Deep in the heart of Coorg's verdant hills, is an experience waiting to enchant you with the unbridled magic of the Western Ghats. Picture this, lungfuls of clear forest air. Green, so lush that it awakens the dormant poet in you. Space that makes you feel like yourself again. And then a surprise waterfall that turns your heart into a gleeful child. Ayatana offers 50 well-appointed rooms, each offering a spectacular show of Coorg's dreamy scapes. The morning mist unravels to awaken you to the birdsong and forest dialogue. Our restaurant fills the soul with views of a gregarious river, while our chefs prove a worthy gastronomic match to the view. With a resplendent nature that seems to embrace from all directions, a stay at WelcomHeritage Ayatana will be nothing short of enriching the mind, body and soul.

Nestled in a serene forest setting, WelcomHeritage Ayatana earns acclaim for its lush atmosphere and tranquil ambiance, complete with a private waterfall that enchants visitors. The staff's attentive and friendly service is often lauded, complementing the resort's array of amenities that cater to all ages.

I can not describe how beautiful my experience has been in this place. I love being close to nature and this was just the perfect place to be.
This place is not exactly in Coorg - around 60 kms away. But I promise you, you wouldn’t feel like getting out of here.
To start with, it’s really difficult finding this place, because after a point of time there’s no network and you are just lost. And the worst part is, this is built in a place that’s secluded so very less people to help you find the way. Hence it’s very important that you have your own vehicle. And the road to the hotel is really bad. They told us it was under construction so guess it would be okay by now.
But as soon as you enter the property, you forget all of the discomforts you faced to reach here and are just left in awe.
They welcome you with a refreshing hot kokum coffee and then after checkout drop you to your rooms through a baggi. You cannot use our own transportation to travel in the hotel whether it’s a 2 or 4 wheeler. The only mode of travel is the baggi which is available to you 24*7 and just a call away.
This hotel follows the policy of being eco friendly.
It’s a massive property that probably has no end 😂. They have different areas like the spa, pool, bar, games area, adventure activities, dining room, and their very own private waterfall! What else would you want? We stayed there for two days but We just couldn’t see the entire property. They also have a small trek that you can opt.
You can just laze around in the balcony with a cup of coffee enjoying the beautiful view.
They usually have packages which include all the 3 meals and snacks. I highly recommend this because there’s no restaurant near the property and it’s really a hassle to get out for every meal. Much rather enjoy utilise your time enjoying the property.
Lastly, if you are going here, make sure you inform your loved ones about your whereabouts much in advance because this place has zero network. There’s WiFi though!

1) location :the road from Bangalore via kunigal ,chanrayaoatna, holenarsipura to the property is very good which made the drive to property quite smooth and easy .once u get here the tranquil and serene environment calms you and perks you up
2) the staff is very friendly supportive and responsive and do put in an effort to make your stay as smooth as possible
3) activities : the walk around the property morning and late evenings can be mesmerising ,they also have a curated nature walk as part of regular package where one can identify birds like the hill whistling myna ,woodpeckers, wagtails, hornbills aparT from the flora . The waterfall within the property is quite an amazing experience ,my boys and me had a lot of fun under the waterfall ,the cold mountain stream magically refreshes you.the infinity pool overlooking the waterfall is another place we had fun .the resort has also developed some adventure activities like zip lining ,harness based climbing was also there as part of package.it had also had a good games room for kids , pool table and a decent spa for relaxation and rejuvenation.there was also some activities available for extra charges like hike to a peak near by or a jeep trip to a view point near by.we as a family did the trek(jet trip of about 8 km and then about 6 km trek with a guide to the top ) and it was quite a nice experience being almost alone at the mountain top
4) the food was just awesome , they have quite a variety of cuisine options across all 3 meals of the day including coorgi food and I must say all was prepared very well , the taste and variety compelled me to over eat! Full marks to chef and his team there !
5) rooms are quite comfortable and spacious , we could accommodate an extra bed without it getting claustrophobic, the balcony is the asset in the room with lounge chairs overlooking into the forest. Place where you can just chill out and laze staring and observing the trees and nature
Overall an amazing property and experience with family
Some points to consider : for old folks (like my parents) the climb from room to dining area can get demanding , while they do have buggies to ferry you around ,not every time one would want to wait for buggy to arrive
Over weekends when the resort gets full it can get bustling and crowded in the popular areas around the swimming pool and waterfall

We were a group of 12 adults with kids and pets and we chose Ayatana based on the reviews we had seen. The property is located off Somvarpet and it took us about 6 hours from Bangalore. The last few kilometers had steep winding roads. So those with motion sickness need to be aware of this.
The pros: The property is very serene and the rooms are located at a distance from the central areas of the resort. They do have a buggy to help navigate between different points in the property.
Restaurant and bar staff are extremely helpful and kind
Now for the Cons. If you are travelling with a pet, be aware that pets are not allowed in common areas.
Food, there is a lot of variety, but taste is average
Beds in the standard cottage are extremely small and the air conditioning does not reach the bed. This made the sleep experience really uncomfortable
The bathrooms did not have enough ventilation . They do not have a hair dryer. Please carry one yourself
No strict rules in swimming pool. People were jumping in with their regular clothes .
High Tea and Coffee provided in the evening is of poor quality. Its always lukewarm and never hot.
Towels and toileteries in the room are not changed unless and until it is requested.
Ayatana needs to go a long way before it can be recognized as a five star property. Except for the location, the rest of the amenities and services are equivalent to any 3 star hotel or homestay.
For the quality of services provided , the property is severely overpriced

This is a mixed review. The positive is definitely the location which is very pristine and isolated from all the tourist spots. Nature is present in every part of this resort. The waterfalls is an added attraction.
In spite of this we checked out early and left the place as soon as we could. If you fear covid19, this is definitely NOT the place to stay.
Firstly, there is zero social distancing in place. None of the guests seem to be wearing masks in public areas and during breakfast the tables were placed so close together that you could literally bump into other people. Even though our package included dinner and lunch, we didn't even go out.
The room was very unclean, it is definitely not "luxurious" as they claim. The room can get very humid because of the complete lack of any kind of insulation. In a place where they have a waterfall close by, this is a basic requirement.
The worst thing is that when we complained, nobody seemed to even care. When we asked for the manager, they said there wasn't one there. The next day we checked out early the money paid for the second wasn't refunded, was told very tersely by the reception that they do not know anything about reservations. This was the worst experience in a resort we've had ever. There are much better hotels in coorg for much lower rates.

Got to know about this property through the itc welcome heritage page and immediately fell in love with it. The booking was made through the property’s call centre where i was first i asked to pay 50% of the booking amount. I had mentioned to the lady (Meenakshi) that the balance will be paid by me at the time of check in. After a couple of days, she calls n to my surprise tells me to pay the balance amount before check in. Anyway, we ended up doing that.
The drive to the property is quite long. Google Maps showed us 5.30hrs but we ended up with a 7 hr drive, with a 30min break in between. By the time we settled in, it was already pretty dark and could not see the property.
The next morning, we woke up with the sound and view of the natural waterfall from our room (#202/203), have never experienced this ever. We weee taken aback by the natural beauty of the property n the landscape of it.
The rooms/bathrooms are spacious, the property has one restaurant and a bar. There is a good selection of indoor & outdoor activities on site with a prompt buggy service to take you to your room from the restaurant, although its a good walk too.
There are a few issues which the management must address though:
1. House Keeping needs to be much better, with towels being provided on time.
2. Better selection & quality of food considering its a five star property.
3. The RO Water needs to be looked into as i feel its not the most hygienic one.
On the positive side, i must thank Mr Umesh, the restaurant manager, he is a true asset for the resort. He made our stay so so comfortable & memorable.

We stayed at Ayatana for 2 nights. We were 2 adults and 2 kids. We drove from Bangalore and it took us 5.5 hrs to reach the resort. We reached the property early at around 11 am. The check-in was smooth and quick. Ms Soumya at reception was very welcoming. She explained all about the property and package inclusions. There was no network coverage at the property but they have a descent wifi connection in the rooms.
The room was very cozy and clean with huge balconies overlooking the property. After relaxing for an hour we went for lunch at the restaurant. Depending on the room location you may have to walk a bit to reach the restaurant and bar. But the resort does have car/buggy facility to pick and drop you as and when required.
The restaurant called “The glass house” offers excellent view of the waterfall. Yes you read it right. The property has their own private waterfall. The food spread was great and tasted out of this world. The restaurant manager was always making sure we are having a good meal and are comfortable. After lunch we spent some time at the waterfall and it was really refreshing.
The resort offers some activities like zip line,
Trampoline for kids and few others. They have a games room having some Indoor games like table tennis, chess, snooker, fussball etc. The activities were all included in the package. We really enjoyed zip line and Did it many times 😊. Mr Rajesh was supervising the activities and was really helpful and encouraging guests for the activities.
The resort has a lovely pool overlooking the waterfall. The pool was open for guests. The property also has a great bar “Tavern”. Hi-tea was served at the bar.
Overall we had a lovely stay. All the staff was very helpful and welcoming us every time with a smile. Would definitely visit again!!

One of the best experiences we had in a resort. Fantastic location and Wonderful staff..
What an experience to live in the middle of pure nature, with a private waterfall.. Amazing !!!
Rooms were cleaned and sanitized properly, few housekeeping staff were wearing PPE kit, which shows the hygiene level they maintain.
Took nature walk with our guide Pradeep, who is very knowledgeable about the surrounding habitat. Explained us about different kinds of Birds and trees.
Indranil and RG ensured all the requests (House keeping/ room service) was on time and we have a great time in the resort. Thank you for that.
Special thanks to Babi for taking our wonderful pics, especially of my daughter. He also shared them promptly.
Staff also celebrated Women's Day, and invited all the guests personally to be part of the celebration.
All in all we had a great time in the resort, my 4 year loved it, only thing she missed was slides and swings :).
Will visit again for sure!!

My wife and I stayed at Ayatana WelomHeritage resort for 5 Nights and you need to experience to feel as words won't do justice to the feeling one carries after staying there.
The resort is not only a massive one but extremely picturesque, to find solitude, have a conversation with a loved one, lie down on the grass, read a book or to even stare in the jungle while listening to the birds chirping by is just mesmerising.
The staff and the food is a large part of what makes any hotel or resort a big attraction and each member of Jessy's (GM) team is hand picked and you only see how a leader is as good as his/her team and vice a versa.
Indranil took extremely good care of all housekeeping related items and it was beautiful to come back to surprise (Flower Decor on the bed) every single day, from keeping the Jacuzzi equipped with bath salts and keeping the water warm, to keeping utmost care of sanitisation in covid times.
Babeesh is a chef beyond excellence, the local delicacies are to die for but the other cuisines that he brings on be it simple Pizza's or Chinese or Northern, it's a recipe for weight gain as you can't stop eating.
The waiters and the host/hostess are outstandingly courteous, ready to just assist and make things even more welcoming than they already are.
They make dedicated efforts to keep the resort involved in activities, since we were there during Holi festival, we got to witness Holika Dahen, Color Handi amongst many things, the resort is pet friendly and we could not have asked for a better thing for us as we missed our dogs back home.
The simple yet excellent set ups of private dinner near the waterfall is something that my wife and I will never forget.
We came back leaving a part of us there at Ayatana, waiting to go back and find ourselves again.
It will not be right if I was to not mention the staff in person (Arun, Adarsh, Shivu, Sushant, Ajit, Rinju, Mithun, Kariappa, Pradeep, Somaiah, Nawaz, June, Bharat, Kevin, Shining, Vinish and Naveen)
I think to sum it up, they treat others as they wanted to be treated and that says it all!

Excellent location especially in monsoon time when waterfall becomes the prime attraction of the property. You can spend the whole day in lounge/restaurant area sipping coffee/wine with spectacular view of greenery and waterfall. They have few interesting daily activities apart from zip lining and indoor games. Food is just amazing. So much variety and everything is cooked with perfection. House keeping is so perfect that u will not get chance to call the help number anytime. Rooms are so nicely packed that no insects will enter your room even in monsoon time.
Small suggestion to the team to look into the quality of mattress. They are too soft and springy. We Indians are not used to such springy beds and hence sleep was disturbed. Otherwise rooms are very comfortable with huge bathroom (in suite room) and nice toiletries they provide.

Dear Sahil, Greetings from WelcomHeritage Ayatana, Coorg. It is a pleasure to know the divinity and tranquility of Ayatana was much treasured. Our sincere gratitude for putting down these kind words of appreciation on our Food quality and Housekeeping services. Our architectural design has put forth the effort of enjoying the beautiful nature yet to keep the interiors secured. Definitely making note with the possible workaround that could be possible with regards to the mattress. Looking forward to host you again at Ayatana. Yes, it works decently well, but, do not expect high 5G speeds or anything.
It works decently well, but, the signal strength is only good in some common areas.
Check on their website or in any travel agency portal listen by AYATHANA
The roads are pretty decent.
The last 15 min ride might be a little bumpy. But otherwise, I don't see it as a problem!
