Absolutely fantastic holiday.
Property is located in lush green coffee estate in Virajpet. My family stayed there for 3 nights / 4 Days. Place is having nicely maintained, traditional big rooms.
Few best experiences that I would recommend at this place.
1. Coffee plantation walk early in the morning
2. Have your silent gala time with yourself / family at bench next to Lake
3. Try Chettinad Raw Banana prepared by Amma at stay
4. Play Badminton (BYOE) / Carrom / TT with your family.

Mr Murugan and his staff + family took very good care of us. This vacation could not be so great without his support.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this place if you want a vacation with your family in the lap of nature.

The place is very clean and the surroundings are very mesmerizing. The breakfast was complimentary and the food was tasty. You can have a nice view of the coffee plantation from the balcony. Its away from the main town so if you like to spend some time in nature, this is the best place...

Booking this place was the best decision I ever made! I visited Windchimes just for a weekend, with my family and a large group of friends. On hearing that there was no wifi or even a cellular connection (except for airtel), I thought I'd be thoroughly bored. I'm so glad I was wrong. Not once did any of us feel the loss.
The property is absolutely stunning, with a lovely lake, campfire spot and spacious, beautifully furnished rooms. The open plan dining area with recreational activities kept us all entertained when the rain prevented our forages into nature.
The staff deserves a special mention. They all went beyond the call of duty to make our stay memorable. We could not have asked for a more friendly or approachable group of people. The chef...he is a local treasure! The food was lip-smackingly good.
So.. would I recommend this place to others?? Hell yeah!

They have not given the room we booked. Rooms were dirty and not properly maintained and cleaned. But full amount was collected well in advance. Response from staffs were very bad. Food was very bad. They bought food from near by hotels and serve in packets like street foods.

If you have standard service expectations from a hotel, please lower them when you stay at windchimes.

From getting your room cleaned to asking for omelette to be served with breakfast, everything has to be specifically asked for and then you have to wait. The hotel touts it’s non-veg food, but doesn’t stock eggs in their fridge!! They serve a standard Breakfast included in the stay, but omelette and fruits are charged for additional. They have no shame also in charging for half cup of warm milk for a baby.
Rooms don’t get cleaned unless specifically asked for.
Our dinner was included in the package but the standard menu was never served. No starters, no dessert, not even a green salad.
They tout a coffee plantation tour, but other than showing-‘this is a coffee plant’ nothing more happens.

And when all the above were pointed out to the hotel manager/care-taker, his every reply started with a oh I’m so sorry I forgot!

I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Dear Sir/Ma'm At the outset we would like to apologize for all the inconvenience you faced during your stay with us. I would like to address your concerns. Regarding omelette : We did check with you if you would like a fried egg, but unlike other food items Omelette cannot be stored in a Hot Case since it has to be consumed immediately. We store eggs in the store room which is just a few meters away from the restaurant. Regarding fruits : We alternate between cut fruits and fresh fruit juice for breakfast buffet. Since you had asked for a specific fruit which was not in our menu for the day we offered to buy it from the market which we did and only charged the actual price that we brought it for any surcharges. Room cleaning : the reason we don't is we don't any complaints later regarding the valuables being stolen or any such things, so we clean up the room in the presence of the guest. Milk for baby : We don't charge for anything consumed in the restaurant but we do charge a service fee for Room service as is the standard procedure. Coffee tour : We were informed that just wanted to go for a walk so one of our helpers accompanied you for your safety, we should have double checked and we accept we were at fault here. Further more we have even let your helper inside the kitchen to make food for your baby since you wanted in a certain way, we were willing to accommodate and ensure that your stay was pleasant.

To start with it was an exquisite visit to coorg and to windchimes retreat resort. The amenities are perfect and room is so vast that my child who is 1year old felt very homely. We wake up to the beautiful birds chirping and can have a book in our hand and laze around in the lawns. The food was absolutely great. The special part was, there is no buffet concept, the chef asks you for the order of ur choice and prepares exactly if you have had any specifications. They had a very serene place to sit and eat or the food can be ordered directly to the room. To end with the experience we had at windchimes is we did not visit any other place in coorg and stayed back at the resort to spend some pleasant time.

It was our first trip to Coorg with family when our cousins came visiting us. After a lot of research, we finalized Windchimes as our stay. Started from Bangalore late in the day around 4:30 pm, we planned on having dinner on our way to Coorg. When we could not find any decent place, we called Mr. Robert at Windchimes for some suggestions. He was very open and willingly accepted to cook dinner for us as we were running late and there were not many good restaurants on our way. We reached Windchimes around 10:30pm. Firstly our cab driver was scared to take his new Innova through the coffee plantation. But Mr. Robert eased him and confirmed that it's an easy way for the car. The downward drive (about 100-200 mt) is through the plantation and can easily be done by any car. Mr. Robert and his team was on the gate to welcome us. Getting our rooms was a breeze. First surprise.. the sumptuous meal that we got for dinner. It was just perfect for our North Indian liking, and we couldn't have got a better meal on our way. The second surprise.. The rooms. The rooms at Windchimes are huge, neatly maintained, very pleasing. Even the attached bathrooms are huge. The rooms can easily accomodate 3-4 people, if you can manage on extra beds. The beautiful decor, specially the heavy, carved wooden doors add to the beauty of this place. It's perfect for couples as well as family stay. We could not roam around the artificial lake much, as it was raining most of the time, but it surely was pleasing. Very nice indeed...Not to miss the food cooked by Mr. Ghosh. It was the best we got in our entire trip. We opted to have dinner at Windchimes for both the nights. We did try some restaurant in Coorg while visiting places, but it was not far from disaster, and all of us willingly planned to have dinner at Windchimes only.

All thanks to Pradeep for managing every detail of our booking, Mr. Robert and his team to make our stay so pleasing and their help in every manner and Mr. Ghosh for the food. A perfect vacation. We are surely going to stay at Windchimes, whenever we visit Coorg again.

A highly recommended place to stay while you visit Coorg.

This Property is about 6kms away from the Virajpet town and the route till the property is great, we reached around 9 in the night when it was raining the property was shining in middle of the jungle like a start, in the morning it gave us a great view of mountains from our rooms, also they have a man made lake which is good time to spend around it. Food was also great but the rooms are so big which can easily accommodate 10 PAX with almost star rated property
