Hidden jewel. If you want to stay away from hustle bustle of city and relax in midst of nature. This is the place for you. Heaven for book readers. Offer awesome landscapes and has many trekking routes too. I went there with friends. Will definitely visit there again.

This is an excellent place to rest, find peace, make gorgeous hikes trough the incredible magical forests of courg, and explore the abundance of Indian nature. And besides, it is a very romantic place to stay!! The hosts are amazingly sweet and make sure you have a peaceful and wonderful stay. Breakfast and diner are absolutely great. The typical Indian dishes they serve at night are delicious. Recommend this place to everyone!!

Stayed 3 nights in a simple room, basic room but all we needed and great value! Honey valley it an amazing place to trek and there's so many treks to choose from, be prepared with suitable footwear etc or if you don't want to trek it's just lovely to relax away from the hustle bustle of towns and cities. Owners are very friendly and helpful and if you're an animal person there's lots of dogs and puppies to play with! Lovely meals cooked every day - just let them know in advance if you're not there for a meal, and they do packed lunches! Would definitely recommend and visit again!

Are you someone who loves to spend your vacations away from all electronics gadgets ...

Are you someone who loves to be disconnected from the whole world for a few days during your vacation,..

Does stay in the midst of a coffee estate very close to the forests excites you?

Do you prefer luxurious accommodations, or prefer to sleep in natures lap (though it has everything you need though not as you see in other so called resorts or home stays)

Then, here is an amazing combination, a property so close to the highest peaks in Coorg, blessed with natural beauty, beautiful water streams, water falls, trek tracks, off road tracks, and all types of cosy stuff you would expect...

Must try out if you are true nature lover. If you have a 4X4 vehicle, there are many trails you can try out...!

To top it all, you will really enjoy the company of the hosts - Mr Suresh & his wife who will be taking care of the guests like their own people.

Honey Valley is by far the most amazing homestay that I've stayed in. The location, the people, the place.

Booking - I browsed for places to stay at Coorg and stumbled upon the website of Honey Valley. Instantly, I knew this is the place where I would want to stay. Called up. Suresh answered and I booked the room immediately through e-fund transfer (very minimal amount. Did not even ask about cancellation refund cause I was not going to cancel it.)

Reaching - We went to Coorg by Car. Google map shows incorrect location. So I juxtaposed the location shown on Honey Valley website onto my google maps and reached via madikeri. Best is to call up Honey Valley (either Suresh/Jack will answer and get directions from them.) Once I reached Kabbinakad, Honey Valley's Jeep picked us up and showed the place to park our vehicle too (parking at just Rs25/day). One cant' reach the place without Jeep, its inaccessible through Cars/2 wheelers and there's no road.

Staying - First night we were put in a Perch room. Really beautiful, cute little room with a nice view of the outside. The rooms did not have bugs / insects and Suresh bet me 10Rs for every mosquito I could find. (Happy to say I dint make any money in this bet!). The beds weren't damp and did not have any bed bugs as I had read in 2-3 reviews on tripadvisor. Second and third day we were put up at Tranquil Rooms which had private balcony area. Lovely!

Hospitality - Its by far the most hospitable hotel I've stayed in. My wife also has similar view. The people, Suresh, Suresh's wife, Jack, Anna, Ganesh and all other were always smiling and pleasant to talk to. There wasn't any shouting of any kind on any servant. Maybe because all were treated with a lot of respect and all worked in tandem and without any laxity. Had really good long chats with Jack about the place, trekking, his being here, everything.

Traveller Tip - Just be here.

Visited this place last month. This home stay charges for everything except water i guess. Even the coffee, food, snack are charge at high price. No place to visit around. Very dangerous travel to home-stay. Charged for pickup and drop facilities, i thinks since there is no option to reach in own vehicle also the cabs charges should be free. Please don't plan for this home stay.

This place can be reached from Mysore : 150 km, Bangalore : 250 km, Mangalore : 170 km. As you reach Bangalore, from there Mysore it takes about 3hrs, from there you have to take a bus to Virajpet (Virajendrapet actually) takes about another 2hrs30mins. From there you can either take a bus to Kabbina kad or take a van it is about 27kms from Virajpet bus stand. You have to call the Homestay people as soon as you take a transport from Virajpet so that they will arrange the 4 wheeler to take you up hill. You will enjoy the first bumpy and rock climbing ride in the JEEP which is adventurous this is the last 2kms to reach the place and is the ride of your life.

The Homestay is run by Mr & Mrs. Suresh and Sushila Chengappa down to earth couple who own the entire place. The resort is itself is bang in the middle of the coffee plantation. Their son Mr.Sharath also assists in the smooth running.

We stayed here last year in August. We chose this place completely based on Trip Advisor reviews.

As soon as we reached we realised that the place is huge and beautiful. We were really happy to have chosen this place. We went out to check out the waterfall after checking in leaving our wallets in the room (BIG MISTAKE!!!).

Next day when we decided to go to Tadiandamol, we realised that 3000 was stolen from my wallet. We did not want to create a scene (ANOTHER BIG MISTAKE!!) as we were not sure which staff member had taken it. We informed the owner about it and we were hoping that he would atleast try to find out who took the money. He heard the entire incident and blatantly started lying to our faces that they do not have an extra key for the rooms.

WHICH HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE AN EXTRA KEY?!?!?!?!

The attitude of the owner shocked us and we decided to check out a day earlier. He was clearly not bothered by the entire incident. I will never recommend anyone to stay here.

I want to give this place ZERO STARS but sadly trip advisor does not have an option.

Stay at honey valley has been most memorable and i would definately would like to go back and stay for more days. We all friends, family along with kids have been there on 15th Aug long weekend for 2 Nights . I felt was very less days to stay when it was time to go.The owners Mr &Mrs Chenggappa(Uncle & Aunty) such wonderful people they are and very good host to there guest. They have many helpers with them in the property. Thanks to all of them including Uncle and Aunty. Thanks to Haroon who takes care of orders for meals all day. Ganesh also.

Meals are the best there. I got special food ready for my daughter. It was just amazing stay at honey valley. Our kids loved it too.

I recommend this place for peacuful and relaxing stay, nature walk, waterfall, and surrounding areas to explore, people interested in trekking, kids also can enjoy. Rains also good time to visit. recommended all seasons.

They should have something for kids. In rains its ok as kid sit in one place but other seasons i think a play area should be there for kids.

The location is breath taking.. the freshness in air is amazing..

The rooms are too ordinary for a homestay too.. mosquitoes are a constant trouble. So please carry mosquito repellants..

The not so nice part is about the dining area and cooking area.. I felt a tongue on my foot, only to realise that there is a dog underneath the dining table.. the ladies at the table got mad.. when I went inside the kitchen to request for help, I noticed two more dogs in the kitchen area with cooked food left open..

I am not sure if we had the food after it went through the pet's tongue.. loving the pet is one thing and allowing them in live kitchen is another.. and that for guests..

The food charged was also on a higher side for what they offer (very basic)..

So a two star for the location and food/ hygiene experience together..
