We went to Magnolia for a much served weekend away after a hectic time. The resort is set in a lush green plantation, and it is really relaxing. The surroundings are are really beautiful, and the lakes/ponds are lovely too. The rooms are huge, but quite sparse. The bathroom was even larger, but the huge size and cold weather made it a bit uncomfortable. Overall it was very comfortable, if not luxe. The food was the downside. The options were quite limited with just standard north indian and indo-chinese fare. When we requested, we were provided some local cuisine for lunch. Breakfast also had 1-2 local options but nothing great. There is no room service. In terms of a activities, we took a guided walk around the plantation, and spent some time at the badminton court. They do have a few games and a collection of books. The manager interacted with us while we were at the reception and he even got us made a special orange chilli drink! And was kind enough to give us some green pepper to take home. The drive is a little longer from Bangalore considering it's closer to the Kerala border. And do note there was no mobile network (vodafone) at all, and wifi was available only at the reception. While we would love to come back to the resort for it's beauty, the food options would make us think twice.

We chose Magnolia Resorts for a quick short break during Covid times. Since the resort is spread over 75 Acres it was apt for physical distancing as the cottages are all spread out amidst dense flaura and fauna - A perfect natural setting to recoup and rejuvenate. This place is abound with a variety of birds and insects; their chirping and buzzing is soothing to the ears and mind, an absolute treat for us city dwellers. Mr. Praveen and the staff all around the property were very courteous and on their toes to be of service to us. The first meal we had was very spicy and not to our taste, but on explaining our requirements to the Restaurant staff, the food thereafter suited our palate. There is enough to explore within the estate that it's for each of us to make the best use of it. I would recommend Magnolia Resorts to family and friends.

Our 2 nights-3 days stay at Mangolia was lovely overall. To begin with, I must say that the best part about it is the landscape: 75 acres of plantations, 2 lakes, walking trails and cottages spread out all across. GORGEOUS! PROS: What we loved about our stay at Magnolia - Access: Easy to find and drive to using Google maps. - Cottage aesthetics and decor: I fell in love with the vintage furniture in the rooms and common areas. The colour palette and wood/brass feel is truly charming and tastefully done. - Size of rooms: Spacious, sunny, well ventilated and comfortable. - Reception and room service: Praveen (the manager) was polite, professional and helpful at all times, even when we had feedback to provide or additional requests to make. The staff attending to the cottages was also polite and courteous at all times. - Use of disposables: For all of the room service orders as well as food served in the restaurant, the use of disposable cutlery put our mind at ease during these unusual times. CONS: What we were disappointed by - Restaurant service: 3/5 of our meals were very disappointing in terms of the wait time for food to be served (usually 30-60 mins. Eg: Breakfast was supposed to begin at 7.30am but we had to wait until 8.30am to be served). They had to be asked repeatedly for what was available Vs possibly made-to-order and reminded to attend to the table. They also failed to enforce distancing or use of masks within the restaurant, especially when large groups were visiting and many guests were not following rules in a pandemic. - Upkeep and amenities in cottages: While the cottages themselves are very pretty and beautifully furnished, we felt that for the price we paid there was a lack of attention to detail such as maintenance of old furniture, minimal options of coffee/tea bags, wear and tear of fixtures in general. While we would definitely love to go back here someday soon, we feel the property really needs to fix some of these issues to truly make their offering worth the pricing. They have a splendid landscape to their advantage and these improvements will make them one-of-a-kind!

Full marks on hospitality and food. This is located towards the Road to Kerala from Virajpet. The Villa is atop hill and absolutely gorgeous! You can cycle through the estate in mornings and evenings if walking all the way is not your thing. I could come here again with family or friends.

I had a truly spectacular experience here courtesy the team at the resort led by Rajasekharan, Mani, Puneet and Praveen. I was privileged enough to spend 2 mesmerizing nights here, in absolute harmony with nature, beautiful campfire dinners under the full moon, ultra-spacious cottages with top-draw toiletries, nature walks within the coffee estate and an ever-smiling bunch of people ready to cater to your every need. Hands-down, the place to be in Coorg. The only improvement could be regarding the buffet breakfast on the first day which was very ordinary and bland, but was quite good the next day.
