesome....we let them decide on the menu but specifically mentioned that we wanted coorg cuisine. There is a beautiful deck where we used to chill. The rooms are basic. It was a boon to have poor internet and network.... the family bonded. We heard wild elephants at night... they were inside the plantation. Very exciting for us city bred people.

1) If you are on a holiday with the sole intention of being totally cut-off from the maddeningly stressful life of the city and want to be among nature, then there is no better place than Coorg Berry Lane. Its amidst a beautiful Coffee plantation, ages away from the town and will rejuvenate you post a 2 day rest. 2) However, if you have travelled 900 kms. from a different state and visiting Coorg for sight seeing, then this surely is not where you would want to stay. It’s far far away from the sights of interest. We had an harrowing time going to Madikeri and getting back to the guest house. 3) Breakfast is bland. Dinner is Super. The charges were reasonable as well. 4) Book only the rooms at the ground floor. The one’s with the antique furniture and all. The view from the balcony here is very good. For a thrifty traveler like me, they are expensive though. The standard rooms are like something in the basement. Though not bad, not that great either. We had booked these. The approach to the rooms gets dark in the night.

After calling a number of homestays/hotels within Coorg, this one was the best according to the reviews. But should we go by reviews & pics these days ? as I am sure all the reviews here were not really true . Good reviews just increases the number of victims like me and my family . The owner who "greeted" us only pretended to be friendly , and looked too busy in his own world. Nill network in the place , no wifi shared as promised on phone by Mr Uthappa(Owner) before going there .It was only shared when we had to transefer money. Bad rooms with full of insects and no measure taken by the property owner to get rid of them . No option of food to choose .No courtesy to even ask preferance but charged heavily. Bad toilets with clogged showers. Not good power backup as we had to stay one whole night without lights. We only Thanked God for the moonlight.

I fell in love with this place. It's in middle of a coffee plantation. Beautifully maintained with lot of antique furniture collection. Rooms are decorated aesthetically. Breakfast is good however dinner is amazing, better than any restaurant. Highly recommend this place.

So a group of 9 adults and 4 kids landed in Berry Lane and occupied the entire place of 4 rooms. The home is beautiful and Mr. Uthappa was very hospitable and friendly. We stayed there for 3 nights and had a wonderful time, the two deluxe rooms are bigger and the standard rooms are ok in size but can be spruced up aesthetically to make it as good as the deluxe rooms. It's very basic and bare. But that's also fine for the price which is ₹2500 per standard room. The sit out of the main room is just stunning and all of us were comfortably accommodated in the sprawling and well done up area. One thing that could have been better - More options for breakfast. We dint get to taste any special coorgi dishes for breakfast. It was the regular Upma and idly. There was just one fruit offered papaya and that was not sufficient for all of us. Of course there was the standard bread and omelette alternate which got a little boring. Would have liked breakfast to have been better in that sense. Dinner on the other hand was an amazing spread and sumptuous. All the food served everyday was tasty, healthy and yummm! The rooms are fine, specially the main room in the main section of the house. Others are plain and ordinary in comparison. So when you go in a group it will lead to comparisons and hard to decide who takes which one. All in all an absolutely beautiful and comfortable place that you should try!

We stayed for 3 nights in Berry Lane home-stay in June 2016 and had the most wonderful time. We were 7 people including my husband, our son, my dad and in-laws and the vacation was memorable as it was homely atmosphere in the middle of the estate, serene and as close to nature as it can be. The home cooked meals by the in house cook and the regional food they served was fantastic. The highlight was also the freshly brewed Coffee which they served 2-3 times/ day was perfect for the rainy weather we had. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Well a reasonable priced homestay with some great view. We had taken the standard room which was clean and well maintained. The breakfast we had was Upma which was ok, but the idli was hard and sambar watery. We were visiting a friends wedding at the nearest Kodava Samaj so did not go for the lunch or dinner on both the days. I hope they have some games apart from badminton. Overall a nice place to visit.

Berry Lane is an extremely gorgeous property, and the positives stop right there. We reached there around mid-day and asked if they could prepare us a basic meal for which we would pay extra (it is located in the middle of nowhere with no accessible restaurants and transport), but they flatly refused. They grudgingly offered us coffee, which came after 45 mins. Berry Lane doesn't even serve you breakfast if you tell them a day in advance. A part of the homestay charm is the food, otherwise one would simply stay in a hotel. Berry Lane fails on almost all counts. Secondly, half the lights in the room weren't working. The geyser wasn't working well, and the water force of the shower was pathetic. It was like bathing under a tap. This was the Deluxe room Third, we had to step out at 7 PM, and the entire property was dark. No lights were put up anywhere, which is especially dangerous considering the property has snakes uncomfortably close to the rooms. The property itself is very green and gorgeous, but that hardly matters if basics like safety, electricity and food aren't taken care of. A proper waste of money, I'd say.
